Hi guys,

Does anyone have experience of Pluto transits on Vertex?

Pluto is sitting on my Vertex (29 deg Sag, 5th house), and has been bothering it for a while. I haven't yet found any descriptions about this very aspect on the net. Anyone?

http://www.falconastrology.com/vertex.htm:

How significant is the vertex astrologically? Here lies the debate. Some well-versed astrologers will say the vertex means relatively nothing. Others will say it is a point of great significance. If it does have meaning, what is it?

The vertex appears as a sensitive point linked to fateful encounters with others, seemingly sudden epiphanies, turning points in life and a destiny over which we have no control. Activated, it can synchronize with an experience of another whose effect registers as some degree of profound or extraordinary.

A strongly placed natal vertex (conjunct the horizon, in close aspect to a personal planet, in a critical degree or in the degree of the nodes) can indicate more consistent results.

What activates the Vertex? Three things can trigger, coincide or activate the vertex: transits, people and places.

Transits to the vertex can bring inner and outer events corresponding to a pivotal point, significant encounter with another or a sudden change of perception. The transiting planet activates the symbolism of the vertex, coinciding with a major or minor event. Keeping orbs tight and sticking mainly to the conjunction will bring more consistent results. A transiting conjunction from Mars would likely be more noticeable than a transiting trine from Uranus, although sometimes that is not the case. The magnitude of the effect depends on the prominence of the vertex itself, its relationship to other factors in the chart and the occurrence of other transits, commensurate or disparate. Along with transits, students are encouraged to consider progressions, converse progressions and directions.

Meetings with significant people, as seen through synastry and composite charts, may also link strongly to the vertex. (Think of people as constant transits.) When one person's inner planets or asteroids (Sun through to Jupiter), angles, nodes, vertex or certain Arabic parts conjunct the vertex, there can be a feeling of fate, destiny, rightness or wrongness about the encounter. Something in the contact with that person may have the ability to create profound change in the native, over a long or short period of time. The change may be perceived as pleasing or acrimonious, the conjunction often reflecting the former, the opposition the later.

Our location on the planet can awaken the vertex as seen through relocation charts and astro-carto-graphy. When we relocate, the vertex may become more prominent by changing house or aspect to an angle. The relocation vertex can signify places where meaningful encounters of a particular nature seem to happen more consistently.

What about the sign and house position of the vertex? The house positions of the vertex/anti-vertex can offer clues as to where we may experience turning points, meetings with destiny or fateful encounters in life. As noted earlier, the vertex falls usually between the fifth and the eight house, on the western side of the chart, with the anti-vertex 180 degrees opposition.

In the fifth/eleventh house axis, there could be a propensity to experience fateful romantic or creative encounters (fifth house) through contacts with friends or groups (eleventh house). In the sixth/twelfth house axis, the turning point, or spin out, could effect our day by day living, or our link between psyche and soma (sixth house) through contact with those in the helping professions, those less fortunate or through dreams and creative fantasies (twelfth house). In the seventh/first house axis, sudden epiphanies could radically effect socially significant partnerships (seventh house) through an experience of projecting ourselves out into the world (first house). In the eighth/second house axis, destiny may arrive in the form of an erotic encounter or intense research (eighth house) perpetrated by a desire for pleasure, security or peace (second house).

The vertex/anti-vertex by sign can signify the way we may experience activation to this axis. Aries/Libra could indicate issues between personal will and sharing, where Taurus/Scorpio may be about security verses risk. Gemini/Sagittarius could contrast knowledge and vision, where Cancer/Capricorn could emphasize protection verses enterprise. The Leo/Aquarius axis might highlight self-expression as opposed to group participation where the Virgo/Pisces might compare structured boundaries and limitless longing.

Anyone? Experiences on Saturn/Uranus/Neptune or Pluto on Vertex...?

It's hard for me to separate this one aspect from the rest of the chart.

Some things ruled by the 5th house are love-making, children and birth. Pluto rules transformation, regeneration, generation, degeneration, conception, birth and death.

I have seen two different charts with this transit, both of which were charts of males. In both instances, their wives got pregnant with transiting Pluto conjuncting the Vertex in their 5th house.

