We're facing a period of Venus retrograde. Mercury is also now going forwards once more and consequently we're told that it's a time of re-visiting communications, when old lovers will come back and we'll be in a position to either find closure or re-open the case-books of past relationships.

How's everyone feeling about that prospect?

Hiya S!

How're you and Mr Aqua doing?? Here's wishing you a happy holiday season!!
Here's a great link about retrograde planets this year:
http://www.astralis.it/2005rx_pla.htm

Mercury won't be direct again until Sat Dec 3rd 9:22pm EST (Sunday the 4th at 02:22 for you).....
Here's the other retrogrades going on during Dec 2005 --

MARS RETROGRADE from October 1 through December 10 2005

Mars depletes the vitality so that it is never a time to initiate something new. Whoever initiates loses – a new project, a great love, an argument, a lawsuit or an international war. With a new project, it will fizzle out and never really go anywhere. With a hot romance, it too fizzles and it rarely get to the alter – which can be just fine if you only want a short-lived fling. With an argument, the hostility will came back to haunt you later. In legal matters, stoke your opponent into initiating and lawsuit. It will be etched in granite that they will lose. In an international way, whoever fires first will automatically lose or ultimately withdraw. Matters commenced with Mars is retrograde will be frustrated and plagued with disruptions until they finally fizzle out. At this time, people become irritated when activities do not run smoothly. Anger can disrupt indirectly and inappropriately – like getting a traffic ticket when you feel annoyed with your job.

NOTE: Since this Mars has turned retrograde, it has been like Mercury retrograde! My answering machine does not work all the time. I am reluctant to buy a new one since, when my lawn mower broke when the last Mars was retrograde, the new one died after a year. There is one option - to get a service contract.

My fax machine will not accept faxes. I had a surgical procedure to anesthesize the pain coming from a nerve (it is part of a series of 3). The drug seeped over onto a major nerve that regulates my right leg. I just thought my foot was asleep but, when I got off of the recovery table, my foot buckled under and it may be fractured (just had scan). One cat died and another has run away and I cannot find her. This is the worse Mars retrograde that I have ever experienced and I have 6 more weeks to go.

SATURN TURNS RETROGRADE - NOVEMBER 22 2005 through APRIL 5 2006

Saturn turning retrograde will slow down the normal rate of activity so that better methods and strategies can be developed. Saturn rules the physical and psychological supports, structures and armatures in our life. It produces the rules and regulations by which we guide our lives, our sense of responsibility, and our limitations. It allows us to define boundaries for ourselves by saying NO! When Saturn is natally retrograde, this capacity does not function properly, making us insecure and unable to accurately assess what can realistically be expected in any situation. The most common flaw is the tendency to say YES when we should say NO, especially in activities and relationships ruled by Saturn's house position. Stress hits - do not make commitments on these dates: DECEMBER 27 2005; JANUARY 26-27 and MARCH 10-11 2006.

During the period when Saturn is transiting retrograde, it is essential that we go back and assess and solidify commitments made, projects started and responsibilities undertaken in the past. This must be done before we can continue. Saturn transiting retrograde provides the opportunity to reassess what we have taken on, to finally say NO, to back out of a commitment and to improve the organization of a project. While the process is going on, while you are working with what you have at hand, you should be warned against taking on any unnecessary responsibilities or long-range commitments. Only deal with issues from the past; do not take on new ones!

Saturn turning retrograde gives us the opportunity to go back and reorganize or renegotiate any activities or commitments that seem to be a source of frustration. If you merely persist under Saturn frustrations, the frustrations will merely persist! Weed out the source of frustration at this time. Remember, my definition for being responsible is in knowing how much you can do before you start to feel frustrated, trapped or confined - and drawing the line and saying NO before you reach that point! It is essential that you do not start any new business activity while Saturn is retrograde!! You will only find that a lot of reorganizing has to be done before any successes can be made.

Here's a quote from one of the links:
quote:
We may be called upon to reevaluate our existing close relationships. Venus retrograde is a good time to think and talk about issues, review and discuss what has worked well for you before and what has not. This is not the time to finalize either commitments or separations, as the value or lack thereof in the relationship might not be apparent to you now. Partners are more indecisive and fickle during Venus retrograde. Assumptions of other people’s feelings are often inaccurate, so open and honest communication is vital.

The real focus now is your relationship with yourself, and this time is especially good for acts of kindness and love toward yourself. So many times when the people close to us are aggravating or frustrating, the problem is with us, not them. It’s important during Venus retrograde to take some time and space for yourself, to feel your feelings. Especially if there is anger, just recognize and honor the hurt feelings that are underneath. Just by recognizing and honoring them, you create inner peace.

This cycle is always a fantastic time to review and reevaluate the ways you make and spend money. When Venus resumes direct motion, you will have a better idea where adjustments are needed.

The prospect of Venus retro doesn't disturb me -- good/healthy relationships will still be good/healthy. I like the fact that Venus is retrograding during the winter when many of us are inside a lot more, rather than in the summer when you wanna be outside and socializing
I also hesitate to call any planet's effects "friend" or "foe", good/bad, benefic/malefic -- they are all energies necessary for our self-development.....

Oh Zala hon, I'm so sorry about your cat! I really hope the other one comes back - I'm sure he/she will, it's probably just a bad reaction to losing their friend. I also hope you're leg gets better soon and that you're not in too much pain. Sending you lots of positive energy to heal and recover

Yep I think you've got the exact right attitude to the upcoming retro Venus. I suppose I'm just dreading it slightly as I went to see a medium not so long ago and she told me that my bf's ex will be causing probs again around December time - and then I read the whole Venus retrograde thing and my heart just sank a little I guess.

But as you say

quote:
they are all energies necessary for our self-development.....

and I shall be putting my best foot forward, my shoulder to the wheel and my nose to the grindstone... I'll look ridiculous and will probably put me back out but boy I'll be learning!

CG ~

Thanks for clarifying!! I skimmed thru that article I copied, and didn't realize how it might be taken!

The lady who wrote those blurbs (Lynn Koiner I think?) is the suffering party.....

But thanks for your kind and generous thoughts anyway!
