I know that at some point Linda spoke on this, but I can't recall. Anyone have any info? Also, what do you have to say about trine Ascendants? "I believe in the Magic of Love!"

My take on this is we are affected most by our ascendants when we are young, and grow into our sun sign potentials as we mature.I see Ascendants as defensive mechanisms, or masks, that hides our true selves until we become mature enough to deal on a sun sign level. Thanks for your reply Lanny. What you said is interesting because I seem more my sun than my asc., these days. Of course my whole chart factors in. So to be true to my sun sign I will put the 2 cents into my piggy bank of knowflake knowlegde. IP: Logged |

Hi Lanny -You know, personally - I am growing in just the opposite way. I was aries, aries, aries (my sun, moon, and mars) when I was younger. Now I feel like a capricorn (my asc). Actually, it could be because the (2) signs represent the aging process. Aries is young, thoughtless, impatient, and self-absorbed - as many young people can be. Capricorn is careful, thoughtful, and traditional - as many older people can be. Astrology? Normal aging? Just joining in my 2 cents. key IP: Logged |

Hi Peri -I see that you also have the Earth/Fire combo. Whenever I read general information about my chart - I hear - Earth/Fire conflicts, hard to come to terms with the (2) different elements. Maybe I am just used to it, but I think it is a great combination. I get to have fun and excitement in my life (fire), but I have always managed to stop myself before getting into trouble/problems (earth). Go with your moon for a while, especially with your rock solid safety net of earth - rising and sun. Ukraine. Ever been to the US? key IP: Logged |

She goat~ Hello! Do you mean in synastry? The importance of Sun sign in aspect with Ascendant? Personally, I factor this in very much. We are all aspects of our charts, but you know, the big three.. Sun, Moon, Asc, really do tell alot about how you relate to others. They're a very important part of synastry. I see the Ascendant as more than a mask.. as a vital component to the you of you.. and in synastry, becasuse the ascendant represents an important angle, where the others' Sun falls in your chart, care of your Ascendant, can say a lot about the way you two relate together. Ascendant Trine Sun is big for creating harmony.. as well as negating unsavoury reactions and contcts to other points in the synastry. It has a larger weight than other contacts.IP: Logged |

Hi pixelpixie,Well, initally I was asking about Ascendants vs. Sun signs in a personal chart. I remember reading something about one being your character and the other being something else. As for the synastry, I am not even sure what makes aspects to what. There may be a Sun conjunt Asc. between these two charts. And I think I am wrong about that Asc. trine Asc. I think it MAY be Asc. SEXTILE Asc. At first glance it seems sun conjunt sun, sun sextile moon, moon trine asc, and then the above as I said, etc. You are welcome to see the two charts in question. You can email me at northshore@lycos.com and I will send you the data. Have a good weekend, and by the way your glasses become you. Hope to hear from you, ~shegoat

I definitely used to identify with my sun more. Until I was about seven. Then my Sun progressed into Taurus, and ever since I've identified more with my Ascendant (Virgo). I've never really felt my moon too much.IP: Logged |

nove731, I can relate to you there. I was definitely my sun sign until I was five. I was isolated before then, and life seemed to have a very special feeling to it. Then kindergarten started, which was a nightmare to me for half the year. Since then, I feel I've become more and more my ascendant Virgo, the polarity of Pisces. Maybe I'm regressing. One difference is my Cappy moon. It drives me crazy when all I hear from people is, "smile some more!" Oh, if I had a rose colored view on certain things.... IP: Logged |

oohh nice thread When I was growing up, I acted very much like my sun sign (cancer)...I cried a lot, ate a lot (hehe, gained weight a lot, too) and was very attached to my father and had a lot of hard issues with my mother. My dad and I have the same birthday and we're very much alike and I always saw my mother as a barrier between the two of us cos my dad spoilt me like crazy. Now that Im much older, I am continually acting a cross between my Gemini ASC and my Scorpio moon...Gemini ASC I don't mind, but my scorp moon influences pop out of nowhere like when Im at work and a customer did somethign rude and I don't even realize it but I will give them the evil eye...things like that.IP: Logged |
