I'm going through Saturn squaring my Sun right now and it really does suck. During this transit you tend to have conflict with authority figures and suffer from low confidence. Good luck on yours!IP: Logged |

Ah well. I have Saturn conj my Sun now, and my Sun is in the 5th. It's sucking. It's supposed to be helping me focus but it's messing with my love life and slowing it down, and also making artistic inspiration hard. It'll be done August 2009. When it first hit my chart, I had a HUGE blowout with my ex-husband and we got a divorce shortly afterward. Saturn is also squaring my Neptune, which sits in my 7th house, so this makes sense.Anyway, it's just an annoying aspect. Makes you lonely I think, in a way, and is isolating. I have a 6th house stellium and once Saturn gets off my sun he's going to be hitting THAT, so I am not looking forward to it. I hate Saturn. I hate hearing how he's about discipline and 'learning'. I just think that's a load of crap sometimes because it seems like the whole point of the lesson to see how you deal with annoyances. I've got enough problems! IP: Logged |

That sounds really terrible. I know what you mean about Saturn. These transits take way too long.In my question, I forget to put in the aspect - it's a conj I'm worried about. My Sun is in Virgo in the 2nd house, almost on the border of the 3rd. I'm about to start learning a new career so it makes sense that discipline, learning, and responsibility will be bearing down on me. Interestingly, my last t.Saturn conj n.Sun I was just starting a new job that was a lot of pressure at first but it turned out to be very good for me for several years, until my t.Saturn square n.Sun. Am I reading this correctly? IP: Logged |

Jai, yeah, it makes sense. I also had an astrologer tell me that when Saturn hits your Sun it casts light on the house opposite of it. For me it was first love life (5th house), but also my opposite house, the 10th (career), which has Jupiter in it and is really in the central focus of things now. So many of my decisions lately (and even regarding personal sacrifices in love) have been boiling down to career...not just in the job sense. I've got a Jupiter return to look forward to as well, which casts light onto my 5th house...maybe a little blessing in my love life...sigh.In your 2nd house, I'd say finances and even your physical body are being highlighted. Casting light on your 8th house...anything with inheritance? What's going on in your 8th house? I would say a lot of what might be getting looked at has to do with sexuality and the 'deeper mysteries of life', so to speak, making you more serious about them. I'm just rambling here, tell me if I'm making any sense LOL. IP: Logged |

MyVirgoMask,Yeah, Saturn does suck big time. Through all of the Saturn transits I've learned only one thing as you've said: how to deal with annoyances. It also doesn't help that Saturn is my chart ruler...

Astra, I would think it gives you an 'edge' over Saturn if it's your chart ruler...but the old man does like to find new, unique ways to torture us mere mortals lol. IP: Logged |

isn't the point of saturn to help us get rid of our fears and limitations? i think of it as exacerbating our problems, and yeah, annoying us, but the annoyance is our reaction to our own feelings and beliefs, isn't it?i had transiting saturn opposite my sun about two years ago. all i remember distinctly about that time is that i was really bored and living in a crappy basement suite with my baby and feeling lonely.. yeah. interestingly, it was very dark in there and the ceilings were LOW. very much the imagery of saturn stifling the expansive sun.

MyVirgoMask,Lol. You have no idea how right you are about Saturn coming up with new ways of tormenting me. The things that have happened to me sound like they came straight out of a movie, so I am REALLY dreading my Saturn Return even though that won't happen for several more years. It doesn't help that my Saturn is in Scorpio...ugh. Heart cakes, You painted the perfect image of Saturn. That sounds like a fairly bleak time in your life. Don't you just love Saturn? Hopefully things have gotten better since then! IP: Logged |

ahh thanks, astra! well i dunno if this is a heckuvalotta difficult transits at once or what but in the past few years i've had:pluto transit conjunct neptune, AC, and venus saturn opposite sun saturn return (in the 8th, intense!!) chiron conjunct sun, mercury and mars and now saturn conjunct NN and square neptune i know there have been a couple more big ones i can't think of. but yeah things have been crazy difficult. the silver lining is that i've learned a LOT and i'm a much stronger and more confident person now! hey if any of you haven't read it, the book SATURN - a new look at an old devil by liz greene is really great. heartcakes, I agree - your image of Saturn was spot-on. Bleak, oppressive, and claustrophobic...I got a very dismal feeling from the picture you put out...my regrets to what you had to endure Low ceilings and basement apartments alone make me feel insane.I do agree that Saturn helps eventually. It's just that it SLOWS everything down that you don't really want slowed down...and even if it's a good thing to slow down, with Saturn it's like unnaturally slow (Aries moon talking...but even my Taurus rising is rolling its eyes at Saturn LOL) Astra, my first Saturn Return was not bad at all. I had all this terror associated with it, and it turned out to be a surprisingly pleasant time...I spent a lot of time alone then, working on my first book, and really enjoyed my own company A friend of mine was saying that Saturn's effects are especially felt (for better or worse) if they make an aspect to your ascendant, and it wasn't at that time. So maybe check and see if it will make any contact to it, because that might determine the degree of discomfort. Just a thought.
I have Pluto square Pluto happening 'til Dec. 2010. I hear this is BAD. It has been bad for me, though also enriching. I saw that it's 'officially' starting though in another couple of months, which has me rather alarmed. Pluto in the 8th has been squaring my sun for some time now, but it's moved to the 9th and the degrees are pretty wide now, so it's not AS bad. Squaring my natal Pluto though, it's already happening. Man, who knows anymore. These transits are turning me into green mold LOL. IP: Logged |

MVM,Thanks for your interpretation. That was interesting what you said about casting light on the opposite house. I will consider that. IP: Logged |
