Hi all

I have been pondering again wich asteroids / planets may tell us more about intimacy, romantic potential and passion / sex.

So far I have this:

Intimacy:
Moon, Ceres, Amor, IC

Romance:
Venus, Valentien, Juno, DC

Passion / sexual attraction:
Mars, Eros, Anteros, AC

I`m not completely sure about Amor and Juno though. Where would you put it?
Intimacy? Romance?

Amor means "Love", but it more relates to intimacy and acceptance, doesn`t it?
What about Juno?
She`s about marriage, commitment. Would this be better in "intimacy, closeness"?
But on the other hand s he also represents the romantic partner, so for romance?

Please help me; give me your opinions (so I can exploit them for this system).

I think it would be interesting to analyse synastries with this system to see which may be prevalent in a relationship and also who may feel more romantic than the other.

I actually think that the first: intimacy, closeness, care, can also be found in family-relationships, close friendships, because it tends to be purely platonic.

"Romance" for me here really includes romantic attraction (not necessarily sexual); you can be romantically attracted to someone without wanting to "jump" them.

"Sexual" speaks for itself I guess, pure sexual, physical attraction (of course the best case scenario would be if all three ingredients were there)

I will write more when I get home but isn't Juno all about sex?

WEll, the Magi claim that to be true, but honestly I don´t see this.

All the meanings of planets and asteroids are derived from their mythology and Juno definitely wasn`t all about sex.
I do understand how they come to their intepretation, since Juno deals very much with the issues of betrayal and infedility (the shadow side of her commitment and own fidelity in her marriage to Jupiter).

But the big difference in mythology is that Juno is on the RECEIVING end of infidelity, which makes her quite angry, as is understandable.

So, no I do not agree with the Magi here.

Then it must be intimacy. I know Juno shows up a lot in marriages. Maybe we should look and melanie/antonio and Paul Newman/joanne Woodward?

I will help you when I get home... I'm out, walking trying to clear my head!

You were right, that thing with my first love was me idolizing it. I had a huge emotional release about it last night. I think its all to do with me being traumatized over Mike.

Funny, that you mentioned that. Because in my first attempt I put Juno into "intimacy" and Amor into "romance", which still makes some sense I guess. Amore, Amore, what is more romantic?

`Yes, I think that you are traumatized about the thing with Mike. It needs time, you know?
I know, stupid saying, but it`s true. You have to let the wounds heal.

Also, what would you use as "reference objects" - objects, that you accept aspects to.

I used Sun, Moon, Venus, Mars, Saturn, Pluto, NN, Vertex, Karma, Destinn, IC, AC and of course Ceres, Juno, Amor, Valentine, Eros, Anteros.

Would you include Mercury, Jupiter, Uranus, Neptune and Psyche, too?

Or would you even limit it to only Sun, MOon, Venus, Mars, NN, Vertex, AC and IC?

I would include neptune and psyche - not sure about the others though.

Are communication and luck important when it comes to asteroids?

Yup, i'm traumatised lol
I sent him an email saying "wishing you a lovely weekend through this heatwave" and he wrote back saying "i'm happy to hear from you"
so ambiguous haha

Hera also has to do with committed relationships. It's the Greek counterpart of Juno. Frigga also has to do with committed relationships. It's named after the Norse goddess of Marriage, wife of the supreme Norse god,Odin.

Aphrodite is the Greek counterpart of Venus, and so that has to do with love. Freia is the Norse goddess of love. You can use those as love, romance indicators. Cupido also...asteroid named after Cupid.

the geocentric nodes of these asteroids are also relevant. Of course the geocentric nodes of Venus and Mars are too for love, passion.

also if you want to use Ceres, you might like to use the asteroid,Demeter which is Ceres' Greek counterpart.

Lara,

yes, I feel a certain inclination towards Neptune and Psyche, too. But maybe that is just an individual thing for us two?

Are you two still talking to each other on a regular basis?

Glaucus,

yes, I know, but I actually wanted to limit the choice of asteroids to the real important and effective ones.

Otherwise we just have an overflow of asteroid-aspects.
But of course it is an interesting idea to include the Greek counterparts Hera, Demeter, Aphrodite and also Cupido.

Yes, maybe it's because those two relate to us so well

No, we aren't. I told him that l wasn't sure what to do now or whether l should be contacting him or leaving him alone and he said he didn't know what to do either... so l guess we are just floating around in our swimming pools, aimlessly!

