hahaha I don't think so but very funny.
Actually recently some Aries girl said she didn't know what my favourite song was but that it was probably pretty cool, so I saw this as an opportunity to open up to her, but when I started talking about music, she said I was taking this way to seriously.
...like.. what are you looking for?? really

As someone with this placement, all I can say is ouch, these are some pretty harsh opinions that are coming out!

Yes, us Merc in Aries folks can sound mean as hell at times. However, the only people who will ever experience this from me are those who hurt me really badly.

There's also plenty of positive things about this placement: we're witty, can think on our feet, are great at debates, decisive and concise. Personally, I think this placement makes me good with words, and I don't think I would have been able to write my MA without it!

GirlMercury (Merc in Aries and proud of it)

I LOVE Mercury in Aries-people, I really do. Sometimes their blunt honesty makes me gulp, but I prefer to hear the truth. I can live with the truth, even if it`s hard (and sometimes it is and takes some time to digest it).

I guess it must be my Sagittarius-Mercury in 1st house, that can deal rather well with the openness of Mercury in Aries.
And often it just makes me laugh and reminds me of not taking everything so seriously.

My friend Cody has Mercury in Aries and I love arguing with him haha.

He's also very interested in politics, so you can see how THAT can turn out. Plus he's a Taurus Sun, so he's argumentative and stubborn as hell.

i love all the comments.

snohawk
lol. music is something that i use to make conversation with others and a good way to get to know someone and something about them. i can talk about music forever.

lara
yeah, true about having the last word. i must admit - i do that. good for you, btw, for not having the last word - but the last laugh.

girlmercury
i have aries merc too, and proud of it. i'm never mean, but i can be really sharp. one thing - i'm always very blunt. yes, love what you said about witty, debates, thinking on feet. i can relate to those. i'm not as witty as i'd like to be, but every now and then i can come out with a good one. definitely think on my feet - my mind is about ten steps in front of my actions.

dd
yes, i prefer to hear the truth. but aries merc is very blunt. yes, i think that probably sagi merc would best cope with aries merc. even the other fire - leo merc - wouldn't cope because of the ego bruising. so aries and sagi merc stand out for me - and also maybe gemini merc - as being able to understand each other and appreciate those qualities.

winky_winky
yes, i find aries merc people great conversationalists. maybe have problems listening sometimes too - usually because too busy thinking about the next thing to say. lol.

mblover
agreed about honesty. that's where the foot in mouth comes in - there's no filter between the thought entering the head and exiting from the mouth.

amowls
arguing and debating for aries merc is fun. there is nothing more interesting than verbal sparring (in the name of fun, only) - i call it foreplay. nothing sexier than that. that's how aries mercs flirt.

Mama Mia

i've never thought about it from a parent's perspective. lol - that must be funny at times. i mean, kids are pretty honest and blunt anyway, but an aries merc would be hilarious (and sometimes embarrassing i imagine - having to cover for what they say). my son is aqua merc (5 planets in aqua) so he just blurts his true opinion out - leaving me to pick up the pieces. that's when i'm grateful for my aries merc.

does your child bore easily? i suppose all kids are easily bored to a point, but i imagine aries mercs become bored more easily and quickly. i did as a kid - even now. even here, sometimes after i post i don't go back to a thread. this site is fast moving and there's new threads all the time and that really appeals to my aries merc.

i've read and seen a number of interviews with robert downey jr recently and just his replies make me think how aries merc he is. there are times when he's so blunt or open that i cringe. the honesty is astounding. and some of his jokes - lol! there are no words. same with ewan mcgregor, who also has aries mercury - just some things should never be said. there's no filtering of their thoughts - just blurting out whatever comes first to mind. i love it. it was after reading a particular interview with rdj that i started this thread - wondering if others have noticed it too. personally, i love aries mercury sense of humour.

William Shakespeare had Mercury in Aries...
I doubt he'd be accused of foot-in-mouth disease.

I think many people with Mercury in Aries are just very honest,
and not afraid to confront conflicts head-on, and to say what they mean,
rather than hide behind some passive-aggressive, avoidant behaviour.

They often have an instinct for cutting through other people's bullsh!t,
and communicating what is at the very heart of a matter.

My Mercury is in Pisces but yea I like ppl with Mercury in Sag/Aries lolz. Truth is better than anything. For Aries I found them really direct and a..bit childlike sometimes. For Sag more philosophical..., always hunting for more knowledge

william shakespeare eh? ah, to be amongst such esteemed company. lol - in my dreams. of course, there are those who believe that he didn't write his works. regardless, i wonder if he had the gift on paper but in person if he kind of spoke before he thought. there you go, i really didn't know that he had aries merc. cool. thanks for that.

sorry, i don't get your reply. over my head i'm afraid. you're more than welcome to offer your insights - especially if you know an aries merc person or if you are one and have that experience. ah, even if you go off thread - who cares - i love it when that happens. i suppose that's a bit of aries merc there too. lol.

so would you say you can relate to the foot in mouth thing? but as it turns out we are in the company of william shakespeare, soo..... actually, makes me want to meet him now and see if he stumbles over his verbal words to compensate for the beauty of his writtten ones. lol - can you imagine?

With the foot in mouth thing, that's something I associate far more with Sags. Their lack of tact can be just breathtaking sometimes - and the stuff that comes out so cringeworthy

Mercury in Aries is more 'shoot first, ask questions later'.
