what orb should be used for declination transits? I know that 1 degree is the standard orb for declination aspects in natal chart.
What about declination transits? would the orb be narrower. I have been considering a 30 minute of arc for them. maybe I should narrow it down even more. Using a narrower orb for declination transits seem to make sense like we use a narrower orb for transits in the longitude.
my current declination transits:
Transiting Saturn parallel my Ascendant - '00 separating
Transiting Uranus parallel my Uranus - '27 applying
Transiting Neptune parallel my Mars - '32 applying (getting within orb)
Transiting Pluto parallel my Venus - '37 applying (not too far off)
as for natal declination midpoints, I use no more than 10 minutes of arc. Using a narrower orb for declination midpoints seems to make sense to me like we use a narrower orb for midpoints in the longitude.
my closest declination midpoint is Sun parallel Jupiter/Uranus with 1 minute of arc, Sun parallel Moon/Venus midpoint with 3 minutes of arc ..so Sun = Moon/Venus = Jupiter/Uranus in the delinations. I have Venus parallel Mars/Jupiter midpoint with 2 minutes of arc and Venus contraparallel Pluto/MC midpoint with 4 minutes of arc
I am starting to have doubts about using lunar nodes in midpoints since my studying of planetary nodes. If lunar nodes could be used in midpoints, then why not planetary nodes too. After all, they are all celestial object orbital plane interfaces.
my amount of declination midpoints in relation
varying orbs for declination midpoints(excluding lunar nodes involved with midpoints) I used the Kepler astrology program to determine them.
10 minutes of arc - 6
15 minutes of arc - 11
20 minutes of arc - 14
25 minutes of arc - 18
30 minutes of arc - 21
I would think that using no more than 10 minutes of arc keeps the management of declination midpoints reasonable.
6 is a good amount of midpoints if you take in the consideration of the regular aspects in the declinations. In my case, I have 6. Therefore, a total of 12 declination measurements. Those are a very manageable amount.
I am also figuring out using varying orbs for midpoints in the longitude (excluding lunar nodes involved in midpoints)
opposition,conjunction - 1 degree
square - 30 minutes of arc
semisquare,sesquiquadrate - 15 minutes of arc
this leave me with
opposition,conjunction - 11
square - 3
semisquare,sesquiquadrate - 3
there is a total of 17 midpoints which is manageable amount of midpoints if you take in consideration the regular aspects in the longitudes
I think the aforementioned things would keep the Astrology measurements manageable.....especially if you are using houses and signs which adds more details. If you are using solely planetary geometrical system, then it's even more manageable.
I only used the luminaries, planets and the dwarf planet,Pluto. I didn't use Chiron nor other minor planets.
I am considering the regular use of the dwarf planets,Ceres and Eris.
Makemake and Haumea are other dwarf planets that are worth considering too. My own Haumea is 2'10 conjunct Ascendant and 3 minutes square Midheaven. Haumea named after Hawaiian fertility goddess. Sedna is also very likely to be classed as a dwarf planet too.
