....find themselves explaining their behaviour astrologically to people who have no idea what you're talking about - only to find them staring at you blankly and followed by a long, painful silence.Thank goodness for all our fellow astrology lovers here. All I have to do is say, it's my Mercury in Aries (or choice of natal or transit explanation), and you all understand that I have the attention span of a pea and all is understood. It doesn't quite work the same way in day-to-day life. IP: Logged |

YES. I know what you mean. LOL. In addition, I get the blank looks a lot of the time when I'm not talking astrology. My Mercury in Libra is all over the place, looking at every side and then conj. Pluto so of course it has to be all obsessive about every side as well. Round and round and round we go...wheeeee!!! Since I've started really getting into astrology, the blank looks have been accompanied by , "Ah, OMG, STOP. My head's going to explode!"teehee IP: Logged |

I can relate! I also will start describing someone's behavior based on they're own natal chart, and they just think I'm just BS'ing! Especially since they are not even familiar with they're own natal chart!------------------ Sun - Leo Moon - Pisces Ascendant - Sagittarius IP: Logged |

ROFL. Yeah, I'm familiar with the blank looks when I'm talking other things too. Glad I'm not the only one.IP: Logged |

Oh, LOL. I learned a few years ago to not even try to explain. By the time you finish explaining that it's more than just which sign the Sun is in and that there are other planets and aspects, etc, it's just too hard. And if they don't want to know, they're not gonna know. Funny thing is - that you end up looking like the strange one by trying to teach them something about astrology.IP: Logged |

It's interesting though - that most people, given the opportunity, love to hear about themselves.IP: Logged |

Yeah, I know what you mean, PA. I often don't even bother. But then I know of a few people who have to go and ask questions like, Oh, it's not about sun signs? So what else is there? Can you tell me more about astrology?AGGHHH, Pandora's box!!! IP: Logged |

Pandora's Box is good, MVM. Because once they can get past that only Sun signs business and into asking questions, they're hooked.IP: Logged |

Tell me about it. It gets exhausting. If you try to send them to astro.com or cafeastrology, so they learn more about it - on their own - they practically refuse to check it out, or they say they wouldn't have the time bla bla bla.. They basically want quick answers to every single astrology question known to man lol It's like "I can't give you a comprehensive astrology course in the next 30 min *pulls hair out*" The thing is my Pisces Jupiter on MC gets totally sucked into explaining things.. It's so difficult to pull away and stop explaining. IP: Logged |

I generally avoid speaking of astrology until I get a good handle of how interested a person may be in it. many of my friends aren't, so the only place I talk about it is in LL really. thank goodness for LL.IP: Logged |

I hate it when people think your crazy for believing in astrology. It's funny, because they always know nothing about it, and it's kind of hard for me to explain sometimes.

yeah exactly.. cuz to explain it efficiently you have to cover SO much ground.. and most people it seems have some sort of bias against it. and yeah it really sucks that NO one i've ever met who just 'doesn't believe' in it even knows a thing about it, beyond the stuff in the newspaper. and then to be considered crazy..
