Does this make sense? It seems Mars counteracts the Venus here in both our signs...I don't have my scorpio's birth time so I used the default. Here's his.... quote: Mars in Cancer - Venus in Sagittarius
With Mars in Cancer you have a sensitive and moody sexual energy. Your need for emotional connection must be satisfied in order for you to fully enjoy physical sex. In fact, you are likely to become emotionally attached to anyone you sleep with. It's difficult for you to separate love and sex since they are, for your sign anyway, two sides of the same coin. You have a primal need to nurture and protect both yourself and those you love. This can make Mars in Cancer a sign that becomes too self protective and even passive aggressive in the pursuit of desires. Mixed signals are likely from this sign. When you are in pursuit of your desires however, you're likely to be very romantic. If Venus is in the sign Sagittarius then you love with an adventurous spirit and searching mind. You need freedom in love, that's for certain. Any forced commitment or overbearing lover is likely to send you running for the hills. But at the same time, if a romantic partner can engage your higher mind and click with your ideals and beliefs then you might never get that itch to escape. Then you know you've found a soul mate. Venus in Sagittarius attracts others easily through a fun loving personality and infectious sense of optimism and idealism. Venus in Sagittarius will need a sense of humor in love and may tire easily if romance or sex becomes too predictable. quote: My placements follow:
Mars in Gemini - Venus in Pisces With Mars in Gemini you have a great energy for communication. This power in your words is most assertively used in matters of love and sexual gratification. You have very little problem verbalizing your needs in sex or telling a partner that you want to try something new. Mars in Gemini does become bored quite easily and since this is the planet of action in restless sign romantic pursuits should always have a fresh trick up their sleeve if your desire is expected to last long. Mars in Gemini has a strong intellectual drive so mental pleasure can sometimes be more important than sex. In love, some good pillow talk will be the biggest turn on for this sign. If Venus is in the sign Pisces then you need to transcend the boundaries of physical love and completely surrender your body and soul to romance. You attract others easily with your compassionate and forgiving ways however this sensitivity does make you vulnerable to being easily taken advantage of. Venus in Pisces can confuse sex with love and expect impossible ideals from romance. It's so easy for you to lose your breath and get carried away with a dreamy enchanted world you've created. You may fall in love with someone who another sign would quickly discard. Venus in Pisces is capable of seeing the potential for love in anyone. If someone understands your imaginative, dreamy tendencies and can respect your need to escape reality without using you, then you've found true romance! Any insight, translations? IP: Logged |

LetsDanceYes, sometimes they sound contradictory. Hence the chart owner may find it difficult to get both needs fulfilled by a single partner. My solution would be to try to integrate the two, and this can only happen when both partners are aware of the differences. In your case, his Mars and your Venus are both in water signs (trine aspect). Planets in the same element is a good thing. And then your Mars and his Venus are in complementary elements of air and fire (sextile). That is also a good thing. IP: Logged |

Human beings are contradictory. Mars and Venus aren't just expressions of romantic and sexual preferences. They can create life tension beyond finding a suitable partner. Creatively, intellectually, socially, etc, etc, there are many kinds of frustration that can be thrown in when the aspects the planets make are taken into account. Not to mention the signs and the houses. My Mars is in Aqua Square Venus in Taurus. My husband has Aqua Sun and Taurus Moon. That's me happy partner-wise. But it's not the end of the tension of Mars/Venus.

So is it better, for instance, when both partners have Venus in Air and Mars in Earth ?or is it the other way around- One has air venus, the other has air mars etc IP: Logged |

Thanks, deux. I'm learning the mars/venus connection and you got right to the point. Blue, since I'm really not that knowledgeable about astrology yet, I'm a little lost with your explanation -- it's too high of an overview, thus, a bit over my head... IP: Logged |

Hm, but they're in opposite signs too: Mars in Gemini and Venus in Saggitarius. Doesn't that make the aspect a bit less complementary or something? ------------------ Asc: Scorpio Sun: Leo Moon: Taurus IP: Logged |

BlacklilyOooops! Minus point for me there. I was too focused on simplifying things for her, and I overdid it. Thanks for pointing that out. 5 points for you. LetsDance Your Mars and his Venus are in complementary elements of air and fire (sextile). That is a good thing. The catch is: they are in opposite signs. The opposition (remember each sign has an opposing sign; check the chart and you will see that Gemini is opposite Sagittarius etc etc) indicates intense and exciting sexual chemistry BUT care must be exercised because this could also manifest as jealousy or possessiveness or other forms of aggression.

BlacklilyThank you for the kind words. Believe me, I am still a newbie. I had been in astrology kindergarten till just a few months ago, when I could not even distinguish one aspect symbol from another. I have just recently promoted myself to Primary Grade 1. Yeehaaa! LetsDance Btw, your Venuses are square (Pisces square Sagittarius). It means you may have different views about Venus matters such as relationships, home life, social skills, artistic tastes, expression of affection etc, so you need to make a conscious effort to bridge the differences in these areas. Thanks, Deux. I realize the opposite, (and I personally know many couples of opp combos that get along great and couldn't live w/o the other). So, who's more opposite than a man and a woman? We are the ultimate opposites! LOL! I like that you focussed more on the positive aspects of me and my man's placements until the negative aspects were pointed out. Could I get more feedback on the positives? THANKS!IP: Logged |
