The Results found in female marriage horoscopes We analyzed 94 solar return charts calculated for the year of marriage.
Our conditions:
we used the Topocentric House system (almost similar to Placidus)
we calculated the charts for the place of birth because we do not always know the place of residence.
In our research, we used all the major planets and points (Sun to Pluto, Mean North Node and the 4 major Asteroids). We also incorporated the Vertex, the Dark Moon Lilith (the mean apogee of the Moon) and the Part of Fortune (changing between day and night births). We also used the TNPs (Trans-Neptunian Planets) from the Hamburg School Uranian Astrology)
We used all major and minor aspects, the parallel and contra-parallel included. The orb for the minor aspects is 1° and for the major aspects we did our research with three different orb settings (1°, 3° and 6°). All midpoints were done with 1° orbs.
The conditions were tested in geocentric positions and heliocentric positions as well.
We used the modern house rulers (for example, Pluto rules Scorpio.
Our Preliminary Findings in the Solar Returns:
Mars between 0°-1° in Cardinal signs (Aries, Cancer, Libra or Capricorn)
the ruler of the 12th house in the 3rd Quadrant (houses 7, 8 or 9) (Chi square 12.0), and especially in the 9th house (Chi square 9.0)
ruler of the 10th house in Leo (Chi square 11.0)
the ruler of the 1st house in the 9th house (Chi square 9.0)
the Sun sextile or trine Mars (orb 3°)
the Sun sextile Jupiter (orb 3°)
the ruler of the 5th house in the 1st Quadrant (houses 1, 2 or 3)
the ruler of the 5th house in Libra
Mars trine the MC (orb 3°)
the ruler of the 7th house conjunct the ruler of the 8th house (orb 3°) (Chi square 8.0)
the Moon in Cancer (Chi square 5.0)
the Mean Node of the Moon semi-square the ruler of the 9th house (the True Node does not bring any significant results in this study!)
Remarkable is the fact that the ruler of the 9th house (modern rulerships) is found in many configurations. The 9th house is the house of publicity and no doubt that a marriage is a public event.
Also, the 3rd Quadrant is the Quadrant of relationships, partnership and marriage. It's NOT the 7th house alone. The German Schule Fuer Transpersonale Astrologie (TPA)(School for Transpersonal Astrology) has always claimed that a marriage is not a 7th house affair alone but rather a matter of the 3rd Quadrant, and especially of the 8th house.
In their opinion, the 7th house is a cardinal air house, denoting that this house is the house of meetings and encounters. Everything and everybody you encounter as such and "as is" relates to the 7th house (principle of cardinal air). Cardinal signs don't bond, they just trigger, ignite and show what is there potentially.
In the 8th house (representing the fixed water principle), you start to bond (the fixed house principle) and because it's a water house, you're bonding emotionally what you once encountered or met through the 7th house.
A marriage is an emotional bond, denoting that it fits the 8th house principle. The 9th house is a mutable fire house. Mutable houses are communicative houses, spreading what has been bond or joined in the preceding fixed houses. Mutable houses make public, make visible one way or the other.
The 9th mutable fire house spreads the word and makes public and visible what has been joined, connected ... in the 8th house (the marriage).
So far, our preliminary research findings do seem to confirm the findings of the TPA School.
The Results found in male marriage horoscopes
We analyzed 94 solar return charts calculated for the year of marriage.
Our conditions:

The conditions were tested in geocentric positions and heliocentric positions as well.
We used the modern house rulers (for example, Pluto rules Scorpio.
Our Preliminary Findings in the Solar Returns:
Venus conjunct the ruler of the 9th house (Chi square 16.0)
the ruler of the 10th house in the 7th house (Chi square 10.0)
the Moon in the 7th house (Chi square 10.0)
Ascendant in Capricorn (Chi square 10.0)
the ruler of the 7th house in the 1st Quadrant (Chi square 8.0)
the ruler of the 8th house in the 4th house (Chi square 8.0)
the ruler of the 4th house conjunct the ruler of the 9th house (Chi square 8.0)
the Moon in Sagittarius (Chi square 6.0)
In any case we notice some relationship with or involvement of a house from the 3rd Quadrant (houses 7, 8 or 9), confirming the theory of the "Schule Fuer Transpersonale Astrologie" (TPA -- School for Transpersonal Astrology) outlined when we discussed the female Solar return charts for the year of marriage that states that marriages are related to the whole 3rd Quadrant and not just to the 7th house.
Remarkable is the strong evidence for the sign Capricorn and the 10th house (related to and mundane ruled by Capricorn), denoting that in male charts the change of status through a marriage may be important.
Perhaps, men need a marriage to formaly feel part of the society and to raise their esteem.
The 9th house seems to be involved in case of publicity and (fortunate?) public events. It remains yet unclear why the 4th house comes up so many times (in more instances than listed above but these instances were not (yet) significant enough to make public).
