Now when I say cliche I mean overdone expression or word, and I am not pinpointing anyone in particular on LL. So no need to feel got at if you are a culprit. The oft-repeated cliche that annoys me about Geminis is that we are fickle. We're not all fickle, maybe some of our number are, but not all of us. Full of curiosity we are interesting in everyone and everything, we tend to be tolerant and give everyone a chance. Then we get accused of being fickle and shallow. *sigh* Everyone is more than the sum total of their sun sign so when you get down to it there are all sorts of contradictions and qualifiers. Many Geminis will have personal planets in Taurus or Cancer, which will add a different flavour to their personalities. Venus in either of those signs will take away from the possible truth of the accusation of fickle. It can't be just me gets fed up of being stereotyped. Let it out. Virgos, I am expecting great things of you, I know you won't let me down. Virgos don't let people down I have found. They just don't deserve the bad press (maybe Ms Winehouse does, but not the rest). I think that annoys me or at least perception that I get of what people think of Aqu is that we have no feelings or that we are some sort of robot. Just because we don't express them and don't want to feel them doesn't mean that we don't have any. IP: Logged |

I'm not Aqua, but I have seen that kind of robotic comment so many times it gets annoying. Few people don't have any feelings. It's their content and expression that tends to change. Water voids are unemotional and don't understand feelings. That one upsets me. IP: Logged |

revengeful.  I have never been guilty of this even just once in my more than 3 decades on earth, due to the preponderance of Libra/Air in my chart. In fact, i forgive just too easily. (But beware, because I can't and don't forget  ) ------------------

Im a Capricorn and i hate how every description involves business, status, money, career, etc. I have NO interest in any of these things..I am definitely not materialistic..and I even have a huge stellium in my 2nd house (Sun, Moon, Mercury, Saturn, Neptune, Uranus). My values are much more on the intangible side..experience, feelings, ideas, spirituality, etc. Only thing I want money for is travel travel travel loland i WONT be staying in a typical capricorn upscale decked out hotel room or resort..i love the idea of staying in little bungaloos, hostels, etc. that's not very capricornian is it? :P ------------------

No, it's not. That's why I think, the things you mentioned and I bolded aren't really 'annoying' cliches like this thread is asking about. But they just don't apply to you because you're quite a bit different from the 'typical' capricorn due to some of your other placements and hence you can't identify with those as much. I definitely respect what you do value  but I think you're more of an exception than 'typical' and when people make those generalized/stereotypical comments (even though sometimes BS), it's directed towards the archetype/typical version of that sign. There's always bound to be differences between each individual which is what makes our world and people so unique and worth discovering. IP: Logged |

That Libras are lazy and they are push overs, I've heard other bad things but I won't post, believe it or not Libras can actually be decent people capable of achievement and great strength of character(yes it is possible)...people have a tendency of hunting and pecking for something negative to knock about a person about. That includes other's sun sign unfortunately, while the wonderful qualities seem to be pushed aside and to many times overlooked. ------------------

Everything I read says that Pisces are not good with finances, nor are they supposed to be good at mathematics or working with numbers. I've been in accounting most of my life and now work in a bank. Physics and algebra were amongst my favorite subjects way back in HS. I follow "most" of the Pisces traits but I'm definately better with money than most people I know and I sure don't need a partner to balance my chequebook. IP: Logged |

the whole "aquas are emotionless and detached" misconception. i'm aqua sun, with venus/aqua/12th...and sure i have trouble EXPRESSING my emotions, but that doesn't mean that they are nonexistant. and the whole "detached" thing... maybe overwhelmed by them... and hesitant to express their feelings, but not detached from them... ------------------

OOooooo, I am bad with finances, I balance my checkbook by using the force. When I "feel" it is getting low I quit writing checks. I like all my signs positive and negative, I have dabbled with drugs and thought they were a little too fun, so I quit, I can see being adicted to something easily, which is a pisces trait. I do feel I am outgoing and not wishy washy. I am late for everything and I just can't help it, I just hate time, it just goes too fast. I am pretty much all the good and the bad. but I have a lot of pisces in my chart. pisces sun

PLF - yes, i realize all that. but this thread is about the cliche descriptions of our sun signs..i think we all know that the rest of our chart affects everything.------------------

The whole Librans-are-vapid-social-butterflies thing -- Sometimes I just vont to be aloooone.....  My fellow Airyans already picked up the additional “fickle” and “clinical (devoid of feelings)” angles 
The main thing I really resent about my Sun sign is that we are a THING, while everyone else gets to be human or animal
However, Venus brings her compensations  I also resent the (mis)conception that all female Librans are always fussing with hair, makeup, clothes and other superficial matters. You will find me either in a library improving my mind (keeping Alzheimers away!!) or out camping improving my muscles and wood-chopping skills Note: I generally make decisions pretty quickly -- and once I've made my mind up, it doesn't change much..... Well, actually, I think that most of the things you said are true of the signs, but that is just the negative aspect. All signs have positive and negative traits. But there is a reason to those traits. For example, for me it's true that Libras have difficulties making decisions and there is a reason for this: because in their need for peace and harmony they are afraid of making the wrong choice and loosing all that harmony.
It's not good to label signs and stick to stereotypes.
People always complain that Cancers are moody, and I don't get offended because I know that we are. The reason is that we are very sensitive and are affected by the tides and phases of the moon.
I think that air signs tend to be more detached, but I don't think that means they don't have feelings. In fact, sometimes I wish I could be more detached.
So it's important to see the good and bad.
Taurus is slow, but once they get the motor going there is no stopping them. They have perseverence. That slow and steady pace is actually positive.
i think the 12 signs combined have everything the world needs, and the tasks are distributed among them. The world needs sensitive people, people with imagination, creative people, rational people, philosophical people, etc. The world couldn't have all sensitive people. We all complement each other.
Anyways, I hope I haven't offended anyone, cause it definitely wasn't my intention.
