Somehow, I'm just not getting Yods.

The finger of fate, and all that. Not being a big believer in past lives and karma, there isn't much information about that is really getting me to feel what the Yod is all about. Can anyone help me out?

Historical example here, very Saturnian. Do you think she felt 'fated', that she had to fight against her fate?

BM,

Off-topic: Why do you not believe in reincarnation/past life? (Me, I'm a fence-sitter).

Let's say, I'm suspicious of some of the presentations it receives outside of its cultural and religious context.

It's not that don't believe in it full stop, it's just some of it's more unsophisticated renderings sometimes irritate me a little, and I'm disinclined to swallow everything I read without question.

A Yod is a sextile and 2 Quincunxes involving 3 planets.

Quincunxes are not always the best aspect, but a sextile would make the quincunxes better, so not all bad.

Nice and simple.

Yes, that's the simple bit. It's there, on the chart.

But how does it feel? That's what I want to know. Does it feel like a finger of fate?

In this case, a woman used as a dynastic pawn, does she feel bitter, fated, or does she continue to try and exert her influence on life?

How does it feel? Uh?

It feels like the 3 planets and aspects combined. Do each one seperate and add them together.

I've done that. I'm just not getting a feel for this chart, and I thought, maybe I just don't have enough of a feel for Yods.

Wheels has a couple, I'll ask her.

There's something for you on Lindaland Central, btw.

I've supposedly got a Yod also, but I have absolutely no idea how or anything about it - I'd be interested in learning more about it, but the info I've found so far hasn't really been all too helpful.

did anne neville lose her head?? or was she just a player in one of the multifarious treasons ongoing at that time??

i have a yod from my asc to merc in virgo and uranus in cancer. i find the two planets accentuate my aquarian qualities sometimes to the detriment of my leo sun...both sides of the sextile are involved in conjs., one with saturn and the other mars, so they are even more emphasized...its a bit of a juggle between either end but the sextiles DO work very nicely to make it work smoother.

I have a yod.

Venus/nn/saturn/moon at apex, quincunxing neptune and uranus/pluto conjunct.

Not sure what a yod is supposed to do but l do manage to have an incredibly volatile existence, love wise

War of the Roses is a hard period of history to wrap my head around. Like Yods! Thanks for the help. It does make it a lot clearer.

She died of tuberculosis aged 28 midway through her husband's reign. I think she was a feistier character than Shakespeare painted, she tried to get her husband, Richard III, to pick her choice of successor after their son died. He did, then changed it when she died. Or so I'm reading now.

The pressured Mercury and Saturn Oppostion with Mars and Jupiter ~ maybe she didn't feel like anyone was listening to her opinion, it would make sense, the proof is in the pudding. Look what happened when he was left to his own devices, overturning her ideas and action plans (Mars and Jupiter). It all went t!ts up! Anne, I'm on your side. They never listen.

i was mis-placing her. richard III, well i would first off suspect that she died of something that LOOKED like tb!! being married to him must have been fun...! and a completely political alliance?? i know the nevilles were major players in politics in those days, always marrying into royalty and plotting nefarious deeds. so saturn at the head of a yod with jupiter and mars makes a lot of sense...and uranus/pluto square venus pretty much describes the whole family!

I have an "enhanced" Yod, or boomerang, with a planet at the release-point opposite the axis. This mitigates some of the tension from the two base-planets relationships with the apex-planet.

My apex planet is Moon/Pisces/8th. Many people who were born during the years of Neptune/Pluto sextiles have potential yods.

Kim Falconer asked me if I was a mystic ( ). I say both Yes and No. I prefer to operate here in the trenches along with everyone else than be a recluse, voluntarily removing myself from the tides of time.....

I don't know much about Anne Neville, but her Yod might indicate a great deal of security needs (Mars in Taurus, Jupiter in Cancer) at odds with Saturn in the 9th. The 9th house Saturn could express as a rigid traditionalist, a strict adherence to the modes and customs of the day. But with Team Jupiter and Mars pushing that Saturn every day, I could see personal growth (9th house philosophically?) increasing.....
