I have good news...
and bad news...

The good news is, there's a new cute manager of a doughnut shop. He seems to try to make conversation with me when I go through the drive-thru for coffee.

The bad news I'm too scared to like go inside and sit at the counter to chat because he may have a girlfriend or wife.

The good news is, I'm actually trying to get the nerve up to talk to him.

The bad news is, I woke up this morning with a sore throat, swollen glands on the side of my neck, a fever, and feeling flu'sh.... AND I have NO ONE to bring me chicken soup in bed...

Well, Gloria, I hate to break it to you, but I've never had a boyfriend bring me chicken soup when I was sick. Guys don't do that sort of thing...do they? My sister or friend may do something like that. Maybe you need to start with just looking for a freind.

The doughnut guy could be your freind maybe.

Thanks OxyChick -

You know how they say timing is everything? It's stuff like this which denotes the stars are playing hardball with me...

Unfortunately I cannot afford to eat doughnuts.

The first time we met, he brought up coin collecting and we had like this long conversation about it, thank goodness there were no cars behind me in line...

I thought about showing him my coin collection. So nerdy...

(going back to sleep)

Yeah, free doughnuts!

Do you have a Safeway grocery store near you? Stores in certain cities will deliver for $10.00. You can submit your list online and pick out times you want the delivery.

Light for you

I hope you feel better soon, Gloria. In Canada we have donut shops called Tim Hortons. They serve soup, sandwiches, etc as wwell as the sweet stuff. Perhaps your pastry dude has other comfort foods to offer.

Lioneye68...no boyfriend has ever brought you soup or babied you when you were sick? None? Girl, you are hanging out with the wrong men.

Hi Natasha,

Lol, I had to pop into this thread just to talk to you when I read that you have some sort of way to figure out a person's birthday just from having their last name?

I would LOVE to get a hold of someone's birthday whom I am immensely curious about, but I haven't been able to do so yet.

So, what is this way of nailing down the big day with only the knowledge of their last name?

If Gloria isn't interested in this, then I know I am, lol.

Gloria,

FEEL BETTER SOON.
Being sick is the pits and then some, I know.

I become a major biotch when I get sick.
I don't do ill very well, you know.

So GET WELL SOON!

Hey guys...

Thank you SO much for your warm thoughts. I went to the walk-in clinic today (saturday). They too thought I might have strep throat. They did test and it came out negative. I have pharynitis and head congestion, and I got medications.

Pixel-
Caffeine is not good when you're sick, but I guess that's a good excuse...

FishKitten -
You're right. They do have some croissants, but not sure if anything hot other than hot chocolate or coffee. I'll have to check... good idea!

Esthenri -
OOoooh! Good detective work ahead of us... hmmmm... the wheels in my brain going full-throttle...

Playful -
See if you can pry the Secret Agent Formula out of Esthenri. I'd like to know too. And thank you for the get well wishes.

I'm flying you all to my wedding!!

After I left the clinic today, went to my favorite place to recharge... my sushi hangout. OD'd on green tea and wasabi (did you know wasabi kills bacteria in your body?). Got me Omega's and got to flirt with the culinary artists who work behind the bar. I've been going there for years.

But damn, that ice cream felt good last night. My throat was ON FIRE!!!!

OH! No one ever told me about the photo album. I'm there now... thanks for telling me...

Poor gloria. What heck is pharynitis? Doesn't sound pleasant. My husband has Venus in Cancer and he does bring me chicken soup in bed and tucks me in. Well, I'm a vegetarian so maybe not chicken soup but you get the idea. Anyway, there's hope. A vitamin c, echinacea, zinc combo washed down w/ a little magical grape juice works even better than chicken soup and ice cream.

Hey Tink -

Oh... I know ice cream is not good at all when you're sick. Milk products inhibit the absorbtion of vitamin C in the body. But it just felt so good. Not had any more since that time.

Chicken soup is known as "Jewish penicilin" for a reason (no I'm not Jewish, though have some way back in my heritage)...

Because when the chicken is cooked it makes a broth which is equal to a lighter version penicilin.

I AM taking vitamin C supplements, and added the Echinecea and Zinc too. I'm into all the health stuff too.

Pharynitis -
Pharynx (throat) + -itis (inflammation)

Hmmmm - Aphrodite - I never thought of that...

Guess I'll have more sushi and wasabi today. Wasabi kills bacteria in your body. Also drinking green tea, and eating garlic!!!

My ears are still hurting really bad, and my chest is tight so it's hard to breath and talk. My voice is a little strained. Crap!

Thank you for your caring words. They all help a whole lot...

Did you diagnose yourself or did you go to the doctor?

Just wondering.

I had to take amoxcillin to recover.

P.S. Nevermind, I read again your note about the walk-in clinic.

I saw your pic in the photo album, Gloria, and I just wanted to say you're gorgeous, dahlink!! I see why you can't use personal ads or dating services. You're use to having hunks by your side, and they don't usually use those services because they have no trouble finding dates in the real world.

Hi Gloria!

Hope you're better now. I'm sorry to have written in late. I was relaxing this weekend and took a break from the computer.

Hope all your medicines are doing a great job for you.

Jazzebel, Playful, and Gloria, I am not a super sleuth, only I have Uranus in the 10th conjunct my midheaven and lots of water houses. I bet all of you have strong water in your charts.

I can get the month and year only. I can't get the day yet, I checked back and I don't see it in the paid results, the company I used is checking to see if it can be done however. I thought for sure they sent it to me before.

The data is from people-data.com,
it's free to search as long as you know the state they are living in and their full name. You can kind of guess by the ages, and see by the year what the month is. After that paid results give marriages, land owned, neighbors, previous addresses that kind of thing. I have wanted to see if a certain Libra is indeed a LIbra because I had a late Oct. feel for him,

Later I did see he was born in October so I was able to say to him, late October right? That's when you were born? You seem like a Libra to me, and of course he confirmed the day. So if you want a clue, it's a way to get one. But I don't know yet if I can get the day, so I spoke too soon.

I checked some of my paid results but nothing yet.
BTW my ex was an investigator (all planets in sixth house except one) so that's how I have no problem with this, as long as the information is used ethically I don't see a problem. Sometimes it's good to know if someone is married for example, if you don't want to ask.
No I don't see this as an invasion of privacy, sorry. I don't investigate without good reason.
