Mostly, yeah. But what irks me
is the thought that she might be right,
and I wasnt offering quality.
I'll be nursing this grudge at least
until I reincarnate as a Sag.

I doubt she thinks that, and you know in yourself that's not true, don't you? Hope so, don't have that fear. I don't think Earth signs are necessarily looking for the same quality that they possess themselves(most of the earthy people I know are not in relationships with other earthy people). I think my point was appreciating their particular brand of quality. Their slow-moving sensual way.

quote:
I say its one hell of a cool chart, but Kurt Cobain's is the "maddest" i've seen. Nietzsche's is sick, too. Okay.. well, the Sun/Saturn is wide and in Pisces, so, I'm not going to concur with AG on that. However, Saturn tightly opposing the Virgo planets, and in stellium with Chiron, Mars, and Mercury definitely speaks to me. The square to Jupiter is intriguing too, especially in light of the entire configuration. Oh, and Mars in Pisces exactly trine Neptune is one of the coolest things I've ever heard of. And, hey, his Venus conjuncts my Moon by a few minutes... I bet he would take a shine to me. And in the first house; he probably looks like a young Paul Newman or something, eh? You should call him Slow Hand Luke. Then ask him if he wants to trade charts with me.

He would like you a lot, I'm pretty sure of it. Venus in the first, yes he is a handsome chap alright. The Aqua/Pisces part of the first house tends to get buried under the Cappy rising though. He looks like a Capricorn, moves deliberately but stiffly. Defintely has the Pisces eyes though. He doesn't go in much for astrology except when it suits his purposes. I know you two would have a lot to talk about.

How does your Cappy rising manifest?

Can you post Kurt Cobain's chart somewhere? Maybe on your own thread?

quote:
And yeah, earthy guys WILL move VERY fast IF they see and know what they want, because they won't want anyone else to have it
That, I like. But can't that be said about most men ? Hmmmmm ....

I would say yes, probably MVM. I have noticed that Aquarian males won't fight all that much though. They shrug their shoulders and walk away. Maybe it's just the ones I know.

I have known many Virgo and Taurus men who sit back and wait too long but never Capricorn! They are one of the signs that have aggressively pursued either me or other women that I know; they have been just as stealth and stalkish as Scorpios! Capricorns aren’t douchebags about it, they just don’t leave you wondering…

I think that the signs with the douche-iest, frat boy thing going on are Leos and Aries. I think it only works during the drinking years (early 20s) after that it just becomes obnoxious...

I agree, you said it well, downtomars.

It must be that Capricorns are cardinal.

hey wheels,

Thanks, yeah, i dunno, i hear ya...
I think she was very interested,
but I just didnt have the patience.

I've got that Aqua interception, too, with most of the first decan of Pisces in my 1st house, if you go by Placidus. I wouldn't say I am stiff, but deliberate, yes. I move with purpose, is how I like to put it. I move briskly, and sometimes brusquely, toward my goal. I have an idea and I am up, and speed-walking down the hall, down the stairs, to the computer, or wherever, to communicate it. Maybe this has something to do with my Mars/Merc. Or Scorpio. Heck, I dunno. I'm told I look very Cappy, but its more of the puckish, "I know something you don't know", smiling from one corner of my mouth, Cappy side. Other than that, I think a good deal of my seriousness comes from Cap, and also my pragmatic approach to philosophy; I'm not content with abstract truths, but am always working out the bugs, bringing them down to earth, and trying to put them in their proper contexts. Like some dude said about how all Zen can be summed up in three words: "Not always so." I think that's very Capricorn. Maybe some of this has to do with having my Sun on the Midheaven, too; approaching it from the 9th house side (Placidus).

quote:
He doesn't go in much for astrology except when it suits his purposes.

What other purposes are there? No, really. I mean it. Astrology was made for man, not man for astrology, right? We can only seek to understand our own perspective; even when we try to understand others, it is only as a guitarist seeks to understand a bassist, or a drummer. By all means, listen to them and jam with them, but, ultimately, play your own instrument. Don't seek to play guitar like a drummer. You dig?

