I am wondering whether the 7th house ruler comes into play when our emotions get in a tizz.

example:
if a person has Leo as 7th ruler, then when they get emotional they suddenly get all melodramatic and act out a Leo persona, even if normally they are pretty chilled out.

I only get melodramatic when my emotional buttons are pushed and i'm hurting... at all other times you'd never seen it. Almost like it's a core reaction, which would fit with the shadow side.

I find it awkward, however, because I have Aquarius on that cusp and so when I think I'm being 'objective' I sometimes offend people by saying stuff like "It happens all the time." or "Your overreacting."

I'm also a non-crier.

I admit I analyze relationships a lot, till the cows come home. Since I know how much I operate based on emotions, I feel good and safe by gathering facts, analyzing, thinking, contemplating, analyzing etc

I know the 7th house includes the marriage partner and rightly so but what this house really represents is the legal aspect of marriage, contracts, legally binding commitments, whether it is a business partnerships or marriage.

The 7th house also includes "open enemies"
Like the police. If you break the law it will be no secret that they will be looking for you. If there's a warrant, that is a legally binding contract.

It's how you deal with the public.

Using this logic if you have Leo on the Descendant it will be important that you conduct yourself (in reference to 7th house matters} with dignity (Sun), you will honor your 7th house contracts/commitments

Now if you have the Moon (emotion) in Leo you will have drama queen tendencies no matter what house it falls into..

Well it's not so much an emotional REACTION, it's more how we are in our inner emotions. How we portray them. Surface emotions and emotional reactions are l think more moon/venus and l act so aries in this way BUT it's when something deep affects me like l'm breaking up with someone... then l get so melodramatic to the extent where it looks like i'm going for the Oscar lol!!!

I'm just wondering if the 7th H, being the shadow of us/AC subconsciously looks for a partner like our 7th because deep down we portray these traits.

I thought the AC was how you conduct yourself in the world, the outer persona and the shadow side was what your core 'inner' emotions looks for in a partner.

I thought l was always Leo rising because l am always so attracted to Leo's and also fire signs. Then l realised that Leo might easily be my 7th ruler hence the attracting of a Leo partner and l am so Aquarius when l read the AC text online, it's just not funny!

I then thought maybe this is why i get so melodramatic out of nowhere... the shadow Leo comes out to play and somehow protect me emotionally?

Am l making sense or not? lol

Maybe l am really Leo rising and my sudden affairs and marriages, change of life and all the aloof and independent side of me is really my 7th house LOL
Maybe the DC is how we are emotionally in relationships because l do portray these aquarian traits massively when it comes to love and closeness.

Interesting. My 7th house ruler is Sag, and yes I get really firey, say things in haste but then it's all gone and I'm back to 'normal' quite quickly - I don't tend to bear grudges.

I think that is because it is our "complimentary opposite" but still a good point.

Lara fire traits are so similar, they get you excited, they inspire you, they motivated you the one big difference between Aries, Leo, and Sag is
Leo's stubborn factor, and
Aries impatience or need to innitiate and/or lead.
Sag's tendency to procrastinate or not follow through and finish.
But all three are positive go-getters.

I just have a feeling that the majority of your stubborness comes from your Taurus Planets and your fire comes from Aries.

Taurus are slow to anger, supposedly..and I am NOT. I get angry quickly , and extremely.. My emotional reactions are pretty deep and even though I appear to have gotten over something, the feeling lingers. I am into revenge, and I can get pretty violent when I am very upset. Maybe that's my Venus in Scorpio talking, or my Scorpio ASC.
