Hi, after reading the posts by BornUnderDioscuri, i was plagued by doubts about the importance of composite charts. I mean, I am not very familiar with them. Upto now i thought that synastry was the last word as far as compatibility was concerned, and that composites hold much less significance, if none at all.To me, the idea of a composite seemed nebulous. I mean why should the mid points calculated using two individual charts be an indicator of how the relationship would me. If anything, a new chart should be drawn up, for the moment say when the relationship first began. (Of course this is again very complicated!!). I had noticed tht the composite of me and the guy I am interested in has a lot of oppositions, and it troubled me a little, but i didnt give it much thought. Now after i read all these posts about the composites, esp the fact tht there can be major trouble in spite of hving a very good synastry, as i gather is in the case of BornUnderDioscuri, I am really scared. Can anyone shed some light on the matter? Thanks ILWL IP: Logged |

Well if it makes you feel any better, me and my bf's composite is more positive than our synastry. Ah well all I really have to say is, every relationship is different and has its own quirks... and if two people REALLY LOVE EACH OTHER, they can face anything! IP: Logged |

Personally, I love composite charts and find them to be highly accurate. But that's just me, some people may not like them as much. I was very suspicious at first, but after doing a bunch of them, WOW -- I was blown away.IP: Logged |

InLoveWithLife, I wouldn't worry about. Astrology is never the determining factor of a relationship working out. If you love each other and you don't have any problems, why worry? To make you feel better though, my boyfriend and I have really good synastry, but our composite is full of oppositions. Actually, it's mostly all conjunctions, squares, and oppositions- barely any trines or sextiles. That doesn't mean the composite chart is bad, though. It just means that energy (whatever planets are opposing each other) is more apparent when you two are together. It doesn't mean it's a BAD thing... conjunctions, oppositions, and squares have more energy and are more apparent then trines and sextiles in a composite chart, just as it has more energy in a synastry chart. But you have to remember that the synastry chart is how you two affect each other, and the composite is how you are TOGETHER, as a couple- and how you present yourself to others. P.S. I haven't found the composite chart nearly as accurate as a synastry chart... but everyone has their own opinion. IP: Logged |

Hiya, yea sure you certainly may call me BUD, but i agree i guess it is better to know in advance. I mean it revealed a lot of problems to me that we were already having and kind of gave advice how to fix. I got pretty worried though there. Our synastry seems better than our composite by quite a lot actually, i wonder what does that say. But both reveal really positive and negative aspects same time, which is why its such a rollercoaster------------------ Sun-Gemini Moon-Scorpio ASC-Libra IP: Logged |

InLoveWithLife,I think it is important to use astrology as a tool to see possible pit falls or negative behaviors in ourselves or others that need work. I also think it is useful for understanding certain needs the other might have that would otherwise not be visible off the bat. However, I think you should always trust your instincts and your heart when it comes to love and not worry so much what the chart says. Just my opinion. Tinasparkle IP: Logged |

Hi BlueEyes24....thanks, your answer was just what I was looking for. As in, from what I read, composite is how we are as a couple. And that is not the same thing as how we are to each other. That was exactly what i needed to get confirmed. And so i guess a good synastry does go a long way. Thanks BUD...i hope things get better for you. Tinasparkle, how are you doing? hey your crab is returning soon, isnt it? do keep us updated I agree with you that one must trust ones instinct, but dont know why i begin to think so negatively at times. i guess i am a little paranoid IP: Logged |

William's composite interpretation was totally spot on for me. Ask him for his opinion. I found him so accurate I almost wondered if he was psychic! I just posted another one for him to look at for me in the astrology forum, kinda scared it'll be terrible but sh** happens I guess.Of course love can overcome all odds! P.S. The first contact charts fascinate me too. I find them illuminating. Look into it, you may be surprised. Wilsontc (tim) at the astrology forum does interpretations that I find very interesting and laughingly accurate! IP: Logged |

The Composite comes into play when the two people are together, preferable living together or else the combined chart is not valid. A Synastry chart is how you two affect each other. That will always exist regardless of how wonderful a composite it. Have you ever seen two people that are so incredibly different, yet somehow make it work? Or how about two people that seem to fight all the time, but they have this intense connection? I look at the individual chart first when I do decide to do a chart on someone I am with. I did not do my husbands chart until I knew I had deep feelings for him. Once I look at the individual, I look at synastry. What causes us to talk for hours, spend lots of time together and everything else disappears? His Pluto conjuncts my ascendant and My Mercury trines his Venus / Mars while forming a sextile to his Moon. His Mercury trines my Sun / Moon and Venus and we are both Virgo risings. Mercury is significant in our individual charts and in our synastry. In our Composite chart we have a grand square between Pluto - Saturn - Moon / Mars and Neptune. We also have Sun conjunct Mercury - another communication aspect. But the chart only works when we are together. Right now he is in Germany, so we are expressing more of our individual and synastry charts. When we are together we seem to attract drama and a good number of weirdos (Sun conjunct Uranus and Mercury). At least for me, while I like Composite charts, I prefer to look at synastry - especially since no two people really are ONE person, we may feel as one, but we aren't. WE still have our individual identity and our own transits to deal with
But why not use everything as a tool to better understand yourself and your loved one IP: Logged |
