How can two people who used to love each other tremendously grow so far apart in 10 years?

I am feeling so alone lately... even when I am with someone. It's such a terrible state to be in. We don't seem to have anything to say to each other. Very quiet dinners together...? Alone in a crowd... My heart is breaking even when we are together.
