So 1 or no planets in fire signs, irrespective of planets placed in H1,5,9. What's your experience of this? Enthusiasm levels, optimism, energy, playfulness, etc. Are these areas that feel restricted for you? Anything else you'd like to add, much obliged

My guess would be that the person may fall into one of two extremes: they're either really shy and lack confidence or they overcompensate for their lack of fire and may act very confident to the point of arrogance.

This is just a guess. I don't really know anyone with little fire in their charts.

But you also have to take house placement and aspects into consideration since certain combinations can still produce fiery personalities.

Singleton Neptune in Sag here, my MC is in Aries. In my personal life, I am enthusiastic, spontaneous, impulsive, playful and all the things that are normally associated with a fire sign. I can be shy (Cancer Rising) depending on circumstances, but having Sun, Venus, Mercury in Gemini helps me to be more outgoing with people i'm comfortable with. I also have lots of Uranus aspects which can give the impression of "fiery-ness", as well as a Grand Cross.

My only fire planet is Venus, 0 deg Aries and I am a Pisces sun, so I often act more like a Venus in Pisces rather than a Venus in Aries.

The role this plays in my life is little drive, little ambition. I am hugely water/air so I am very emotional and mental, but not particularly physical or goal driven.

Astra, with all respect, I disagree. I am far from shy, (tho I was in my younger years) sometimes too confident and I do not over-compensate, I am often too layed back!

Fire is represented by just two planets on my chart: Jupiter and Neptune in Sag. They are in the 1st house. The 5th and 9th are both empty.

The kicker is that these planets are in opposition to Saturn, and Square the M.C. I am not ambitious, I am not energetic. But my arse will get in gear if I believe in something, or if it is a practical necessity. I have a high level of education and I have a job (always they have had something idealistic about them or I get unhappy). But sometimes I feel like getting moving is like wading through treacle.

No-one can change personality over night, so making the best of what we are is a resonable compromise option.

In a world where people are rushing around getting stressed by pushing themselves to the limits, does it harm to have people who ask if it is all worth it? And isn't it maybe time for a rest?

I don't have any water planets, btw. My chart is strongly Earth and Air. A practical thinker. The back up crew.

ASTROLOGICAL VOIDS: EXPLORING THE MISSING COMPONENTS IN THE BIRTH CHART by JANIS HUNTLEY.

quote:
My example figures indicate that fire voids are the least common of the four catergories. It is generally assumed that this void conveys a lack of drive, initiative and enthusiasm, or in some cases, due to over-compensation, an excess of these qualities. None of my five examples seems to project an obious lack or compensatory factor.

She then discusses Reagan and how he seems to have "fire qualities kept under control" and who utilizes them only when necessary.

quote:
Fire void people are rarely highly exuberant - unless they are abusing the element - but they are quietly magnetic, assertive and enterprising. They are usually more self-assured and outwardly blances when air is the predominant element. A strong emphasis on water or earth with a little air is highly imbalanced towards the passive polarity and could therefore cause feelings of insecurity, shyness and emotional dependency.

I think the quote from JANIS HUNTLEY. is apt

I have only one planet in leo.But I do have a lot of air.I am ambitious,I am a self -starter but I move a bit slowly at the beginning while I study the situation.I am sometimes subject to doubts but I don't feel a lack of enthusiasm. And I think the doubts are due to the strong Saturn placements

I have Neptune in Sag and Saturn in Leo. My Mars is 0 degrees Virgo so I'm not sure if that can be counted as a fire cusp planet.

Also, I have part of fortune and vesta in Sag, Amor and Karma in Aries.

------------------
Virgo Asc 6˚& Mars 0˚
Gemini Sun 24˚
Libra Moon 14˚(conjunct Pluto 0˚ in 2nd house)
Gemini Mercury 25˚
Cancer Venus 29˚
And yes, i'm a guy!

I agree with most comments.

mars leo 11th
nept sag 3rd
other placements in water or air signs.

but I just learnt that regarding elements, what counts is really the "nature" of the houses and not the signs where the planets are in, isn't it so ?

when I look at my planets placements in signs I see only water and air - little fire, no earth.

when I look at my planets placements in houses, they are at: 6 & 10 (material aspects of life - 5 pl), 1 & 9 (3pl), and 3 & 11 (2 pl). plus house 10 = MC. No emotional houses.

I always thought I lived on the moon, now Im looking for evidence I live on earth with everybody else, and have tried to identify my previous material achievements and abilities to act in this world, which I always thought didn't exist. ( historical lack of self-confidence)

I have the impression my mars in 11th house is looking for expression, but haven't found a way yet.

Im not an enthusiastic person whatsoever. When I reached a minimum balance & structure in my life, between work, domestic and social life, I find extra energy to do physical activities - which I enjoy. But I can from time to time, get very busy, and get things going.

Shyness and insecurity have improved as I begun to accept myself and what makes me different, as my life experience increased and especially as I improved my work skills.

But it's a permanent effort not to dwell in thoughts and mental activities and eventually, to drown in negative feelings.

I have some ambition, but I have been lost about what I wanted, never knew what to do, which direction to follow... And when I think of buying a house or investing time, energy and money to work in the same field for the rest of my life: scary ! lazy !

Im kind of creative but I think its due to lots of cancer, but Im surely no intellectual.

I have one fire sign which is moon in leo and the other one is Saggie in neptune which is retrograde. Venus, Mars, Jupiter and Saturn are all either cancer or picses. I feel so watery! Yuck! I hardly ever feel fiery! Wish I had at least one more. I'm too emotional and feel too much.

Apart from Neptune in Sag I have no fire.

Enthusiasm levels - I can be very enthusuastic and passionate about causes and people

optimism - generally optimistic - again about other people and things, not always about myself

energy - pretty low most of the time

playfulness - I used to be, now I'm a boring old fart.

Interestingly I seem to 'seek out' on a subconscious level the fire that I need in others. My two female best friends and Aries, my male best friend is Aries with Leo rising, Hubby is Leo (God I love Leo men LOL!) and my daughter has Leo rising.

I do need time to recharge from them all though; much as I love them I find them intense.
