OK Have been re-reading Nance McCullough's Love Formulas and have been introduced to the Arabic Chart [on the 1st read it went way over my head - so I skipped it]. And in there is a blurb touting the accuracy of the Arabic ascendant in terms of describing the personality on par with the tropical ASC. So! What I want to know is - do you think yours describes you? BTW the math is: ASC + ASC - SUN [links below] Mine went from 2 leo to 2 capricorn and this resonated with me but I have so much saturn already i'm unable to discern at the moment. I'm off tonight to finish calculating my arabic chart. I just wanted to know other's thoughts? BASIC INFO

Secondary (Arabic) ChartA chart called the secondary chart and introduced by Carl Payne Tobey in his ASTROLOGY OF INNER SPACE, has validity with transits and solar returns. I need to backtrack briefly and give some history on Tobey's secondary chart. The ancient Arabics used heliocentric house erection, and at the time of a person's birth they erected a normal ascendant. Then they placed the Sun at that normal ascendant longitude and arrived at an additional set of points for all the planetary locations. They found that these Arabic parts were very valid. According to past correspondence with Carl Payne Tobey, he and Grant Lewi used these Arabic parts and also the heliocentric nodes extensively. Tobey discovered how to add an ascendant to this secondary chart (which I call a secondary (Arabic) chart or shorter - an Arabic chart.) To arrive at the ascendant for this chart, use the formula for Arabic parts and add the longitude of the natal ascendant to the longitude of the natal ascendant and subtract the natal Sun. I will notate the Arabic formula in regard to the Part of Fortune (which is location of Moon in Arabic chart): Part of Fortune: Asc + Moon - Sun; For Arabic Asc: Asc + Asc - Sun Each of the Arabic parts is the location of that planet in the Arabic chart. The chart looks like a mirror of your natal chart with planets all in the same house locations and distances from each other and from the house cusps. The only difference is the longitude of the planets and the house cusps are different. These new longitudes are based upon equating the Sun to the Asc, or using the Arabic parts formula. Individuals fit these Arabic ascendants as well as their natal ascendants (some natives fit their Arabic ascendants better than their natal Asc).

i have 5º Libra AC and 6º Virgo Sun
That makes me 4ºSCORPIO - interesting..never thought i could be a Scorp.

If I worked it out right mine is Aries. Natally it is Scorpio, Square Mars by a few seconds. So a nice tie-in. Unless you have been on the recieving end of my foul temper then you won't think it quite so nice. IP: Logged |

Hi DD!Another hint that makes even more clear of why we do get along wo well  About the SCorp AC:well...maybe that´s why im more passionate,intense and inclined torwards psichology,metaphisychs and the occult  makes sense! jONNHY´S AC ARabic is 20ºTaurus - hmm it conjuncts my Moon what a great catch hihihi And if i look at my ARABIC DSC,it conjuncts his KARMA,so im loving this new finding! KAIRA go here and put on 1st and 2nd box your ACº and in the 3rd your sun sign and degree and VOILÁ

Hello Scorpio Arabic Asc Sisters!!! *waving crazily*Mine is around 3 deg Scorpio, conj Saturn (chart ruler). I enjoyed reading Carl Tobey's theories. In fact, I was fascinated by them. But I have recently returned to a more classical approach, including using Placidus house system.
One thing I liked and I still think it fits perfectly was him thinking Leo rules 1st house. IP: Logged |

mine is 21 Scorpio. to me this makes sense very much. i always thought i'm not dry enough for someone who's planets concentrate on sagittarius and fire signs. especially in the love department.IP: Logged |

Interesting.My natal ASC is 15'17 Aquarius and my natal DSC is 15'17 Leo. My natal Sun is 15'31 Cancer. My Arabic ASC is 15'03 Virgo (conjunct Selena/White Moon and several midpoints) - when I calculated my Arabic DSC it also came out as 15'03 Virgo. That's a lot going on at 15 degrees. I have a huge Virgo stellium so I can easily identify with both Aquarius and Virgo as an ASC. As for Draconics and Solstice Points, my Draconic ASC is 11'36 Pisces and my Draconic DSC is 11'36 Virgo. My Solstice ASC is 14'37 Scorpio and my Solstice DSC is 14'37 Taurus. IP: Logged |
