How do people feel about their Capricorn rising?

My son has this ~ he also has Sun/Mercury/Venus in the 8th house. Sometimes I forget he is a small child. He seems so knowing. And he is more emotionally mature than some of the adults in the family. Not that this is hard, if you met them, you'd know just what I meant. *weary sigh*

Capricorn gets portrayed as boring (not on LL, I mean in the outside world) but there seems to be such substance with this sign.

My sister is a Capricorn ASC and also Capricorn sun. She has always seemed more mature than her age..although it gets to her head and she has a superiority complex and thinks she's the most intelligent person on earth (she's 18 going on 40). She is also VERY ambitious, goal oriented, and focused..she strives to achieve what she wants and is responsible and independent.

Capricorn rising is the best part of my chart. It does make you look too serious and mature even at a small age but on the bright side you seem like the most competent and reliable person in the room (when a bit older).also, much to my surprise ,it gives people a very good opinion about me,like I can do no wrong.I feel the capricorn rising much more than I feel my cancer sun.and most of my friends are capricorns(but I'll tell you about that later,I'm planning to start an "I love cappys thread")

My partner, his brother, his brother's gf , my partner's mother (suspected) and two of my partner's cousins are all cap risings. When I first met them, they all came across as very mature people. All quite attractive to look at as well. However, none of them are the "depressing' type people, I guess when you get past the ASC, you see what they really are like. Also see where Saturn sits as well. For my partner, his is in leo, he's relatively jolly individual, smiles a lot.

Well it puts me in an intresting position,

on one hand my gemini sun wants to live young and free on the other hand my cap rising makes me serious, dedicated and on time.

I find that I come off as very serious, but once I'm lossend up my gemini side comes out.

My coworkers whould want me to drink with them so I can relax up and show my gemini side.

Theres a problem when your the youngest working with 40-50yrs olds and you take things more seriously then them

I have Capricorn rising and it does make me very serious and mature for my age, I've got my chart ruler, Saturn, in Scorpio, so I can be either very loyal or vengeful depending on the situation.

On my first day of work, my boss gave me tons of responsibility before I had even proven myself. When I asked him for reason, he just said that I look very competent and intelligent so he figures I can handle it.

On the plus side, I sound very authoritative when speaking about any subject--even subjects I know nothing about. This allows me to bluff my way through some sticky situations!

Astra,

I get the same also, I was just reassigned to another another department and another office building.

Everyone seams more confident in my abilities then I think I am.

If something goes bad its practically not me that gets blamed even if I stand up and say its my fault things didn't go right.

I don't know....

Now there is true potential for a Gemini Sun with Capricorn Rising.

Gem Sun myself, but I hate being bluffing my way through anything. I have to feel like I know what I am talking about. It's that Mercury in Taurus tieing me down!

One of the most animated people I know is a Cap rising. Honestly he is like a cartoon character. Another one of my friends likened him to a pinata. He is also irresponsible, can't hold down a steady job (though he is going into Americorps), and is kind of floating right now. He also has a sort of Peter Pan complex (he always says "I DON'T EVER WANT TO GROW UP!").

He has Neptune in the first, conjunct his ASC by 2 degrees and also has Sun (Cap) and Mercury (Aqua) in the first. His Saturn is in Sagittarius in the twelfth.

This is his current Facebook profile pic:

I tend to do enought research before hand to know what I'm talking about then bluf my way.

thats more of a gemini mercury thing thought

Astra,

How do you take it when people put to much faith in you. I mean just as I'm leaving buildings I'm told by one of my coworkers we told then we're sending are best.

I'm thinking to myself bs then give a unconvinced grin. Then they try to reasure me.

Do you find yourself loosening up as you get older? I mean theres a reason why I was working with those guys before I left to another building, it was to loosen up a bit.

One of the guys I work with named Jay,the Server technician, still buys commic books and toys, is that acceptable for 30+ maried sagittarian.

