My understanding is that the characteristics of your children & likelihood of having children can be seen by looking at a combination of :

-Planets in the 5th house
-The ruler of the 5th, its position & aspects
-The Sun (being the natural ruler of the 5th house)& its aspects
-Asteroid Ceres for nurturing ability
-Asteroid Child (4580)

In placidus my 5th ruler is cancer/moon. Moon in my 12th conjunct AC and trine jupiter in my 5th. Sun in 1st. Ceres in 7th but amazingly, CHILD is in 9th and forming a grand trine between moon/venus/saturn/nn/AC in my 12th and jupiter (natural ruler of 9th house!!) in the 5th LOL
WOW... l guess that is why l have 3 kids, no?

That must be significant... would it mean that i'm fertile (moon) and have ease and luck in conceiving/giving birth to kids (child/jupiter). I am exceptionally fertile.

You do indeed sound like a fertile mama!
Is there any correlation between your children's signs & your 5th house placements?
Do your children have Aries, Cancer, Sagittarius or Pisces (and related signatures) dominant in their charts?

My mother had a son when she was 15 years old,but she was forced to give him up for adoption. She ran away to San Francisco where she met my father who was a black man who was 13 years older than her. She had me at 17 years old. She got a hysterectomy when she was 23 years old because she had cervical cancer that spreaded. She couldn't have any children after that. She had to deal with my special education needs in regards to my Dyslexia and Dyspraxia. There was a lot of frustration that she had when I was a little child..especially when I was placed in special education with the mentally retarded in 1st grade. She was relieved to find out that I was highly intelligent child and placed the year after in a special education for people with learning disabilities. She was glad that I was mainstreamed by 3rd grade never to return to special education. She didn't tell me about my half brother until shortly before I went on WESTPAC deployment (I was in the navy) when I was 21 years old. She only told me because she got back together with her son's father over 22 years later. She was afraid that I would find out the truth from others in the family. The relationship only lasted a couple of years,and it was very dysfunctional.

I believed that my mother had an overprotectiveness about me because of the loss of her firstborn son,our shared experience with her being shot and my being there at the time,and my being a special needs child that needed special attention and care in general.

My mother has very bad health problems. I am there for her,and she count on me for support. She asks me for money a lot,and I just give it to her.
This fits with her 5th house ruler Venus in 2nd square Neptune in 5th,parallel Jupiter as well as her Moon in 5th trine Venus-Uranus in 2nd. I would even say her Saturn in 5th trine Jupiter too. I have Sun in 2nd trine Moon in Pisces in 6th which would seem to reflect my financial support to my mother. In some ways, I am a mama's boy in that I care a lot about my mother and her problems effect me a great deal. However, I don't let her run my life. When I get married and have children, they will come first. I believe that when I have a child,he/she will be the most important person in my life. I have Child conjunct Pluto in Libra in 1st with only 11 minutes of arc sextile my Neptune in 3rd.

My mother's child nodes:

Geo North Child Node in 26'55 Leo in 3rd
Trine Africa in 26'06 Aries in 10th

Geo South Child Node in 9'15 Aries in 10th
conjunct Eris in 8'46 Aries in 10th
(children that are divergent, connected to diversity.................I have Eris sextile Midheaven-North Node Node trine....also Sun conjunct South Eris Node. )....my mom has Saturn conjunct South Eris Node in Scorpio in 5th which fits right in with my Sun-Eris Node in Scorpio quincunx Saturn

Heliocentric Child Nodes in 19'43 Virgo/Pisces in her 4th/10th. Child karma in the areas of domestic environment and career.

She has Karma in 3'09 Cancer conjunct her Jupiter in 4'29 Cancer, and that trines her Saturn in 3'04 Saturn in 5th. That seems to indicate karma involving children. My Moon in 3'10 Pisces forms a very close grand trine with her Moon trine Karma! Talk about karmic connection

1.The ruler of my 5th house is Pisces.
2. I have Neptune in my 2nd House. It is conjunct my Moon, trine my Sun, and square my Venus and Mars, Trine my Midheaven and of course sextile my Pluto.
3. My Sun in my 6th house. It trine my Moon and Neptune and Midheaven. Its square Jupiter and opposes Pluto.
4. Ceres is in Pisces in my 4th house.
5. Child is Taurus in my 7th house.

Ceres and Child look promising based on the house placements but the whole Neptune and the 5th house thing look a little creepy.

I don't have kids either, but let's see what I might potentially have.