What I meant by that is he excuses his bad behaviour by saying "Well, I am a Pisces". hehe, but it doesn't go both ways. He recently called me out on a bit of weak behaviour involving me and my sister, where I was too much of a pussy to stand my ground, and I said "Well, Pisces rules my seventh house". And he said astrology was a load of bunkum crap, a pseudo religion followed by people who need to believe in something to avoid looking at the fact that there is nothing, there never will be anything, there never was, that we're all going to die and get eaten by worms and anyway Pluto isn't even a planet, you're just making excuses for yourself and there is no such thing as Pisces or Pisceans". Until the next time being a Piscean suits him. That's what I meant.

I would agree that you are very much like that and that down to earth analysis is a very Capricornian trait. My best Capricorn male friend just won't stand for mumbo jumbo crap. I have heard the phrase "You are talking out of your arse!" so much from him and this is what I love him for. In a similar way you raise many debate on Lindaland. I don't always agree with you and I know you don't need me to but you definitely get people talking.

Thanks for posting Mr Cobain's chart. I agree, that is a blinder. He also has some strong opposition to that Pluto/Uranus conjunction. What struck me was the aspects from the NN. But I will look at it more, still very much learning.

Yeah, I getcha. Thing is, that "Well, I'm a Pisces" stuff works, to an extent. Sure, we're all meant to manifest the highest octaves (or whatever) of our signs and aspects, but we should remember that the negative manifestations of a Pisces (or Neptune, or 12th house, influenced person) are going to be harder to avoid for that person than for someone who is not contending with those energies. So, while we ought to encourage others to manifest the highest potentials within them, we should not be so quick to say things like, "Well, I've never had a problem with escapism,". You see what I'm saying? Its not like there is an excuse, and its not like there is no excuse. There are shades of grey. Geminis may have an easier time avoiding grandiosity than Leos, for instance, while Leos will have an easier time avoiding superficiality. We all have different struggles to be respected, if not entirely excused.

quote:
I don't always agree with you and I know you don't need me to but you definitely get people talking.

And thinking, and feeling, I hope.
Thank you so much for saying this.

Did you see this poem when I posted it:

quote:

You Can Make Them Talk

You can make them talk
if the serpent has stung them.
You can make them talk
if they're struck by an evil planet.
But you can't make them talk
if they're stuck dumb
by riches.

Yet, when Poverty the magician enters,
they'll speak at once,
O lord of the meeting rivers.

~ Basavanna,
South Indian Shaivite Poet, Tenth Century

from: "SHIVA The Wild God of Power and Ecstasy"
by Wolf-Dieter Storl, Ph.D. (Chapter 10, Shiva As The Devil)

Shiva is the bomb.

The aspects to the Nodes are pretty wide, but I agree that the Pluto/uranus/Ascendant opposition Mercury is a doozey. Mars in Scorp exactly trine the Sun is no joke, either, as is the angular Venus/Chiron/Saturn in Pisces. That grand water trine is cool as hell, and, with the opposition, forms a kite pattern. Very cool.

The most annoying men I dated were a Cap, & Virgos. Virgos: too nerdy, easily shocked and not very much in common. The Cap - a whiner. Too much of "all the things I do for you", delivered in a scolding manner, rapidly bored this Aries.
Now dating a Scorp, I love his good parts with a passion, but we both need our own space. I tend to be more of a "doer" whereas he goes for a long time without doing anything, and comes up with a gem that is pure unbridled genius about every 10 years or so LOL...

lol, Valus.

Really Lyra? Virgo and Cap are two of my three favorites. I've never met a nerdy Virgo! although, I probably don't travel in the places where they might frequent. The Virgos I've known were freaky boys, oh my! And smart, which is a huge turn on.

And I've never met a whiny Cap. They are the strongest, kicky a$$ people, at least in my life! I've got two that run around with me like personal body gaurds. They do seem to get depressed alot, but they seem to internalize it more than whine about it.

earth signs do take a long time....but i find that they are worth waiting for. anything worth anything is usually not going to come without some sort of struggle or lesson. It can be a pain waiting around for them but if they need their time, you have to give it to them. I have so much air and water which lends itself to wanting constant instant gratification but i have learned that others move at their own pace and sometimes we just have to be patient.

i think this is a testament to my loving earth signs recently and seeing that there is something more in waiting and getting to know someone before jumping into a pool not knowing if there's water in it

edit:
and any girl that will go for a douche before someone solid with something worthwhile saying....well you wouldn't want to be with that kind of person anyway.

i find if i like someone, i give them a few chances. people don't always present their best self right away and some need more time, which is usually worth waiting for. if you discover you don't like them, you move on but it can't hurt to give someone a few chances to move at their pace even if it's different than yours.

