Pluto will conjunct my Sun @ 5 deg Capricorn & curious to know know what it will bring.

What orb do you give for the transit?

What did you experience with the conjunction?

How has your life changed as a result of the transit?

Thanks in advance

Around 2 degrees, 3 at a stretch is the orb I'd give transits. That comes from reading astrologer's opinions and checking out my own transits. So not cast in stone, see how you feel.

As a Sun Gemini I am not going to experience this but I had a whack of the Opposition. It came around the same time my progressed Sun was Square Uranus.

At this time of my life I had several miscarriages, that's the external thing largely beyond my control. Aside from the obvious that I kept trying to have a child.

There was an internal process of questioning my past and my future and what I really wanted from life that is hard to put into words.

The Plutonic part is that I came out of it having shed any hang-ups about my past and grateful for the good parts of my upbringing which were many. But I felt like a truly mature individual, unburdened by the need to try and measure up to someone else's standards.

I never didn't like myself but I like myself better now, I think I am a stronger person who has more to offer everyone.

There always seems to be women reading who are going through the similar painful thing of wondering if they will ever be able to have children. At the time I wrote to an astrologer and asked her that question, she said things might get better after the end of the Sun Square Uranus progression. Spot on, that was when I had my Saturn return ~ and a Capricorn Rising son.

the main thing that happened to me on this transit was - i was born!! no small event, i promise you!!

more seriously, because i have it natally it is with me always so...get used to letting go is my best advice. pluto will keep pushing you till you do so you might as well go with the flow. power issues, or control issues as they are called these days, will be part of it. and you will probably come out of it admitting that there are things you CANNOT control, but that that is a good thing!

simultaneously you will gain a really good insight into your own very considerable power. enjoy!!XX

like the cosmobiologists and uranian astrologers, I would use 1 degree to check out major events. They are said to happen when the orbs are 1 degree or less.

one of the main reasons for that is that they consider midpoins in the cosmic structure.

they would consider any midpoints that are aspecting the Sun. They believe the energies of those midpoints would come into play during that transit

for example

say if somebody has Sun square Venus/Uranus midpoint

transiting Pluto conjunct the Sun can indicate a transformational event that affects the ego/self expression

but transiting Pluto square Venus/Uranus midpoint can indicate a transformational event that affects changes in lovelife.

so the transiting Pluto = Natal Sun = Venus/Uranus would indicate transformation event that affects the changes of the ego through changes in lovelife.

that could be an interp. of course there are many possibilities that fit with the energies.

from astro.com:

Pluto conjunction Sun: Facing the shadow

This is a time of great change in your life, when you will strive as never before to accomplish your ambitions. You will work harder than ever and not allow obstacles to prevent you from achieving your objectives. If you handle the energies of this influence skillfully, you should be able to go far with it, but you should be aware of certain pitfalls.

During this time you can work to remove old outworn structures in your own life and in the lives of those around you, so that all of you can experience a new life. But you must observe two limitations. First, this influence gives tremendous drive and energy, but only for the elimination of the truly old and outworn, not for doing anything you want. And second, it is a transcendental influence. Therefore its energies are not easily harnessed to the purposes of unenlightened egotism. What you do with this influence should be for the eventual betterment of everyone around you, not just yourself. You are the steward of this energy, not the owner. If you use it for purely selfish ends, you will provoke such furious opposition that you will eventually be unable to do anything. Similarly, if you use this energy to remove structures that are not yet ready to pass away, you will be unable to make progress. This influence signifies the need to replace an old, inferior state of being with a new and truly superior state. It does not just arbitrarily replace one with another.

The last point to remember is that you must do something now. You cannot simply sit back and let this time go by without making some changes. If you do not make them consciously, circumstances will take over for you, probably with unpleasant results. You may have to face some aspects of yourself that you do not like, but this is part of the process, and you will find that those aspects are not really so bad. They only looked bad because you have never given them a place in your conscious personality.

Thanks for sharing your experience Blue Moon. I'm sorry to hear about the miscarriages, it must have been a very difficult time for you.

I feel that I have been going through this process (Pluto was recently conjunct my Mars & is currently Square my MC/IC) but I know there are some issues within myself that are still holding me back. I get a sense that once they are resolved then I will fully blossom.

Sounds good! Thanks Katatonic.

Glaucus,
Thanks for your reply. The only midpoint I have to my sun is Venus/Jupiter square at 0.36 orb. Do you know what the interpretation is for that midpoint picture?

Yes

Solar Fire has midpoint intepretations

btw...I have a similar cosmic structure
Venus conjunct Sun/Jupiter midpoint

here is interpretation for Sun = Venus/Jupiter
You are known for your kindness and good will towards others and expression of love is important to you. You are likely to have a healthy and strong body.

