My love…
Is what a cat is to a butterfly
Catch it gently
But break off it’s wing.

A menacing emotion
Leaving all around destroyed
After expression.

I am a bare soul at times
Wanting to float away
And leave a desperate heart behind.

I can see my hands
Remembering how they once held feeling
Now they are empty
And cold.

I want to be beautiful
To be in thoughts of you
Bring you a smile
With every breeze of my perfume
Every inch of my body.

I fear not that I will die
With a broken heart that has been healed
But that I will die with a wounded heart
So damaged that I will never want to love again.

I am no answers
I am too nervous to ask the questions
That will tell all of me
That I am nothing but a face among many
A heard before voice
And a rerun smile
Reality.

Strange that being who I am
I should never feel pretty
But with you I felt beautiful
Top-of-the-world beautiful

Stange that I changed
And began to believe
While with you I was beautiful
Drop-dead, knockout beautiful

But now it is just plain old me again
The clock struck midnight
But it's alright because for a short while
I was in the spotlight
I was Cinderella with her fellow
