I have seen instant karma work in my life so based upon assumption, karma exists beyond this lifetime and IF past lifetimes are real, then I have to believe that karma extends on to those, too.

But I am not sure that past lives do exist, I think, intellectually and really know intuitively that they do, but will not ever know, probably.

Anyway, one thing that really bugs me about past lives is the karmic implications that become present with other individuals.

For instance, IF IN FACT reincarnation is real, I do not want my late husband or my psyco ex bfriend owing me anything, therefore I do not want to meet up again with them in any future potential lives.

So, after a bit of research, meditation and contemplation, I have employed this strategy.

It has been written that grace is the only thing that can rise above karmic obiligations, so I bless them, award them with grace, hold no grudges, hold no love, let it all go and firmly in my mind absolutely know these individuals and I shall never meet again, this life or the next. I also use the cord-cutting method, but with this I have to go back from time to time, in the visualization and make sure the cords remain cut.

I feel very strongly that one can jump off this karmic wheel (fatye stared a wonderful thread a long time ago about this) and free yourself of present life entanglements originating in the past and future potential entanglements.

I have encountered many individuals in the present lifetime that I intuite a past life connection with, but many of these individuals I do not have a good feeling about, feel toxic to me, so I bless them, send them on their ways, kind of tell the universe that I release them from all karmic debts, etc.

I also feel karma is impersonal. I think you can do good, generally and be freed of karmic debts, and not necessarially have to do good toward an individual that you may have a karmic debt with.

Ok, I have rambled enough.

But I do know what you are talking about, and I think there is no reason that you have to remain in relation with someone in this lifetime just cause you did in another.

I agree that cord cutting can be done to release/disconnect the energetic cords. I have heard that a Karmic cord cannot be cut until the karma is finished. I don't know if that's true or false.

What I do with people I need a break from (temporarily or permanently) is a guided meditation on releasing cords. Often, A's Solar Plexus cord might be connected to B's heart cord whereupon there is an issue between love and power, for example. Or perhaps B's Heart cord might be attached to A's Sacral cord making it likely that B's heart is attached to A's sexuality and/or creativity.

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE, LOVE, LOVE. Unconditional and when u reach beyond yourself. Just because u love somone you try that much harder. And U find out its really not that hard. Okay? The way to overcome past Karma is LOVE. Sometimes it feels like "bending over". But it doesnt have to. How do u love your children? Other people are somones child too...and we are children of God or whatever u conceive the higher power to be. So...LOVE and understnding.

Well if it's karmic then work out the karma.

After which you can cut cords and be happy and love the person.
Do this every day for about a month...

et voila! No more person

Mama Mia, your energy has drawn this person to you because you have something to learn from them. It is between you and the Universe as to when you will be 'rid' of them so to speak.
I guess it depends on what type of relationship you have with the person.

But ultimately that person has come into your life for a reason, there are tools to be amassed and soul growth to be made.
I have to agree with Crabbyfish and I too have to be told this sometimes when I am dealing with a difficult one. But yes love them, love them even when they do wrong to you, because thats when it counts, thats when you go through inner alchemy which is a neccesary refining process. Because in order to do this you have to see the situation from a "higher" point view. That is when you are using your third eye, and this is when the Divine within you manifest itself. This is a process we continually go through here on earth.
And when you are acting from that dimension of thinking that place of detachment, you are able to act from a place of love and not fear and then its not so much getting rid of them, as learning from them.

I think the golden altar excercize really works.It is a forgiveness excercise that actually releases the person and yourself from things done that have hurt you (real or imagined) and things you may have done to hurt them, in this or any lifetime.

The way I understand it is, the people that hurt us the most may be the very people that we were not good to or hurt in another diminsion, or lifetime.

It also, again, from what I undersatnd will stregthen any protection visualizations you may do and it is really a good excecise at any rate. I found the link to it, and posted it below if you are interested.

Sunshine Lion the golden altar exercise for forgiveness and releasing seems like a simple and an effective visualization, thanks for posting!

Has anyone already tried this exercise and noticed any changes aound their relationships with people?

Mama Mia, I would agree with everything that's been said here, but also caution you not to attempt a cord cutting exercise until you have truly come to peace within yourself with the situation or you will make it worse. Be very honest with yourself about your feelings towards the person and only do it when you're truly ready to let go else you'll never be rid of them, it just creates more energy between you.

Very much learned the hard way on that one.

It's me Crab! Remember me? I have been re-reading my diary today, and it was just funny to see how many times I had been writing the same thing over and over again: "Please Universe, Please let this Aqua go, bring him perfect love, perfect health..." So it can last about 2 weeks to 2 months max, I even changed numbers, canceled emails...decided to go silent...but then, there comes this magnetic pull again that I just can't fight, I can't. So now I'm trying a new idea: I'm "silent", again, and this time I'm just asking to purify this relationship in this life time so that in the "next" we'll be ready to live a pure spiritual love, with no egos on our way...we have too many things that we don't like in ourselves and we project it into the other. I have made some asteroids research and this is what I found:
On my Moon he has in exact degrees Orpheus (connection with past love), Chiron, Circe (influence of magic) and Cerberus (guardian of your innermost secrets, hidden self), I have Arachne, Eurydice and Mars on his Sun, opposing his Pluto, Orpheus on his South Node opposing his Moon. There is some sort of intense, heavy and invisible link between us, but where we don't trust each other, we are always suspicious, and we can't brake it here, we can just pray that it will be easier next time.
His last words (Scorpio Ascendant) on his email the other day:"...missed more than ever...suffered a lot...it was very painful...I really missed you...That was cruel..."

CP, I just saw this..And to answer your question, His energy is around me slightly and every now and then he enters into a dream of mine. The last dream I had was about a month ago and he asked me on the sly if I still loved him..And I said yes, but I don't want to be with him..YES I have let him go and so thankful..

This new Aqua has me now and oh boy..There is some obstacles here but this is a better fit for me..

I believe it was Dane Rudyar who wrote about Past Lives/Retrograde Planets/Karma. It was a great read about Deja Vu and all that. Was this posted here, does anyone know??

Anyway, I think some relationships are more about outer planetary transits than anything else.

I think some relationships are just fated and there isn't really much one can do about it.
Like after you meet someone and you find out about other times that you were in the same place but missed one another by minutes or a few hours. Things like that.
Eventually your souls will set up the situation for the two people to meet up, and they either will or won't work out their karma.
Or they might make more.

I think a valuable lesson I've learned with age is to not fight these sort of things too much. Sometimes you just need to go with the flow and let whatever is to happen, happen.
I never used to be this way, I always wanted to be in control of my life, always wanted to know the future, and it didn't get me anywhere.

I do believe that Grace goes a lonnnnggggggg way in making life easier.
It's hard at first to remove ego and the urge to get back at someone, or treat them in a similiar fashion as they've treated you..
But once you start practicing Grace and Blessing your "enemies" it sort of becomes addicting.

Loving people makes you excited to get up every day.
Hatred keeps you bound.
At least this is my experience.

I don't really dig the idea of having to repeat any more lives with either of my husbands, but it's not something that I worry about because, I won't know, or remember next time anyway, so it seems like a wasted worry.