1. Moon is in Aries in the 5th
2. Aries rules the 5th- Mars is in Leo in the 9th forming a grand trine with my Aries Moon in the 5th and with Uranus/Jupiter conjunction in the Sagittarius in the 1st.
3. My Sun is in Virgo conjunct the MC and Venus, squaring Jupiter/Uranus in the 1st and Chiron in Gemini in the 7th, sextiling Saturn in Scorpio in the 12th and Pluto in Libra in the 11th (loosely). Also sextiles the Child asteroid.
4. Ceres is in Aquarius in the 3rd and it is retrograde. Ceres does not make any aspects to anything else in my chart.
5. Child asteroid is at 1' Cancer in the 8th house. It sextiles my Venus/MC/Sun conjunction in the 9th and 10th houses, trines my Pluto/Saturn conjunction in the 11th and 12th houses, and LOOSELY squares my Moon in Aries in the 5th (6 degree orb)

Not sure what all that means... Most I can get out of it is a heavy cardinal sign influence, mostly Aries and Cancer, since the Moon is in Aries in the 5th and the Child asteroid is in Cancer. Plus, Mars is in Leo, which relates back to the sun...

Problem with my chart is that most everything is in the first and last degrees of the signs, so almost everything touches everything else. Ceres is actually an oddity, in that it is in the middle degrees of a sign.

my grandson, whom i have babysat about 40 hours aweek since he was a year old, is a late scorp (smack on my mc) with taurus moon(smack on my IC!!) and mars in libra - these are the signs where HER non-ffire planets are! her uranus is in her 4th and his in his 11th(he is aries rising) her 5th house is cap, which is one sign NOT in his chart..

The strange part is my Child asteroid is conjunct my Sun and Mercury in the 8th house, so all aspects to my Child asteroid are the same as my natal Sun, I wonder what this means?

Well, let's see shall we?

First off, my Mom...

5th house: Libra rules the 5th, but Mars is in Scorpio in the 5th with a loose opposition to her Moon in Taurus in the 11th, sextiling Venus, Chiron, DC, trining Asc and Uranus in Cancer.

Ruler of the 5th: Venus in Capricorn in the 7th conjunct Chiron and DC, they oppose Uranus.

Sun in Aquarius in the 8th, conjunct Child in Aqua in the 8th, sextiling Jupiter in the 10th in Aries, trining Saturn in Libra in the 4th, squaring Moon in Taurus in the 11th.

Child is in Aqua in the 8th, aspecting all the same things her sun does, except that it also trines her Neptune more closely.

So with relation to ME:

My Child conjuncts her Asc.
Her Sun and Child conjunct in Aquarius over my Ceres.
Her Ceres is in my 4th house opposing my Mercury in the 10th.
Her Moon squares my Mars. (Both of us seem to have Mars/Moon connections in our natals as well).
Her Venus (5th house ruler)/Chiron/DC trine my Venus/MC/Sun.

So, again, I still see a lot of the cardinal sign stuff, and the cardinal houses (1st/4th/7th/10th)... I just have more of the 10th and 1st and Aries and Cancer, whereas she's got more of the 4th and 7th and the Libra and Capricorn.

Her and my Brother:
My Brother's Moon and Pluto in Scorpio conjunct her Mars in Scorpio in the 5th.
His Ceres is in his own 7th house, conjuncting her 5th house ruler Venus/Chiron/DC in her 7th house.

Their Childs don't aspect each other at all, though they are both in fixed signs, with hers being in Aqua, and his being in Taurus. They still seem to have the cardinal houses and signs theme going on.

My Dad:

I don't have a birth time for him, but I can at least look at the placement of Child and Ceres...

His Ceres is a 6' Capricorn, conjuncting my brother's Ceres at 5' Capricorn. My Dad's Child is at 28' Gemini, conjuncting my Child at 1' Cancer and trining my Saturn at 0' Scorpio. My father also has an Aries Sun and Cancer moon.

My Dad's NN is in Libra, my NN is in the 7th house, and my brother's NN is in Aries. My Mom is the only one without some sort of cardinal influence to her NN (she's got Pisces NN in the 9th house).

I guess we're just a very cardinal sign family, despite the fact that my father is the only one with a cardinal Sun. However, my Mother, Brother, and Father all seem to have fixed sign aspects to each other as well, whereas, I don't (most of my chart is mutable).

Also, look to planets in Leo, the natural ruler of the 5th house of children. You can also look to the 4th house, planets in the 4th by sign and aspect, the ruler of the 4th house by house, sign and aspect, planets in Cancer and the Moon for family.

I have Saturn in the 5th Leo, my wife has True Node in the 5th taurus.

My wife could conceive only after my Saturn return was over.

My firstborn has a Capricorn Ascendant and Capricorn Moon, ruled by Saturn. His Sun is in the 5th Taurus and his Saturn is weakly conjunct my Saturn. [Amazing isnt it?]
He and I have Asteroid CHILD conjunct precisely. I saw him in my dreams atleast 5 times before his birth.

My second baby has a Leo Ascendant with Sun conjunct Saturn. Her Asteroid Child in Taurus is exactly quincunx my wife's Child.

So both my babies are very much connected to my 5th House, my wife's 5th House and to Asteroid Child.

iv got my 5th house in sagittarius, the ruler, jupiter is in cancer. i think thats good for kids. unfortunately... i got saturn in the 5th, which is in its home sign, capricorn, conj with uranus and neptune in capricorn too.
