I am a bit of a novice when it comes to understanding charts, and I was wondering whether anyone would like to have a look at my compatibility with someone else for me.
I'm very curious about the kind of obstacles and gifts our match could have. I rarely get past sun signs in trying to figure things out! Help!

Welcome! I'm also slightly new to this forum but I'll throw my two cents in. I'm no professional, but I've been studying astrology on my own for the past 3 years and so maybe I can help a bit.

As far as I can see, your emotional natures will probably blend rather well together- you both have fire sign moons, and they're almost exactly trined, which is good. Your friend's Sag moon is conjunct neptune (three cheers for Sag moons conjunct neptune! my best friend is one! they're fabulous. have fun.) So where was I... emotionally, I think it's a go- you will probably react to emotional issues quite similarly.

You both have a stong gemini influence- lots of third house placements, probably conducive to good communication between you, which is always a plus.

You have venus in cancer, he has venus in virgo- again, I think this is good, you will both probably take pleasure in the "little things" in relationships, cancer loves to take care of people, and virgo is very attentive.

I looked at your composite chart as well (a composite chart combines the chart of two people and looks at the "being" created by the two of them, you could say... it explains the general tone the relationship will take on.) Phew!! You have mars-venus-sun-mercury all closely conjunct in leo in the first house. Mars-venus will probably amount to hmm, good sex I'd say, explosive, intense, and it being in the first house could mean that it takes on a particular importance in the relationship. Moon is conjunct Pluto in the 4th house... again, emotional intensity, maybe a collective interest in esoteric matters. The 4th house influence of cancer, plus a cancer ascendant gives me a warm cozy feeling.

Your friend has a leo ascendant- I've known a few of these folk, and no offense to anyone with one, but I've found them in the past to be a bit... how shall I say this... pompous I suppose. thats a bit harsh though. I guess at times though, they can be a bit snooty. Sorry again! I dont mean to provoke the wrath of any leo ascendants! So with that being said, with your cancer ascendant, watch out for your friend being a bit too "firey" for you, he may throw out sharp comments without realizing that you may be hurt (and cancer ascendants are sensitive souls). But with your leo moon, I bet you can take it.

You've answered and shown a lot in what you've written. May i ask a few very basic questions, if you don't mind? Just looking at sun signs in general, are taurus and libra compatible? and secondly, what do you mean when you say we have mars venus sun mercury all conjunct closely in leo?

I'm sorry if I confused you with all the planetary terms- I'll try to explain things simply- when you refer to people as a Taurus, or a Libra, you're talking about their sun- where the sun was when they were born. But if you think about it, every other planet was in a certain sign at that time, too, and this plays into who you are just as much as your sun. Often when you read descriptions of your Sun sign, most of it will ring true, but there could be one or two things where you're like, "no way!" This is often due to other planets infuence. To put it shortly.

So as far as your question- Taurus and Libra being compatible... Taurus is an earth sign, Libra is an air sign. Just going by this, earth and air are not, in and of themselves, that compatible. But that doesn't mean that you and your friend are doomed to failure- like I said, other things about your charts lead me to think it could work. Taurus and Libra are both ruled by Venus, so there is more of a similarity between them than between other earth-air signs. You will probably both share a love of beauty and harmony.

However I would say that Taurus could be a bit possessive of Libra- air signs are by nature very detached and constantly in motion, change. Earth signs are steady, constant. This basic nature could create some ripples. But nothing that can't be worked out! don't despair. My last boyfriend was a cancer- I'm a Sag, not traditionally compatiable, but we were like 2 peas in a pod. Give it time and see, you never know. The stars incline, they do not propel.

so, things are going well with my libra. eightdegrees, i checked out that site, it's so fun and informative. the astroclick travel part is cooool.

I don't mean to be greedy, but i'm so excited about this relationship, and i was wondering if there's an astrological reason why. We sometimes have painful short lived communication difficulties, but they usually dissolve, whether through discusiion or time's passing. I don't know, it's such a powerful and great dynamic, and the feelings feel so genuine from both of us...
