According to another book I read, the most personal planets are the Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, and Saturn.
I am to conclude that in the long-term it is the Sun, Jupiter, and Saturn that are the most stable planets whilst Mercury, Venus, Mars follow and ending with the Moon (though the most potent) but also the most erratic.

In a personal chart it is the moon (and not Uranus) that makes rash decisions, jumps ship, makes changes and is prone to sudden ups and downs. Though it may be in stable signs of Taurus, Capricorn etc its changeable nature is far less apparent but it is still not immune to change (it is ruled by the cardinal sign of cancer after all).
It is the Sun that is most stable (with the Sun ruled by Leo) and rarely changes its purpose overnight. Even in the seemingly inconsistent signs of Pisces and Gemini, the Sun does not change is stance, its original purpose and there is a method in its seeming madness.

Sun sign compatibility is important for the long term as it underlines how close two parties will get to each other in the long run.
Moon sign compatibility is also important as it underlines how easy/difficult their time spent together is.

If the moon interacts with various other personal planets as well as Saturn/Jupiter and the Sun; the couple has a choice of being together for a long-long time. The more aspects and the closer the orb the Moon has with the other personal planets between them, the easier their life together will be.

If the Sun only aspects the Sun, they’ll probably like each other very much but are unlikely to feature in each other’s personal lives or establish a real deep bond.
If the moon doesn’t aspect any personal planets and only the Sun, they may be mere acquaintances that like each other but are not likely to grow closer together.

Let me make an example

A has Sun Sag, Moon in Can, Mercury in Capricorn, Venus in Scorpio, Mars in Libra, Jupiter in Sag, Saturn in Scorpio

B has Sun in Libra, Moon in Libra, Mercury in Scorpio, Venus in Virgo, Mars in Virgo, Jupiter in Aquarius, Saturn in Scorpio.

The moon of A aspects planets of B: Moon, Mercury, Venus, Mars, Saturn and Sun
The inner personal planets (moon, mercury, Venus, mars) make life between them quite easy. A will have no difficulty investing his emotions on B since they have contacts with the inner planets.
The outer planets add some stability (in the case of Saturn) and a long-term bond goal (as far as the Sun in concerned).The square aspect means that there are hardships to be overcome that will require both of them to meet each other half-way.

The Moon of B aspects planets of A: moon, mercury, mars, Jupiter and Sun.
B will also feel bonded to A and will be frustrated by the moon and mercury square aspect. But none the less there is a rainbow after the storm with mars, Sun and Jupiter forming a very positive aspect with the moon.

I was reading my chart just the other day: Pluto is heavy and so is Jupiter. Jupiter is a personal planet while Pluto is not. I thought of dismissing Pluto’s dominance and sidelining it second place since I didn’t understand how it could affect me directly until I found that Venus was not too far behind from Pluto on being a dominant planet on my chart(even more significantly dominant than Jupiter).

Venus and Pluto are jointly entrenched in Scorpio, though they don’t make an aspect to each other; Pluto makes an aspect with the Sun and Neptune.
The Sun is a personal planet but Neptune is not (unless aspected by the Sun).
The Sun’s importance is compromised in my chart since it comes 5th in importance and also since it is slower than the moon and other personal planets, its significance will only become more apparent in the long-term; it doesn’t readily show in my everyday life.

With Venus in Scorpio and Jupiter in Sagittarius as another dominant planet. Both of these have to be aspected by the moon (preferably Venus) .My Sun has also got to be aspected by a personal planet together with the above said (not necessarily the Moon)
in order for the relationship to have a chance.
It is also beneficial for the persons moon to aspect my most aspected planet together with Saturn or the Sun for me to be able to make room for them in my personal life.

A friend of mine has my moon aspect his mercury, mars and Saturn.
I also have his moon aspect my Mars, Jupiter and Sun. We are still going strong!

Me: Pisces Sun; Scorp Moon

Him: Virgo Sun; Pisces Moon

We don't only live through emotions and the ego when in relationship with someone,other planets also come into play like communication(mercury),morals and values(venus),initiative(mars) etc.

What I was saying on my essay was that the personal planets (moon mercury venus mars Jupiter saturn and the Sun) in your chart have to be aspected by the moon of your partner and vice versa (as many as possible) for the realtionship to work.

The sun,jupiter and saturn are very important contacts together with the moon's contacts with the inner personal planets(moon,venus mars and mercury) to stabilise the relationship on the long-term.

eg your moon should idealistically aspect (strongly) your partners moon,venus,mercury or mars.If your moon aspects all these planets that is very good because it means you have your emotions(the moon) invested in each part of your coming together.If the moon further aspects two of the three outer personal planets(Sun,jupiter and Saturn) this is very good as it stabilises the relationship and makes it more of a long-term endevour.
