vesta-sister, Hello Just thought I'd remind you that it's planets rather than asteroids that make this magic happen...yahoo
quote:
It involves 6 planets found at 6 different points in a chart that all sextile one another. In addition there must be 3 oppositions that form it also.
vesta-sister quote:
my question is can I use the astroids to complete the grand sextile and square?
The answer is: You can do anything you like with asteroids in your chart, though it is not normal practice to use them in this manner. The most obvious reason being there are more than 10,000+ asteroids to choose from; pump any combination of numbers of them into your astrology program and you are bound to find LOT's n' LOT's of grandsextile's and and grand square's! [Not very special at all, now is it?]
quote:
does it make it just as powerful or less?
The answer is: Asteroids compared to planets are much, much less powerful.
You must also be sure to compare apples to apples and oranges to oranges for any accuracy at all. Click Here to learn more.Asteroids can be wonderful tools for exploring deeper within our charts...
They are considered however just 10% the strength of a planet.
Here Is A Complete List Of The 10,000+ To Choose From, as Well As Their Corresponding #s to pump into any good Astro Program or online at "astro.com", etc.
You may find this list most appropriate for the situation at hand:
Love, Romance, and Synastry Asteroids
I hope this has helped to give you a better understanding of the questions you pondered? If I've bummed you out in any way, I'm sorry... My intention is only to help you learn to use these tools of astrology to your own maximum benefit.
Using Asteroids In Your Charts
Basic Application Rules:
1] Orbs should be at the very least 3 degrees to even consider.
[I prefer to use 2 degrees for a personal chart, and just 1 degree for a synastry chart]
2] Name Asteroids can be very beneficial because asteroids affect
stronger through name frequency than through gravity. Look for these first!
[ei: If your name is "Yvonne" check out this one! "Yvonne (1301)"]
3] It is counter productive [ei: a waste of time] to compare Asteroids of one theme to asteroids of another, unless they represent the same effect.
Example: SIVA conjunct ANUBIS or OSIRIS has a valid meaning but SIVA conjunct HERA is senseless. HYGIEA conjunct HORUS is senseless but HYGIEA conjunct CHIRON or even SEKHMET has loads of meaning.
4] It is a total waste of time to look at every asteroid in your chart. There are way to many and it would take your entire physical lifetime to actual do this, even briefly.
-Rather choose a theme that you find connects with you in someway [or] a theme that you really are interested in exploring.
Then that theme's asteroid list should be very thoroughly investigated, right down to every planetary aspect and every Sabian Symbol degree.
5] Remember they are just 10% the strength compared to planets in effect.
