In terms of how you express and experience your emotions, you'll reflect your Moon SIGN. So you'd have an Aquarius emotional style and experience.

In terms of the emotional issues/areas of life that consume and obsess you, you reflect your moon HOUSE. So, with a 7th house moon placement, partnerships would be an area of deep emotional involvement for you.

Someone with a 4th house Moon is emotionally involved with issues around famly and creating a home...a 1st house moon, the self and how it asserts itself in the world...an 8th house moon, personal transformation, sex, death and the occult...a 9th house moon would be emotionally involved with philosophy, higher education and travel.

In my experience, they don't so much show the qualities of the signs that govern these houses (although, with Sun placement, there's a teeny bit more of that)...those traits are governed by your moon sign.
