My husband and I have been trying for 2 years now to conceive. All our labwork is normal. However, I have 3 obvious obstacles:
My age (41), a blocked right fallopian tube due to scar tissue from an ovarian cyst removed from that side 9 years ago and a fibroid inside my uterus.

I am having surgery on 12/17/2008 for removal of this fibroid that apparently is large enough to be a reason I can't get pregnant. I would love some insight into and hopefully positive news about the astrological forecast for that day. As well, any insight into the fertility situation w/ my husband would be much appreciated. We are now at a point, once we can start trying again to get pregnant (2-3 months after surgery), where we must strongly consider assistive methods, including IVF. We do remain hopeful and we are still trying!

My info: Birthday is March 3, 1967 at 0946 in Torrance, CA.
(Pisces Sun, Taurus Rising, Sag Moon)
My husband: Birthday is October 6, 1962 at 0035, Monterey Park, CA.
(Libra Sun, Cancer Rising, Capricorn Moon)

We now live in Long Beach, CA, and this is the same city in which surgery will be performed.

Any info/suggestions/sites to visit would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you for being a great resource of astrological wisdom.

Blessings,
Amy

I know you all were waiting for me to reply to this one....

I am about 2 months ahead of you in this process... interesting enough we are both pisces with taurus rising, though I am a pisces moon. I am almost exactly one year older than you and this is my first cycle after my surgery. Having PMS and doubt I am pregnant, sucks..... I was so hopeful.

Anyway, I assume you know all the jargon since you have been trying awhile, me too.
My RE told me that the best chance to concieve would be within 3 months of the surgery. I took the clomid challenge, had all the tests done and we are really good in the big picture so the RE said it just had to be something internally. Well, he did find a lot wrong inside and tried to fix it. He says my left ovary and fallopian are dead and I need another surgery to take them out so the right side will work more efficiently. Plus he will put me on clomid, or as I call it, "the make me a psycho ***** fertility doesn't work pill" I am actaully supposed to be on it now, but I do want to keep my husband as he is a vital part of this process.

Astrologically, I am a total idiot, I actually have no idea why I hang out on this board. I do read and read and still don't get it. So all I can do is tell you what I know medically. YOu will probably have an HSG to see if your tubes are blocked, my right one wasn't. the left one is just floating around, gross... I had a fibroid on my right ovary. A good DNC will help the egg stick better, I had so much scar tissue from a previous c-section he removed my uterus, cleaned me out and put back where it was supposed to be. I guess it got moved as the scar tissue grew. The surgery was pretty easy for me, I felt actaully pretty good the next day, better than I thought I would. Mostly cramping like a bad period.
Next on my list and most likely yours will be a post coital sample to make sure you still have any CM at your age and it hospitable to sperm. You should be put on some kind of fertiltiy drug to increase your egg output. Did you have a FSH level done? Curious, what was yours?

One thing, just because all is well, remeber, your eggs are old and literally, crusty, kinda hard to get penetrated. Funny thing my RE said, the last eggs to leave in your reproductive life are the tough ones. They didn't want to come out when we were 20, and sure don't want to come out now

I guess if that all doen't work, then it is AI or egg donor, both of those are out of the question for us, it is too costly and doesn't agree with us in other ways.

I think it would be neat for someone to compare us and see if it is something in our charts, we are really very similar...
I will send you baby dust and good vibes. Only those dealing with this know how hard it is. If you need anything, venting, questions, I will give you my email address.

Everyday quietly meditate and visualize yourself with the baby, keep saying it will happen, not if or when....

Whew, probably a lot, you are a picses, people think we are weak but really we are the toughest sign of them all! We quietly are the martyr, helping all of our friends while keeping our own problems and burdens to ourselves.

oh one more thing, my doctor said we could start trying again 3 weeks after the surgery, luckily it was exactly when I o'ed.

He said at my age every month was less of a chance and in 5-6 months basically I would really have to go egg donor.

My stats right now:

1:1000 chance to conceive naturally (age related)
1:40 for miscariage
1:80 for a genetic problem

I just know that won't be me and go on. Follow your heart. My psychic pisces self says you will get pregnant.

Thanks for your reply. I have had an HSG, which is how I know my right tube is blocked. Hopefully this can be further assessed and possibly opened during my laparotomy/myomectomy (removal of the fibroid). I also have had a post coital test -- this was fine. I don't remember the exact # for the FSH without looking in my health files, but it was normal.

I have recently returned to yoga practice, which will hopefully calm my mind and prepare my body for surgery. I will return to it as soon as I can after surgery.

I do hope for some astrological insight as well if there is any to be had -- especially regarding my surgery day. As an RN (a labor and delivery RN, no less), a little knowledge is dangerous. I'm incredibly nervous. Hence the yoga.

Blessings,
Amy