And in one chart, the second hit of this transit was the birth of the child. It was a difficult birth because his wife passed away for four minutes during a c-section. They revived her, and she was in a coma for five days. Luckily, she woke up and there was no permanent damage to her. The baby was healthy and survived as well.

transiting pluto is squaring my natal vertex in the sixth house. Any thoughts on that?

as pluto trined my vertex i met a man i had not seen for 40 years, whom i believe to have been VERY significant in past lives, who has influenced the direction of my present life to a degree and who basically electrified me this time...still trying to figure out if there is anything more to it for THIS lifetime...!

It's been rough going in my relationship with my man for quite some time now. Pluto has been teasing my Vertex for a long time (which is so annoying about Pluto, it lingers for such a lengthy period), and this Pluto-Vertex conjunction is exact in my chart this month.
I'm not surprised this would mean the end of a relationship.

But, I also had a very intriguing encounter on Saturday. Nothing romantic, but a remarkable person, nevertheless.
My Vertex is on his ASC (2 deg orb)... His Vertex is in weak conjunction with my Sun.

I'll keep analyzing and I'll be back :-)

Ok, its not a transit, but Solar arc pluto was on top of natal vertex at 0.00 degrees ie right on top the day my virgo man went from "i love you" to no contact with me.

This is in his chart and vertex is in H5

To all intents and purposes it was as though he had died, and it was certainly transformative....

Yes, Melanie, I think you're onto something there...

As for a natal Pluto-Vertex conjunction (as mentioned in one of the posts above), IMO the effect cannot be separated from the rest of the chart. The keyword with transits is CHANGE, which you don't have with a natal aspect.
However, there's bound to be an INTENSE effect when that Pluto-Vertex conjunction is hit by a transit of a slow moving planet...

yeah it struck me as too much of a coincidence especially with the exactness... In fact Im finding all sorts of things with the solar arcs, I think enough to prove a link for my own curiousity... Have no real idea of the interps, but Im doing a lot of research...

I'd like to revive this thread. I have trPluto conjunct my vertex in 5th House...it's been there for a while--and although my love life has been at a stand still for quite some time--there are changes to my career....

Anyone else have this transit--and if so, what happened?

It is in Capricorn.

Not a career in entertainment?

Animals, children, gaming, what all does the Leo House hold?

creative endeavors?

(It's not all about romance...)

Friends, acquaintances, global communications on the converse side.

Leo rules my first house but takes up most of my 12th house...I'm hoping it will be romance! But it's sitting there a while so I guess it could be many things....

Wanted to see what happened to others when this trPluto went over their Vertex..

a conjunction to vertex, is opposition to anti vertex. this goes for every transit, in aspect to all things in your chart, be it angles or heavenly bodies. so each transit will effect both vertex point and anti vertex. look at your 5th and 11th. rulers of these houses, the house ruled by Scorpio. if you do not notice any change, then apply Pluto energy to initiate change. It's one of the most potent and solid energy to shape and reshape your life.

when you look across the dance floor and see two complete strangers and KNOW you will be with them. That is Vertex stuff, like a door where someone walks right on through into your life? How romantic but was the above scenario a scene out of a movie? No, it really happened to me years ago.

Today pluto is transiting my anti-vertex and I have Re Met one of the men in the original encounter. So I looked up the chart of the original meeting to see where the planets were. Expectantly ! my sun is conjunct his vertex but Was there a planet crossing my vertex at our first meeting? Alas, No ! but I did notice I had uranus transiting my venus all those years ago.....i went out with both of these men in rapid succession ! ! since then I have had pluto cross my venus. Called 'Loves Power' that time of my life was rather like the Hobbits expedition into Mordor, in a desperate attempt to throw the one ring into the fire. I nearly died that year at the hands of a lover. Neptune had already transited venus by then so I can well and truly say my little planet of relationship and love is well and truly cooked by now. So why meet this man again? Perhaps to swap notes? I dont know but we are VERY different people now. I would suggest we have learnt the lessons we were here to learn and, although he appears as a warrior would, rising out of the defeat of a very bloody battle, there is a fondness there of indescribable proportion, if not the original horniness and passion (I'm well past my menopause now). Could this be described as 'love' ? Was all the other 'love' that swept me away in times gone by be just desire to procreate, an ancient NEED and nothing to do with the heart......