I will give you interp for Pluto = Venus/Jupiter
You can express love to large groups of people and become influential and popular. Other people are affected by your expression of happiness and joy.

That interpretation sounds about right (if you omit the word healthy ), thank you.
Did anything significant happen when Pluto went over your Sun Raymond?

I was afraid that you were going to ask me that.

I don't remember...sorry.

I do know that Solar Arc Pluto was conjunct my Sun exact when I met my exgf on January 26, 2006.

I have Sun in 5'20 Scorpio conjunct my Ixion in 5'25 Scorpio(plutino, kuiper belt object)
so Pluto was hitting that as well.

my Sun conjunct true Black Moon Lilith in 5'42 Scorpio with 22 minutes of arc
so Pluto was hitting true Black Moon Lilith as well

My Sun square Pluto/Midheaven midpoint in 6'02 Leo
so Pluto was hitting Pluto/Midheaven midpoint too....not sure if solar arc planet aspecting a midpoint that involve the same planet is significant. some believe it is though

my Sun is also in applying semisquare to Mars/Uranus midpoint with 15 minutes of arc
so Pluto aspects that

Bluemoon i really relate to your description of that transit that i've just been through with Pluto. I am a multiple Sagittarian. I'm stronger now because i've lost alot of the weakness Pluto uncovers in people. It's a harsh transit yes but it gets rid of the belony and makes someone face up to things and become somewhat stoic i would say. I'm certainly alot stronger & mature than most of my friends, but i do come across as harsh sometimes because of this. Clearly some of them aren't ready for the lessons i've learned. I pity them in a way. Existential lessons teach us that we should let go of our material restrictions.
Pluto will destroy your ego, but in return will give you a better understanding of yourself and a much more enlightened perspective. Pluto is great, so is Saturn. These two characters make it impossible for people to get away with mis-doings or mis-conceptions. The truth always comes around for those that are living in a material fantasy world they think is real.
At the end of the day a persons soul is all they've got and all they need. I think Pluto, aswell as the other planets collectively, rules soul.

that would be me. well - let's see, while it was fidgeting with my 4th house, neptune and venus, went to college, dropped out of college, found out my mom was sick, moved in with her and established a relationship we never had, my mother passed away and I was granted custody of my siblings - learned a lot on the street (funny how you avoid this stuff as a youth and get thrown back into it because hey, it's fate), had fun and on we moved from home to home. lots of friends and acquaintensces passed on. i mean - i really had to fend for my family A LOT and start to open my mouth or get rolled over. i also came face to face with every single principle i ever had concerning work, love, family and deemed them totally stupid with no sense at all but fear. i still can't believe we (my siblings and I) were able to pull off surviving in NJ with no mother or father - my siblings are now all grown and productive and living elsewhere. then it went through my 5th house - conjuncting my sag sun and mercury cap - *sigh* - in a VERY difficult relationship that's definitely unorthodox/weird but loads of fun sometimes - well it's fun and difficult now but in the beginning, i just wanted to get rid of it, I definitely didn't have the stomach or strength for it. It's the most adult and real relationship I've ever been in - I normally bail. Met lots of interesting people too and did lots of interesting things. I'm also having fun with some creative things, and became pretty good at suggesting routes (speculation) people could go as far as employment/creativity and such as concerned - i have no idea where any of this stuff comes but i'm definitely a totally different person than i was 15+ years ago. It's been real but pluto in cap will still be conjuncting my sun and mercury as it is now so - best of luck to you. just remember - you can run but you can't hide so you might as well face it. it feels like i'm living a double, triple, quadruple life all at once.

Yup, I know how this feels! I have a natal Sun-Pluto conjunction and, although I'm only 29, it feels like I've lived 3 lifetimes already. Pluto has a funny way of pulling the proverbial rug from underneath you and sending you off in an entirely different direction; ah transformation at its best!

I'm going through the third leg of Pluto opp. Sun and Opp. Merc (Pluto transiting 5th, opp.the 10-11 cusp)- let go, let go, let go, and hold your breath. Or don't because nothing is permanent.

So far, during these transits (that I know of) I've experienced 4 moves, three job changes, angry male bosses (Aries moon female here- yeah, I don't know how to submit), an apt. fire and a car crash.

All leading to: shattering much of my ego, letting go of many of my judgements, humility, greater creativity and creative confidence,a greater ability to just flow with life, admitting I am weak when I am, yoga, inner peace, reading Eckhart Tolle and a stronger sense of self.

It's been kind of fun- um, in the long run I mean. I'm almost excited for the Pluto opp. Venus coming up- I know at the end of it I will be so much more loving and creative and confident. And I need to get laid, so it might take care of that issue as well :P
