Has anybody read any of the books written by Diana Gabaldon? I have just read "Cross stitch" (I think it may be called "Outlander" in the US. What starsigns do you think Claire and Jamie are?Love and Peace, Sunmeadow Glades IP: Logged |

Doh!! Sorry!!!!!!!!! I just realised in the "Cross stitch" book, Claire tells Jamie that her birthday is 20th October. A Libra. Do you think Jamie could be a Scorpio?Love and Peace, Sunmeadow Glades. IP: Logged |

Jamie is the most amazing man! I often thought, with his brilliant red hair and heart of gold, that he could be a Leo.------------------ The unseen, the unknown, the mystery - this is what drives me; propels me forward on new journeys as dark corners of my mind are lit with the evergrowing bright light of my enlightened soul. - me IP: Logged |

Hello.. I've read Diana Gabaldon's books, and loved them! For some reason, I believed Jamie to be a Taurean--perhaps a Scorpio or Aries ascendant?IP: Logged |

What types of books are they? ------------------ "Never mentally imagine for another that which you would not want to experience for yourself, since the mental image you send out inevitably comes back to you." Rebecca Clark IP: Logged |

It is hard to describe what kind of books they are. It is a whole series devoted to two characters called Jamie Fraser and Claire Beauchamp. Claire is an English woman who is a nurse in the 1940's. She is married to a man called Frank. They go to Scotland for a holiday and during the holiday, Claire is accidentally transported to another time through some standing stones. She is now in 18th century Scotland. There she meets a young Scottish clansman called Jamie. They have to marry each other and evenutally fall in love. I am oversimplifying the books, but it isn't just a romance novel. Hope that gives you some insight.Love and Peace, Sunmeadow Glades. IP: Logged |

I think that was a fair enough summary Sunmeadow. But I agree, it really is hard to capture the whole gist of it all in just a few sentences. You just have to read them.Truly though, the books are nothing less than absolutely amazing, and Diana is a brilliant writer. I'm really trying to pace myself through this last one so I don't gobble it all up in one night. It deserves to be savored I don't have much insight as to Jamie's starsign though -- I'm not much of an astrologer yet. But here's something that might be amusing (it is to me anyway)...for the past month I've been sitting near a man in one of my classes who is the spitting image of Jaime. As in, to the T from the description in the books. Long red hair, tall and muscular, even the nose. Everything but the scars (I hope). It's amazing really. And guess what his name is? Jason. I was totally expecting it to be Jaime, but that's close enough for me! Anyhoo, just thought I'd share

Hi Sunmeadow Glades,I have read every book written by Diana Gabaldon. I'm a huge fan! Have you read the Oulandish Companion by DG? It goes into great detail about the characters including the Horoscope charts for Jamie & Claire, her time travel theory, etc. A must read for Jamie & Claire fans. She says James Alexander Malcolm MacKenzie Fraser was born on May 1, 1721 at 6:30 pm near Inverness Scotland. Claire Beauchamp Randall Fraser, on the other hand, was born October 20, 1918 at 2:09 pm in London. Good tastes in books, Ms. Sunmeadow Glades! ALA IP: Logged |

I was reading our local rag (newspaper) the other day, and there was an article about a cafe. One of the owners' names was Jamie Fraser!! He had auburn coloured hair and did look tall in the photo.Hey thanks, A learning Angel for the compliment!! That was nice of you!! I am glad to hear that I am not the only one who is a fan of these wonderful books. Love and Peace, Sunmeadow Glades. IP: Logged |

A Taurus eh? Well, that does explain his fiery temper and stubborness. Perhaps his ascendant or moon signs are in Leo? Could someone do a chart on the 2 characters?Love and Peace, Sunmeadow Glades. IP: Logged |

Oh my! What a nice place this is. I too have read the Diana Gabaldon "Outlander" series. I found them full of information-- I now know what to do when gangrene sets in and I'm far from a doctor... . What a fine and unforgettable love story. How good it feels to see that other people wonder too, while reading; "what's their sign?". I knew I musn't be the only one, but never shared my musings. I feel all tingly! You know, like when someone else finally get's it... like the boa constrictor swallowing a hat.. hooray! for I am among friends!IP: Logged |
