Hey Carlo (or anyone else w/ an opinion on the matter) -

You said, "And remember something about Virgo that Linda Goodman said. They are the least seduceable sign. You never quite fully "get" them. And Sylvia Brown, the renowned psychic, says that Virgo and Libra are the sl*ts of the zodiac. (...) Yet I think what she means is those signs are the least likely to be truly and completely possessed by another."

Would you then say that Pisceans (being the polar sign to Virgo) almost need to be possessed, if not by love then by something?
Or would you say that Pisceans take a cue from their earthy bros and always have a part that's unpossessable? Or that it's a heady mix of the two - that that they have this need or want to belong to someone, but also have a bit or two that's not readily reachable?

I've just heard conflicting opinions, and was wondering what you as a Virgo or what anyone else has to say on the subject.

Hi Proxieme
This may help to explain some of the differences.
Using the Ascendant/Descendant as examples....

Virgo Rising~Pisces on the Descendent

Virgo on the 1st House cusp.
The face you show the world is generally shy, reserved and analytical. You can feel uncomfortable in social situations or where you feel you need to 'prove' yourself. You have an eye for detail and an astute sense of what works and what doesn't. You will tend to be very particular about how you look and how the world views you. You can be self critical to a detrimental point and will generally not want to do anything until you know you can do it well. You are watchful rather than reactive, reflective rather than spontaneous and you need to feel in control of your environment. You are likely to be very health conscious or utterly in rebellion against it. You are a natural healer and will tend to draw the wounded and be more comfortable with them. You can feel a driving need to create perfection. You have a self-depreciation sense of humour that catches people off guard. You are a giver and a nurturer. You enjoy helping and being of assistance and will usually excel when you can take on jobs or tasks that make you feel you are making a contribution. You are always doing something....and tend to not let your guard down or relax in social situations.

Pisces on the 7th House Cusp
For all the control and the focus on details that your ascendant radiates the face you show to your intimate others is profoundly different, dreamy and romantic. This is the you that only those who get close to your heart see. You have high and idealistic romantic needs and are attracted to the poetic and the visionary. There is a soft and gentle side of you that exists in a world of fantasy and hope, that seeks unconditional love represented through the physical intimacy of a union. Of all the rising sign axis's you have to be the most careful of who you connect intimately with as both your rising sign and your descendent tend to feel the need to give and sacrifice and can settle for those who ultimately are wounded and cannot support your emotional or physical needs. Working on self esteem and inner worth allow you to help those who need help without embracing them in your heart and as intimate partners. Using the discretionary powers of your Virgo rising to filter through possible partners will keep your empathic and compassionate personal side safe.

Now here it is the other way round.....

Pisces Rising~Virgo on the Descendent

Pisces on the 1st House cusp.
The face you show the world is mystical, fluid, artistically expressive and often times insecure. You react to nuances and energies that most others cannot see and cannot tap into. You see dreams where others see reality. You feel emotions where others hear words. Most others see you as easy going and mild. You are occasionally timid and unsure of who you are and where you're going. You will tend to mirror your own feelings and thoughts onto the people you meet up with in life and often connect psychically with casual associates. It can be difficult for you to be in a big crowd or group of people as you tend to 'feel' the reactive and emotional energy that come together under such conditions. Sometimes life seems like a detached dream....at other times it is too starkly realistic and grounded. You can have a difficult time motivating yourself to go after your objectives. There is a good chance that you are artistically or poetically inclined and if so can easily bring your talents into your world through your rising sign and its strong points.

Virgo on the 7th House Cusp
For the gentle atmosphere that your rising sign expresses there is a much stronger and more protective inner personality that holds the space of discipline, sacrifice and standards in place. Your intimate partners know the person behind the person who carefully maintains certain parts of your life with diligence and analytical processes. With this rising sign axis chances are good you can be either too sacrificial in regards to relationships or you can set extremely high standards and refuse to modify them. Being alone is usually preferable to accepting imperfections. Because your rising sign will tend to attract wounded and a generally dreamy and poetic type if you are living in your rising sign your Virgo 7th house is quickly disillusioned by the lack of dependability or the deep and sore wounds partners generally possess and is left feeling hurt and distrustful. Acknowledging your need to help and love unconditionally must be balanced with setting and standing by certain standards without denying yourself the inherent right to experience the joys and gifts of true commitment and partnership.

Hope that helped

Sue

Hi Corri,

I would say the heady mix of the two. Pisces do like to be possessed, I believe, yet since they are represented by two fish *swimming in opposite directions*, and are Mutable, they can change their mind and float away to the next situation (read: guy) just as easily. Yet they are fairly easy to catch, in my experience. I wrote a poem about it, if you'd like to see. It was published a few years ago in the NCGR Boston chapter newsletter:

http://lovestarz.com/zpipoem.gif

I was at a Pagan gathering in 2000, and she had healing hut duty (everyone has to contribute two hours when they arrive at this particular gathering, a week in Maryland every June). I spotted her, and used astrology to catch her on the spot. I had a little bruise on my foot from the swimming pool, so I went over, popped my foot up on the bench, and said "Can you pwease help me?" We spent the rest of the Summer together.

I have a good friend, a Pisces girl with a Virgo Moon, married for four years to a Virgo guy with a Pisces Moon, and they are terrific together.

Yet generally speaking, you can gain insight about opposite signs when you analyze one sign. For example, Leo girls are the easiest to pick up...so what is naturally the most challenging sign to capture: Aquarius! Virgo is the least seduceable, and I meant over time, the least likely to remain seduced, even if they fell hard in the first place, disillusionment usually sets in. Pisces, they just make something up in their heads, and go to the Bahamas for a while. Get it? Virgo, disillusionment...Pisces, opposite...illusionment! Libras take forever to make up their minds...is it any surprise that Aries never look before they leap? Libra, never decides...Aries...ever decides! That type of thing. Sometimes I will have a lucid moment and be thinking, "why is this person so..." then I'll find an answer just by considering the opposite sign. That's just me...cold, calculating Virgo forever analyzing people lol

Bright Blessings,

Carlo

Cat -

Thanks, that gives me a good perspective for a comparison between the natures of the two. I'll probably have to re-read it a few times to really have it sink in, though

Aw, I don't think you're giving us Pisces gals nearly enough credit, although I can't speak from what you said in the poem (it's not opening at the moment). BTW, I'm a dunce - what's the NCGR?
Tis an interesting perspective on it you have; I knew it'd be so, coming from a cold, calculating Virgo.
My sis is one, and continually amazes me with her astute observations and her ability to detail exactly how she reached her conclusions. If someone asks me how I know something, they get, "Der, uh, I dunno - jus' knew it, I guess."
