I looked up some information in one of Barbara Brennan's books called 'Light Emerging.'

These passages are channelings about love, soulmates, and even soul twins, that she received from the main spirit guide whom she channels who is named Heyoan.

They are really cool, interesting passages, because I believe that there is something in them that will suit every point of view that we have in this Forum right now.

On the question of 'do we have soulmates?'

Heyoan says....

"In the great wisdom of the Universe, there are many, many individuals who carry the desire to complete a particular learning, the wisdom, and the karma, who are compatible to your needs and who are available for you to meet.

The Universe is not so inefficient as to provide you with only one possibility.

In any case, the individual that you will meet is someone you will recognize as the one, the mate, for that particular time in your life.

In our view here, to a certain extent, every individual on the planet is your soulmate and indeed also those that may not be in incarnation at this point.

However, if you have come into a particular life with a major purpose, a major task, then the propensity for a particular mate will be higher if that individual has a life task that meshes completely with yours.

In that sense, yes, you are soulmates.

So you will recognize a soulmate from the perspective of being perfect in terms of energy vibrations, energy exchange, connectedness, and higher ideals and also in terms of who you are and where you are moving in the moment and over a particular period of time.

When the lesson is learned, the karma is completed, and the relationship may no longer be active.

The relationship will never end, since the connection remains forever.

Or you will take on a new learning together and stay with each other for a lifetime if you so choose.

It is completely up to you, for from our perspective there is no separation anyway.

Another way to look at it is in terms of how many times you have been together before.

If you have been together before, you will recognize the other as yourself.

The more times you have been together, the more you will recognize the other as yourself.

Perhaps there is some particular moment when the number of times you have been together will bring you to the belief that this is indeed a soul twin.

Once connected, always connected, and the more times you are connected, the more similiar you become in experience and wisdom and in the level of integration of consciousness and individuality."

So, I guess he is suggesting that relationships certainly aren't always necessarily meant to last forever once the particular learning that you have come together to learn about together is finished, and as a result of that completed learning, the love seems to be gone from the union at that time, but....

if you so desire, then perhaps you can still 'fall in love all over again' anyway if you decide you want to take on or if you are capable of taking on a new learning with that person.

And he also seems to be saying that sometimes it is very easy to know it when you are meant to be with a particular person for awhile because of the extreme similiarity which you sense going on in terms of energetic vibrations, energy exchanges, and connectedness with that person too, and that....

because of this stronger connection with this particular person, this person seems to be more of a particular, 'stronger' soulmate to you than what some other people have seemed to be to you in your past.

But again, even a connection like that one that you experience with someone in the beginning of your relationship together may not mean that it might not be time to move on from them at some time or another in the future if the karma is finished and you find that you are just not able to take on a new learning together to keep it going with each other into the future after those initial experiences with them are over and done with.

But sometimes, I guess it really is possible to find a 'soul twin' if you indeed really want to do that, AND if those Souls are incarnated with you in this lifetime too, I guess.

It seems to me like he is saying that a soul twin is someone whom you have had many lifetimes with in the past, and therefore someone whom you have grown in connectedness with in a very strong way as a result of those lifetimes together.

Lol, I guess what I am searching for in my own personal life is what Heyoan would call a 'soul twin' then, hey?

Yes, I agree that that term is a very good definition for what I am looking for as well.

A 'twin' in the sense of he and I being able to stay with each other for a period of a lifetime the way you would think of 'twins' always having that sort of more permanent similiar compatibility with one another, which could be considered to be different from the more temporary similiar compatibility that you might have with someone who is more of a soulmate in your life instead.

Wish me the best of luck in finding what I seek then, lol.

I fully respect that some people may just truly not want what kind of sounds like the more complicated connection of that twin thing in this lifetime.

I think that it might sound like it is simply way too confining to some people out there, which I can definitely understand.

Ok, well, I hope that somebody finds all of this kind of interesting, because I know that I surely do.

By the way, according to Barbara, I believe that Heyoan's name means "Wind Whispering Truth Through The Centuries' in some African language too.
