i've looked at their charts over and over and over and over... and i just don't get it. what kept them together for 15 years other than my brother and i?

My parents got married May 26, 1984 at 5pm. I haven't looked at the transits for that day, but regardless my parents have had a long marriage of drama, manipulation, and just more drama...

My parents also have nothing that indicates a marriage in their charts, either. They've been together for 23 years. They're not divorced, but they don't hang out with each other, and they definitely don't "get intimate."

I haven`t looked very closely, but they have at least the one aspect, that seems to happen pretty regularly in long relationships.

Ruler of DSC conjunct ruler of IC.

I have no idea why that comes up so often, but your parents have that.

Also I noticed that your dad`s 8th ruler is conjunct your mum`s 2nd house ruler, that could be another very binding thing, after all 8th and 2nd house are fixed houses.

Both 7th rulers in good aspect. Both 5th rulers conjunct....ideal for children.

Both have Scorpio rising with Pluto in Leo. That will be the same with the composite. Manipulation/drama as you mentioned.