I just LOVE this old thread. Full of my old favorite LL peeps. I miss you kids.

Oh how I understand falling for those quick moving Fire signs as a young girl... while passing over my slow moving Taurus. He's STILL moving slow for goodness sake. Hey Taurus! It's been 30 years. I'm gonna need to light a fire under your bull butt.

Anyone else have experience with the slow moving Earth signs? I do personally believe they are worth the wait too.

Two Taureans were a nightmare. One is still in my life through a family member, and I can't be around them. They both upended my life in a devastating way. They were both douches, to say the least.

My dad is a Taurus, the best man I know, and one of my best friends is a Taurus, that I met through this board.

It all depends on who they are, as to whether they are worth the wait. I love Taurus, most of the time - Sun, Moon, Venus.

I think quite a few of the original posters thought V was saying that Earth signs were DBs. He was actually giving advice to his slow moving Earth sign buddy to get his butt moving before the girl was snatched up by a fast talking and fast moving fire sign who might not care about the lady as much as the Earth sign. I know I sure understand THAT!! (See my "In Love with My Best Friend" thread/story)

What exactly makes the Earth signs so darn slow anyway? Caution is one thing but there has to be a limit, right?
I think V was giving his Earth sign buddy some good good good advice.

Adding to this: my mother married my Dad, a Taurean, because he's a good man. She told him that he's a good man, and that there aren't many out there.

She had been engaged before, but not for long. She dated regularly before him, but he's the only one who got her down the aisle.

He's Taurus Sun/Moon, Mars/Mercury in Aries (not a douche), Venus in Pisces, Jupiter in Scorpio, ascendant in Sagittarius.

She was: Sun in Sagittarius, Moon in Libra, conjunct Jupiter, Neptune, and Chiron. Venus in Scorpio, Mars/Pluto in Leo, ascendant in Aries or Taurus.

I've always looked for good guys, because of my dad, and because of the bad guys my mother was involved with when they were divorced. A Sadge, a Libra, a Virgo - those are the ones I know sun signs for. The two Taureans who did their best to ruin my life: one had Taurus Sun/Moon, Venus in Pisces, Mars/Saturn in Cancer. One was a Taurus with a Pisces Moon - both of them wanted to be a "bad boy". luckily, my relationship with my sister wasn't completely destroyed, and is back on track. Men who try to get between sisters, are the worst.

If only this site hadn't been so negative for me, I might have still have my softer stance, when I visit. I miss feeling good here.

Because women are a bunch of easy to manipulate idiots of one mind. Know one woman and you know all of us! (At the very least he's assuming most women are like the ditzes on TV shows and like, when plenty aren't. The fact that SOME can be this way, especially when young, doesn't mean all, or even most, are. Hell, what he's describing in the cases that it SEEMS to apply could just be that a woman wants to know a guy is interested in her, rather than just being attracted to flamboyant jerks.)

I not only find it inaccurate, and bad advice (unless by "good women" he means something like "shallow ditzes" or "getting drunk at a club" where connections are likely to be fast or never, as opposed to "most to all women"), but insulting.

And while "obvious, pretentious douches" may often have a woman at his side, he'll also be rejected, sometimes cruelly, by several other women before he got to the one dumb (or reckless, or even scheming with her own ulterior motives) enough to fall for him. And meanwhile, plenty of guys who aren't all aggressive, domineering, and pretentious can and do date and marry.

Leave it to FG to show it so perfectly...

quote:
Quagmire: All right, let's see what you guys have done to make yourselves look like douchebags.

[Brian comes into the classroom angry]

Brian: You're a son of a ***** . You're teaching us all this crap about how to get women and it's all a bunch of bull! I came here 'cause I wanted to get Denise back and instead, you ruined my life!

Quagmire: These skills aren't for women you care about, you idiot. This course is in getting laid, not finding love.

Though Brian gets his revenge using his the douchebag tactics he was teaching other guys to get Cheryl and flaunt her in front of Quagmire, but damn those lines sum up douchebaggery, not to mention even worse PUA crap.

Oh, yeah, Nice Guy syndrome, who aren't nice, but manipulative and entitled jerks:
http://geekfeminism.wikia.com/wiki/Nice_guy_syndrome

Not to be confused with genuinely nice guys, many of whom have little trouble finding women, unlike the fake "nice guys."
