Hi everyone,

I was wondering if anyone could tell me what is more important for compatibility and harmony in a relationship: Aspects to the moon, or aspects to the sun/moon midpoint?

I've read that positive moon-moon aspects are essential for harmoniously living together day to day, but what about sun/moon midpoints aspecting major planets? Would this have the same harmonious effect?

Is it better to have a positive aspect btwn the sun and moon in synastry, or a hard aspect btwn the sun/moon midpoint and a personal planet?

Do any of these aspects provide longevity or is that strictly a saturn thing?

Any input would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks so much!

Hi GemGemGem,

I think it depends on the natal. For me, my moon is kind of a loner except for two squares that it receives at wider orbs.

I often have had relationships and friendships with people whose planets square my moon and it doesn't seem to be "hurtful" to me. I rarely have relationships with strong positive moon aspects, I assume for this reason. It probably feels uncomfortable or foreign to me.

On the other hand, I haven't had a whole lot of sun/moon midpoint action either.

My current "Karmic friend's" moon squares my moon, but his Merc conjuncts it. I think he contacts my Sun/Moon mp as well, although I can't rem how at the moment.

Longlasting bonds are by no means exclusive to Saturn. For example Sun/Moon is a bonding aspect, as is Moon/Venus and Sun/Venus, among others.

The question of Sun/Moon midpoint versus aspects to the Moon, well I don't know but I always like to see well-aspected Moons in synastry - not really to each other particularly, just in general. But as 8th above says, it depends on the chart what will feel best.

Out of the aspects you mentioned the consensus generally is that a Sun/Moon bond is the best.
