Was wondering this as i have recently met a cappy moon who besides his sunny fish is really uptight and controlling about his feelings...

Another one that keeps me wondering: what would u assume about gem sun with scorp moon? sensitive and a liking for the deep and profound, or flighty and really happy with lirting around and tasting different flavours all the time?

Last but not least, this gem moon is acting all aloof and supposedly-happy in a stable and structured rship with a cappy, yet dont u reckon his mars sun/gem moon will surely want to break free soon enough?

I think the moon gives away most about feelings.
Scorpio moon can be easily obessed with things and people, is rather careful in revealing secrets and is very passionate. Falls in love easily. It seeks revenge if misjudged. Many characterize scorpio moon ers as unpredictable.
If you combine scorpio moon and gemini sun the result is a more light-hearted person. (At least I think so...)
I hope that someone knows more than me will fully answer your question.

Hi Winky,

I have Gem moon in 8th house and for me to be attracted to a person, there has to be depth...but no smothering. So I guess I'm into Pluto/Mercurian or Uranian combinations of energies!

My sun shows more of the kinds of surroundings I want to be in, activites I want to participate in, personality traits, etc. (Pisces sun in 5th.)

Your emotions are usually most prominently involved in close relationships with family members, some friends, and significant others. You are dealing with the moon, rather than the sun whenever emotion is being felt by the person. The house determines what environment the individual feels at home expressing emotions. An 8th house moon's emotional expression would be more prominent in areas of deep emotional transformation, deaths, etc, all of the qualities of the 8th House ("intense experiences" as you know). So this person might not casually communicate about their own and everyone else's emotions like someone with Moon in the 3rd or someone with a Gemini moon, for example.

My moon is Cap in the first so my emotional communication is right up front and I exemplify the saying "wearing your heart on your sleeve" in many situations. I tear up during movies and during inspirational speeches or moments etc. But my moon is in Cap so wipe my tears away as discretely as possible. The Ascendant is your "mask" which often is used in emotional situations as protection so I can feel things deeply for a long time without revealing those feelings. But since I am "up front" about my feelings, and I value them (1st House), I will tell the truth of the moment in emotional situations.

I understand Astrology through understanding myself, so I hope this is helpful in allowing you to apply it to yourself and to use it to learn about your past and future partners.

8th,

I just realized our Suns and Moons are in reversed houses. My Sun is in the 8th, and my Virgo Moon is in the 5th. Pretty cool, huh?

As to the question, I don't really know the answer for myself. I imagine my Sun and Moon are both fairly conservative being in earth signs. They're square, and I don't really know how that affects my emotional nature. Maybe this is a good time for introspection on that question.

My girlfriend has commented on the fact that I get teary at movies, but not so much when relating to someone who's crying. That is a bit of an oddity. Conversely, I'm a little surprised at the way she keeps it totally together in movies at parts where I wouldn't. I recently thought that perhaps my water singleton came into play for my rare emotional outbursts. I thought that maybe Mars in Scorpio made me respond to actions brought about by emotion. For instance, I got teary-eyed while watching the movie Juno when her boyfriend guy opened his mailbox, and all the TicTacs came pouring out. I think I get that in a profound way as a gesture of love. It does tie in to action based on emotion. Does it come back to the Moon, though? My Moon is in Virgo in the 5th. I think I would have to say yes. She shows [rather than states] her attention to detail (:Virgo), and provides him with what he loves (service: Virgo). She's trying to win his affection (dating: 5th) in a movie (entertainment: 5th). It all ties in.

I'm not sure if other movie moments that cause me to be emotional work within the same confines of my Moon's structure, but I'll be keeping an eye out to analyze.

It's seems my emotional life becomes vicariously entwined in music I listen to as well. My favorite singer at the moment is a Pisces who's brilliant at conveying his emotions, and when he's not doing that he's turning clever phrases I don't imagine I'd think up myself.

I know someone who is Scorpio Moon/ Gemini Sun. Definitely more the liking for the deep and profound, nothing much flighty and flirty about him for anything, certainly not relationships. He's a professional artist so emotional expression is obviously important.

Guy Garvey of Elbow

Here's a good example of both his emotion as well as interesting writing style:

The Bones Of You
So I'm there
Charging around with a juggernaut brow
Overdraft, speeches and deadlines to make
Cramming commitments like cats in a sack
Telephone burn and a purposeful gait

When out of a doorway the tentacles stretch
Of a song that I know
And the world moves in slow-mo
Straight to my head
like the first cigarette of the day

And it's you, and it's May
And we're sleeping through the day
And I'm five years ago
And three thousand miles away

Do I have
time? A man of my calibre
Stood in the street like a sleepwalking teenager
No.
And I dealt with this years ago
I took a hammer to every memento
But image on image like beads on a rosary
pulled through my head as the music takes hold
and the sickener hits; I can work till I break
but I love the bones of you
That, I will never escape

And it's you, and it's May
And we're sleeping through the day
And I'm five years ago
And three thousand miles away

And I can't move my arm
Through the fear that you will wake
And I'm five years ago
And three thousand miles away

Still experiencing it, but what I can tell so far is that it definitely gives me some stubborness (along with having a fixed singleton with Mars in Scorpio). I am a bit possessive and protective of loved ones. I don't feel fascinated by death. I don't have any inheritances. I do work for a mortgage lender, so I do deal with other people's money.

Astrology yes. Much of the rest is more of an occasional curiosity. I think actual Scorpios delve much deeper into occultic matters than I do. Perhaps it's that my Sun is in Capricorn, so I'm a bit more conservative.
