... Emotionally, spiritually? I was wondering if there are specific aspects in synastry that indicate whether you feel deeply nourished in some way by the relationship. Most likely, this would be in ways that you can't or don't do for yourself for whatever reason.I would imagine that certain Saturn aspects could indicate feeling under-nourished, maybe a harsh Saturn-Venus or Saturn-moon aspect? But what would we be looking at in order to define this kind of nourishing relationship? Or is it something more elemental or sign-based? Taking this from what I've read about Chinese astrology, is it more along the lines of "water nourishes earth", "air nourishes fire" etc? I know this is a pretty basic part of astrology but is that all it comes down to, ie trines and sextiles? Is it only trines and sextiles to the sun? I'm really interested to get some specific answers re the planets and signs involved in this sense of feeling nourished. If anyone could post their experiences and synastry aspects relating to feeling this way in a relationship I'd be grateful for the input! IP: Logged |

Hi GemLover Nice thread!Me and my Pisces (I am Libra sun) have: My Aquarian Jupiter and his Aquarian Venus conjunct in the first house. This makes me feel nourished because he supports my sense of humour (I've had other parters tell me I'm weird on more than one occasion, he never ever does, he goads me into further weirdness if anything and out-weirds me big time). My Jupiter I think nourishes him as he tells me that he feels very free when he is with me - maybe I expand his horizons on what's possible with love? I dunno, you'd have to ask him but I think (and hope) that is what he meant). PS: Don't be afraid of Aquarians folks, I love the Aqua part of my chart, it's my fave. IP: Logged |

Yes the venus-jupiter conj is very nice, I have this one in occultation with JT Jupiter contacts are very supportive and the jupiter person will always forgive, give benefit of the doubt. Otherwise, have you thought of looking at ceres contacts maybe? IP: Logged |

Interesting question. I'll have to check out some charts to learn what works for me. But offhand, I do know that one of the people who most nourishes me has his Ceres on my Sun/Moon midpoint. IP: Logged |

Getting a bit off topic already but I just found that I have Ceres in Aries in my 5th house, conjunct my sun and Chiron, and opposite my moon. (My mother and sister also both have Ceres in Aries). I have to wonder if my Ceres placement has anything to do with why I still love this song that came out when I was three! I've been listening to it and thinking how much it describes me. http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=cetbFN4NvmM I'm rockin' out to this. \m/ IP: Logged |

I'd say the sign is how the nourishment occurs and house the location you get it. So aries/5th - is direct nourishment from maybe self even in matters of heart, entertainment etc. It also indicates how you can nourish and in aspect, the nourisher would be the ceres person. I have it in my 2nd/gemini. Apparently it's good for those whose job is speech therapy. IP: Logged |

I also have Ceres in Aries in my 5th house. Can't say I've ever been drawn to that song though. It kinda creeps me out, to be honest. Sounds like he's threatening our lives. Similar to having Ceres in the 5th, I also have my Moon in Leo. I've been thinking of those two things as explaining why I'm nurtured by fun. Everyone likes to have a good time, but for me it's more than enjoyment. It's what feeds me emotionally. People who place planets in my 5th house, and aspect my Moon & 5th house ruler nourish me in this way. I'm also fed by security and stability. Maybe I value that because I have Taurus on my Dsc. I think it has a lot to do with my Moon-Uranus square though. That aspect is a really important one for me. One of the narrowest in my chart, and the only narrow square. Its influence is extensive. I like a lot about it, but something it makes me bad at is feeling rooted. I've always felt anchorless, like others belong and I just pass through. There are lines in one of my favorite songs, "Fake Plastic Trees," that remind me of the psychology I associate with this square: "But I can't help the feeling I could blow through the ceiling If I just turn and run And it wears me out, it wears me out." http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HDS4wOd_o1I So I feel nourished by the people who somehow magically hold back that ethereal feeling, and instead make me feel grounded like I'm securely part of something. I've noticed I get this feeling the strongest with people who aspect my Saturn. Hmm, looked at some more charts and realized that people I've had that grounded feeling with also often aspected my Uranus. Seems counterintuitive, if it's Uranian detachment I'm trying to avoid. I guess it's explained by Uranus being my IC ruler. IP: Logged |

lol Jane! I have to admit that that part of the song disturbs me a bit - partly because I know it's true that I tend to wither away if I don't feel loved. I looked up a few charts, and found that two people who I've felt most nourished by both had their Ceres trine mine. One has his Ceres trine my sun and ASC, but the other person's Ceres narrowly misses out on the sun and ASC trines. I'd like to think that both of those relationships were/are mutually nourishing. The person who's Ceres also trines my sun and ASC in fact really boosted my confidence both in myself, and outwardly in terms of my appearance. I was actually a lot shyer before I made friends with him, and the almost constant ego-boosting and encouragement really did wonders for me. He has Ceres conjunct sun in Leo. So that's an interesting one. Other than that, I feel very nourished by people who ground me. As a Taurus sun, I think that's pretty essential - especially given that I'm probably the world's most ungrounded Taurus. The sun-Uranus opposition doesn't really help with that. So... who brings me down to earth the most? My family and my ex, truth be known. I'll look at which aspects might contribute next... IP: Logged |

Ok - my ex and I have Saturn trine Saturn, and he's an earth stellium (six planets in Virgo). I automatically feel grounded and safe when I'm around him. There's a lot of security for me in that friendship. IP: Logged |

My mother - her Saturn squares my sun and Uranus. Her moon is in my second house and her Venus is in my fourth house - I associate both of those houses with security and stability. My sister - her earth (Capricorn) moon in my second house. IP: Logged |

i think nourishment has always to do with Ceres and Moon.my bf nourish me - his Ceres conj my Jup/uranus. and i nourish him:my Ceres cj his Moon. But i have a very curious placement of my own Ceres: it´s in my 5th in Aqua, conj my Lilith :P - meaning that whoever nourish me,will also awake my Lilithian side - SPOOKY IP: Logged |

I agree with Diandra. So, seeing that my Ceres is in Pisces in 3rd house - would that mean that I am nourishing Pisces-folks? My Crush has his Ceres in Aries in his 1st house and it conjuncts my IC, opposes my Pluto and trines my Mars, Neptune, ASC, NN. It also squares my Venus. All pretty close orbs (under 3°) My Ceres conjuncts his Eros, opposes his Mars / Jupiter, and sextiles his Chiron. It also is solstice conjunct his Pluto. (WEll, Ceres and Pluto were never good friends, as Pluto took her most beloved daugher away from her.) IP: Logged |