He kinda lossened me up.

I'm a cap rising with sun+venus in scorpio moon in pisces mercury in libra and mars in sag.
In my younger years, I was always the most reliable and mature person in the room...
Everyone always said that I was 10 going on 40.
Even though my sister is 8 years older than me, my parents would leave the house and tell me to take care of my sister while they were gone. I was the babysitter!
I have been self sufficient and idependent since i'm 18. I get absolutely no help from family... Sometimes I feel proud of that fact and other times I feel cheated out of family support like other people receive.
I have always prided myself as being 100% dependent and mature but as I get older, I've been feeling like I need to be less restrained, more free and I've been wanting more and more to break out and be undisciplined and get myself into trouble, be unreliable and a bit of mess....
I feel like always being the responsible one has cheated me out of having fun and being able not to care and being irresponsible.
I want to worry less and party more and still be perceived as being really together.
I'm so sick of hearing "thank g-d we dont have to worry about ScorpioCentaur, she really has her sh-t together.."
I wanna break loose!!!!!!!

bluemoon, for me it's a mixed blessing. I never really did the whole childhood thing - I was like a little adult from the age of about 6. In addition, I've always been a worrier, which is something my poor mother blames herself for. I was always quite a serious child, and always percieved as competent, even when I didn't feel that way.

In addition, I started going grey at 15 - thank god for hair dye....

However, I'm now starting to find out that it's true what they say about Cap risings lightening up and letting go as they age

LOL. Yeah, I hate bluffing my way, too, but I'm often thrown into situations where I'm expected to think on my feet without any preparation. When I'm told ahead of time that I'm expected to know about a particular topic or subject, then I do study it in as much depth as possible. Otherwise, I have to rely on my intuition in order to figure out what to say, but weirdly enough, my intuition usually gives me correct information!

amowls:
That's an interesting picture! LOL. My guess is that the Neptune in first conjunct the ascendant is causing him to live in la-la land, so he's not yet willing to face reality. Mercury in the first gives him traits of Gemini, which can give someone that Peter Pan complex. After all, Gemini is the sign of eternal youth for better or for worse! Hopefully, with maturity and time, he learns to manifest more of the positive qualities of these placements.

Thethirdbenjamin:
When people put so much faith in me, my first thought is: wtf are you guys smoking? When I had zero experience, I was given such an incredible amount of responsibility to the point where if I were to make a mistake, several people would lose their jobs. That's a lot of pressure! This made me very nervous because didn't know what on earth I was doing and was guessing half the time. But it seems like when so many people are depending on me to not screw up, I actually manage to come through and meet (even sometimes, exceed) their expectations, which only confirms their earlier suspicions that I can handle a lot of responsibility.

I guess many Capricorn risings have a lot of self-doubt during their youth (unless they have a very strong Leo influence or something), so this self-doubt causes them to underestimate their own abilities, while outsiders can easily see their potential.

Yes, I'm loosening up as I get older. I was the most cynical and serious child you could ever meet. I didn't smile at all until I was 2 years old! I began planning for college and saving money for my retirement (I thought the whole concept of social security was a lie).

I also balanced my mom's checkbook for fun when I was 6 and for some reason, I always got along better with people that were much older than me than with my peers. I guess this makes sense since most 6 year olds are not interested in balancing checkbooks.

Now that I'm in my 20s, I smile a lot now and I'm surprisingly friendly to the point where people actually say that I have a bubbly personality! When working, however, I'm deadly serious and very focused. I'm also very nurturing towards my coworkers, friends and family whereas when I was younger, I believed that you're on your own in this world and have to stand on your own two feet; never expect support from anyone.

I have this rising and I tend to vacilate between believing this is a good asset for me professionally and believing it's a big WALL between me and other people. *sigh*

Astra,

I thought you were alot older, didn't think your in your 20's. So your pretty much around my age.