I think I would add Cupido also. I think IQ said it was Super Venus...

In Roman mythology, Cupid (Latin cupido) is the god of erotic love and beauty. He is equated with the Greek god Eros, and another one of his Latin names is Amor (cognate with Kama). Cupid is a personification of love, and in particular sexual love. Cupid's cult was closely associated with that of Venus, with Cupid being worshipped as devotedly as she. Additionally, Cupid's power was supposed to be even greater than his mother's, since he had dominion over the dead in Hades, the creatures of the sea and the gods in Olympus.

They are important and effective. It depends on how they are being used and what to look for. Some astrologers don't think asteroids are important at all. Some astrologers don't think midpoints are important at all. Some astrologers don't believe hypothetical transneptunians in Uranian Astrology are important. Martha Lang-Wescott uses uranian astrology techniques(midpoints, hypothetical transneptunians,45 degree,90 degree dials)with asteroids. Now...that's very complicated. I have her books, but I still can't grasp how she does it. I don't know how to read asteroid midpoint pictures. She's very detailed too.

I guess it really depends on the astrologer's perception of what is important.

A matter of fact, I had an accurate hunch that I have a geocentric Blondelet Node conjunct Juno within 1 degree in my chart. I have geocentric north Blondelet Node conjunct Juno within 1 degree orb,and that indicate my relationship with a blonde. That's a 1 out of over million hunch. I even have geocentric South Juno Node conjunct my geocentric south Blondelet Node within 1 degree which adds to that.

Here is a example of asteroid node aspects to my Sun

Sun in 5'20 Scorpio - I am a believer of Sun being the father
asteroid,Scotti in 5'23 Scorpio - Scott was my father's last name (I have my mother's maiden name)

Geo and Helio SN Eris Node in 5'30 Scorpio - diversity, divergence matters
Geo SN Apollo in 5'29 Scorpio - Apollo was my favorite Greek/Roman deity - god of light, music, prophecy, archery, and healing - also known as Sun God replacement for Helios/Sol
Helio SN Apollo in 5'52 Scorpio
Geo NN Rayhe in 6'05 Scorpio
Helio NN Rayhe in 6'27 Scorpio
Geo SN Laurentia in 6'05 Scorpio - Lawrence was my father's first name
Helio SN Laurentia in 6'28 Scorpio
Geo SN Hermes in 4'58 Scorpio - communications,speed......communications has been a strong theme in my life, and I was a very fast runner...also Hermes was also the recently departed souls' guide to the underworld....it could also relate to the occult
Geo SN Rayman in 4'55 Leo

the geocentric nodes of asteroids move much faster than heliocentric nodes which move much slower than outerplanets, but yet I have heliocentric Laurentia south node and geocentric Laurentia south node both conjunct my Sun....the same with Geo and Helio Rayhe north nodes and the Geo and Helio south Apollo Nodes. Those indicate very important energies/themes in my life.

The Eris heliocentric and geocentric nodes are the same because Eris is a very slow moving distant outerbody

If you use the nodes of asteroids and planets, use no more than 1 to 2 degree orb. tight orbs are only used with nodes...same with midpoints.

Definitely for me using 4 synastry charts:

Juno - intimacy/sexual

Sappho - intimacy

Valentine - usually around my IC, MC or reln houses

Eros - sexual

IC - depending which asteroid fell on it

MC - as above

Neptune - in reln houses

Venus - in positive aspect to my Venus, Juno, Sun or Mars; sexual, believe it or not!

Personal asteroid names - wow, this amazes me!!

I'm glad you've started this thread - this is an area I've been looking at a lot lately. It's good to see what others think, too!

Lara - hang in there. Seems like you're really reflecting things at the mo.

have just tried Aphrodite and Adronis with some success. Frigga didn't land in the right places for me.

also Vertex has an impact on me in synastry!

At the top of my head, Amor would fall in 'Romance', while Juno, 'Passion'

I read a bit about Juno linked with Hera, and the only way something can get intense and tumultous is due to passion - the devil in tarot.

Amor sounds like innocent romance to me, but maybe I just haven't read up enough

The question is, is Amor more romantic or more intimaate?

The term platonic and unconditional love is sometimes used to describe Amor-love, that somehow makes me think more of intimacy, or doesn`t it? Ah, unsure.

Anteros, I have an article at home, where the myth is explained. Will post some quotes from it later on.
