Dear Knowflakes,

Are you identifying with your natal or progressed Moon...? Especially those of you in their 40's or older...?

I am becoming more like my progressed Moon. I have natal Moon in Libra in the 2nd house and progressed Moon in Aries in the 8th house, and I am nowadays quite hot and impatient about my personal life. Things just have to happen my way and right NOW. It's about ME now, on a deep and personal level.

This is quite a change... emphasized by the opposition aspect and the signs (Libra/Aries) of the Moons.

I feel much stronger than I ever used to before and I have a personal voice now, no more merely pleasing others (natural development as we grow older...).

How about you?

Funny you should ask right now!! I have been dwelling on aspects of my progressed chart.

During this part of my life (40+) I am relying on my natal Sag Moon to get me through. I've been really tested with people in my close quarters and so I am drawing on my philosophical, but cheerful and optimistic side to keep my spirits up. It's my Sag Moon that has pulled me through some sticky situations.

Moon in Cancer for my progressed - it's best I not meditate on this aspect, due to a recent rift in my family. It'll be too much familial-related pain to handle for this lil' ole progressed Cancerian Lunarian (or 'tic' - whatever works).

BUT.... in saying that, do we have a choice? I really need to get back to my roots of being a stroppy, out-spoken triple fire sign, like I was in my early days. No-one bothered me then. I could really take care of myself back in those liberated days of the 80's.

AND.... my theory being that I could draw upon my progressed Mars in Scorpio for some heave ho!!

I really need to get that "oomph" back to stop people walking over me.

What do you think about that idea? Can we draw on different facets of astrology by choice?

I think I identify with both.

My natal Moon is in Aquarius in 2nd house,
my progressed Moon is in Taurus in 5th house.

Well, the fact that my Moon is in 2nd house may tie in well with my progressed Taurus Moon.

But yes, I remember having progressed Moon in Aries made me kinda aggressive, when I was forced to do things I didn`t want to do. And it made me become more independent and active. Well, I always been an independent person, but now I actually expressed it, by travelling to some far away locations just to see a particular musical / concert whatever, just because I WANTED it, and of course I had to do it ALONE.

So I guess that was pretty much Arien-Moon-like.

Both

My fundamental emotions are my natal moon, but the predominant emotional responses & day to day occurrences are my progressed moon.

I feel the unfluence of the progressed moon stronger than any transits.

1st house Sag - Had my own place at Univerity

2nd - Cap/Aqu - Gradutaed from uni (studied computing) 1st relitavly high paying job etc......
The pattern continued until my progressed moon went in the 5th house.....nothing happened!! It was a time of feeling cut off from people & very tired with life in general - doesn't match the "cookbook" interpretations!. I think im immune to 5th house energies.

My Natal moon is in Pisces, Progressed is in Taurus - I'm going through a period of self sufficiency & stubbornness.

My natal moon is in Capricorn and my progressed moon is in Scorpio. I definitely feel things even more intensely now.

Hi guys and thank you very much for the replies - I didn't have access to a computer during the weekend, hence this late reply.

Very interesting to hear your comments!

I've read a few times somewhere that the emphasis of the Moon grows in its progressed phase. I don't know the basis of this (and perhaps it's not even right??), but like many of you I also feel it quite strongly.

Hhmmm, I need to think about this some more... :-)

Yes, koiflower, I do think so. When we are familiar with our chart and aware of all the possibilities, we can make conscious choices.
But... as it takes a lot of concentration, I'd think it would only work occasionally (when we have the energy/a good reason to concentrate on it).

I find myself doing that sometimes. I can decide that "today I'll be my sweet Libra Venus&Moon conjunction" and another day I feel that my Mars in Scorpio is needed (when, on a rare occasion, I want something desperately badly).
But perhaps it's not healthy to act like that all the time, just sometimes, when we are in an analyzing mood.

To make the best of all one's personal placements and signs is indeed a great goal!