But, ya I'm pretty much the same with the savings. I've worked hard to try to be one of a few college students not in debt and have enought savings afterwards.

Its ironic because I'm the youngest in my family, so its not expected of me to be the responsible one but when I am I shine thought.

Its always been me being the youngest experiencing some one taking things responsible,

but its changes since my older sister is more of the rebel type even for a 25yrs old and me having everything in order.

One other thing you feel that the rising adds a pessimistic tone?.

I've always felt that half the time I'm expecting things to be alot worst then they really are and always trying to prepare for it.

Sorta the planing for the worst, rather then reacting to the worst.

Thethirdbenjamin,

Yep, I'm 23 years old. I can seem much older than my age or at other times much younger. My goofy and carefree side only comes out when I'm among friends, though I still won't do anything irresponsible even then.

That's really good that you're saving money. Many college students acquire so much debt on their credit cards that by the time they graduate, they're drowning in debt. Credit card companies usually don't care that you have to pay back all of your school loans...

You're the youngest in your family? Me, too! I looked after my older brother when I was a little kid. He's a Cappie rising, too, but I just matured faster than him. However, now, he is very responsible and mature.
Yes, I think Capricorn rising adds pessimism to the personality particularly when you're young. I usually assume that the worst will happen and I constantly worry about the future. My mom is convinced I will get an ulcer by the time I'm 25. Hehe.

I think this pessimism comes about because Saturn, which is the planet of tough lessons, rules Capricorn, so having this rising sign is like having a constant reality check.

The good news is that I have Sun trine Jupiter, so that has made me more optimistic as I've gotten older. However, the Capricorn rising prevents me from becoming blindly optimistic; I'm still well aware of reality.

Although Capricorn rising can be a pain at times, I'm thankful that I have it because otherwise I would be living in some fantasy world due to my Neptune conjunct ascendant. This Capricorn rising keeps me grounded and makes me very reliable as well as loyal.

My sisters a Capircorn with a gemini rising, so its always been her being viewed as the responsible one, not me.

She looked after me when I was younger, they never rally saw me as capable when I was little then around my teens

it started to change more to how it is in now.

but, thats all changed in the last 5yrs.

I think its has to do with the fact both my folks are cancers.

Anyway I saw your chart, its almost like mine.

Thethirdbenjamin,

It's funny how life changes, isn't it? The way we're perceived can change very dramatically throughout our life. I was wondering, have you faced a lot of setbacks since Saturn is your chart ruler?

I noticed with my chart, it seems like I keep getting pulled in a completely different direction than I intended and my life has never gone smoothly. I think maybe this is due to Saturn and Pluto both being in my tenth house. Both of these planets REALLY force me to work extremely hard in life.

I find that the rising sign really shows its influence when someone is in new situations or just beginning something. It's the mask you wear on the surface. Your Sun is more who you are deep down.

I'm Leo Sun, Cap Rising, Cancer Moon...I have a friend who's Aqua Sun, Cap Rising, Leo Moon. We are both extremely responsible and driven in our careers, more than the rest of our charts might indicate.

I get everything done EARLY and do not procrastinate. I've never been in debt (except some student loans that I paid off while I was still in school, so I didn't owe any interest), bounced a check, finshed anything late, or missed an appointment. EVER. Even though other than that, I am a pretty wild and very Leo/Cancer person, doing things like falling in love and running off to travel the world, or following risky dreams. When I am reckless, I do it responsibly.

The only majour setback I can think of whould have occured
5yrs ago, back in 2003-2004

Wasn't exactly a good year, things just kept on failing for me

I have found one thing always leading to another I set my mind
for a certain path but then that path leads me to another path.

I find that i'm just more volatile to the ebb and flow of things

But anyway from the way it sounds, you've grown
a lot more then I have. Your four steps ahead of me.

You may be underestimating how much you've grown. After all, Capricorn risings tend to underestimate themselves!
