This wonderful cancer guy that I know is looking for work here in the States. I have helped him to find job openings and told him that he can stay with me while he is looking and interviewing. The problem is that I am going to have to move during all of this and he is fine with that....he is even ok with the fact that my ex is also helping with the move.

Here is the problem....this guy told me that he is coming to do this and now it has been over 6 weeks since we have had any communication between us and the move is coming up in 3 months. And I have stuck my neck out to get him a great interview as soon as we move. Not only have I done this but my friends have been networking for him too.

Do I give this guy more time or do I just forget the whole thing?

If you two are romantically involved, I'd guess either you hurt him or something else is going on in his life. Perhaps he was more bothered by the idea of your moving with your ex's help then he let on and it made him insecure. Perhaps he met someone he cares about back home and is avoiding the whole topic of bringing it up. If I were to take a guess, I'd say you probably worried him which caused him to pull back. What's happened since then ... who knows? My advise to anyone dealing with a Cancer is never NEVER let them pull back into their shells. If he stopped contacting you, then you call him immediately and don't give up until you hear from him. If you’ve let this sit for six weeks then it may be that he’s “moved on.” How long has it been since you tried to contact him?

He is moving from The Netherlands and we are not romatically involved. I met him 5 years ago while we were both attending college in Michigan. He loves my kids and we have a great time together. We lost contact with each other almost 5 years ago when he went back to Holland. We have spoken on the phone and through e-mail off and on for the past year. I have been honest with him about the nature of all the things going on here (the ex lives in the basement and we will not divorce until after the move).
He has a daughter that he is going to have to leave when he moves here (I wonder if this has something to do with all of this).

The last time I spoke to him he was moving out of a flat into his mothers house to save up the rest of the money he needs to come here. He also gave his 30 day notice at work and was to start working for his step-dad 1 November. (I know that he has moved cause I see that he has been online and he did not have an internet connection at his old place)
