Since the old thread is lost, I'm starting a new one that continues on from where the old one left off.

A bunch of us were tring to speculate as to what kind of natal chart the character House would have if you were to guess...and there was some discussion of what his Asc would be...the post below was created before the last collapse of the forum and saved on my PC...so for all those interested lets continue the disscussion on his potential fictional natal chart...

So is House’s Asc Gemini or Sag…

I definitely see some Gemini energy in House, more so then Sag. I have a stellium in Sagittarius and I tend to be idealistic in an enthusiastic romantic type of way, not cynical and matter-of-fact like House. Sags are also very trusting, straightforward and positive…and sometimes clumsy and naive. Even when they are outrageously blunt (which they can be) it is usually done in a thoughtless oblivious sort of way, and when they realize they’ve offended someone they’re sorry. Not that Sag’s are stupid, they are some of the smartest people out there when it comes to understanding concepts and technical things, however they are usually guileless and good natured (a lot of Scorp or Gemini in the chart may alter this somewhat). House is a sharp thinker and blunt on purpose. He does it to dig at people or manipulate a situation to get his point across. He plays games and winds people up. He even ignores morality defiantly at times in order to get the job done or solve the puzzle (Sag types are usually obsessed with right and wrong, but Gemini is capable of disregarding that for the sake of solving a riddle). This is very Gemini like to me, with a bit of Scorp thrown in. That’s way I was thinking of a Gemini Asc and a Scorpio mars for the character.

The signs Gemini and Sag are both associated with humor. Gemini’s humor is dry and glib, and involves lots of play on words and witty remarks etc. Sag is more slap-stick and ridiculous, often involving wild gestures and silly faces, as well as statements and remarks that are funny, not because they are so clever, but because they are just absurd and unexpected. I’ll admit, House has tinges of both in his humor, but the dry Gemini type is the one that dominates for sure. So I say Gemini Asc with some Jupiter aspect in his chart. Perhaps Jupiter opposite Mercury…he can ‘see’ how others are caught up in their pre-programmed morality and has the ability to separate himself from this in an objective sort of way. He also finds humor in the ‘obviousness’ of others, and when something unexpected happens he just has to figure out why. So I say Aqua Mercury opposite Leo Jupiter. If House were in his forties or early fifties (the age he seems) Uranus would also be in Leo, so then we could also have a Jup-Uranus conjunction in Leo opposite Aqua Mercury which does fit the ‘puzzle solver with a brilliant intellect’ pattern very well. The Leo Jupiter/Uranus would also give him a sort of pride in his expertise, a ‘yeah, I’m the best and I know it’ type of vibe, and a certain teasing playfulness and quirky outlook . The opposition occurring in fixed signs explains his element contrary stubbornness too. And with Gemini rising the Leo Jup/Uranus conjunction would fall into the 3rd house of intellect… He’s also good at seeing patterns which is a Sag/9th characteristic… so I say Mercury and/or sun in Aqua in the 9th for broad understanding…

So far for MY fictional portrait of House I have…

Asc Gemini (trine sun for compelling ‘presence’)

Sun Aqua 8th or 9th house (square Neptune for addiction)

Moon Aries 10th or 11th house (tightly square Saturn for emotional inhibition and some denial, and quincunx Pluto for awkward intensity. But widely sextile sun...like with a 7 degree orb for self-assurance)

Mer Aqua 9th house (opposite Jupiter/ Uranus for intellectual brilliance and sense of humor)

Ven Cap 8th house (8th house Venus suites him better then a 7th house one, I've decided)

Mars Scorp 6th house (sextile Venus...even though he's not conventionally attractive he has... charisma..., Mars square Uranus/Jupiter opposition Mercury for being confrontational and difficult)

Jup Leo 3rd house (conjunct Uranus for skewed morality, throws spanner in works at times)

Sat Cap 7th house (in 7th for being lonely at heart... has lots of barriers to get through before he can open up in relationships)

Uran Leo 3rd house (in 3rd for hightened intellect)

Nep Scorp (Neptune in the 6th house makes him a healer at work)

Pluto Virgo (I decided Pluto Leo might be too old for him, so Pluto can quincunx the moon making him awkward about emotional intensity, also Pluto in Virgo in the 4th house for a difficult childhood, with some abuse)

Pisces MC (ruled by Neptune in the 6th for healer in the medical field)

Chiron in Gemini (conjunct Asc) or Sag (conjunct the Dsc) or in Aqua (conjunct the Sun)

Here's the simplified version...Asc Gemini, Sun Aqua, moon Aries, Mer Aqua, Ven Cap, Mars Scorp, Jup Leo, Sat Cap, Uran Leo, Nep Scorp, Plu Virgo.

Hmmm…what do you guys think?

Of course it’s entirely possible that I’m picking up on Hugh Laurie’s own Sun and Mercury in Gemini, and moon in Leo, and that this is the reason why I’m so convinced that the character has a Gemini Asc with some Leo elsewhere in the natal, along with the other placements I speculated on….

make it Sun in the 8th, with Venus - for solving misteries, and enjoying puzzles.

the 9th would make him a 'professor', lost in his theories and far far away from actual stuff.

certainly not a 7th venus such ppl are never without a partner.

Mercury can't be Aqua; those are idealists, theorists - 'good for all', 'peace in the world', 'save the wales' kind of ppl. like my ex who told me about some discovery documentary with tanks while I was having an emergency surgery. definetly not Aqua Mercury.

he has a certain gift for seeing the big picture, made of several tiny details. The opposition to Jupiter can't explain that - so I'd say Sagg Mercury. In some aspect with Uranus (I forgot if you had one) for thinking 'out of the box'.

His Sun must be in some square aspect to Jupiter and Uranus. he's so full of himself, and he certaily is odd. Aqua men aren't odd - just look at Robbie Williams (and my ex )

not bad, not bad at all!

PS he's not a real person; some writers make him do and say stuff, so we don't have to obey any rules! these planets can be anywhere.
