Its natural to be nervous the first time meeting folks I think, all you need to do is get past the initial first meeting and after that you should be ok..I was really scared the first time I meet my ex's folks, my hands were all sweaty from being so nervous lol and it felt like I had a frog in my throat..but you know something I made it through, and so will you

Hey MVM

Yeah, if you weren't nervous, I'd be a little worried and a little skeptical, for some reason- therefore... this is all so natural.

As Zala said, You'll be fine. You're so charming and easy to like that if she doesn't like you, she's the problem, not you.

LOL ... I'm just being like this to make you smile and soften the nerves. The bottom line is that all shall be well. Seriously.

Thanks, Zala and Libraschoice.
I'll let you know how it turns out...

"What's the worst that can happen?"

The Virgo mind is ripe soil for such questions

It's natural MVM. Even if they're not mamma's boys you know that she's going to measure you against herself. That's her problem. I don't know if any mother thinks that another woman is good enough for her son. What's important is that you know that you are a very intelligent and beautiful woman and you can stand strong in who you are knowing that you are something special and he's really lucky to have you.

You'll be fine MVM. But I know what you mean, it's very nerve wracking for me too. I'm always afraid of 20 questions, especially ones about my family. I dont want to answer those. And people dont understand when you say you have a good relationship with them and dont speak to your mother. They'll think down on me if they were to hear about them.

Good luck. Just take some deep breaths and know that it will be just a memory soon. I'm sure she will love you.

Thanks, PA
Thanks, T

I just think it's funny that no matter how much I've worked on my own confidence, or feel good about myself, this type of thing still has me shaking in my boots lol.
It's the first few minutes of meeting which make me feel weird. Ah well, I guess it's natural.
I'll keep you guys posted

Thanks, CPN.
Thanks Antiquarian.

It went really well... his mom is way laid back, really non-manipulative. It was a very easy-going evening, and we had dinner and laughed and had fun.
He made banana bread today lol. I took a slice home. OMG, I am seeing someone who loves baking as much as I do. The bread is SOOOOO good! We sit there and talk about baking and go all Homer Simpson on the recipes LOL (he's a Taurus rising and Mars like me). It's so nice

He is such a sweetheart too. It's so good to be with someone who is upfront and honest and direct, who believes in direct communication and being emotionally present. And someone I can laugh with, yet who knows how to be serious also, and how to just hang out and not have to be any particular way, how to just....BE, without all the games.
Like two people, just being themselves, and enjoying each other's company. It's so simple, it's stupid.

Sigh
