Received this in an Email

Around the corner I have a friend,

In this great city that has no end,

Yet the days go by and weeks rush on,

And before I know it, a year is gone.

And I never see my old friends face,

For life is a swift and terrible race,

He knows
I like him just as just as well

As in the days when I rang his bell.

And he rang mine but we were younger then,

And now we are busy, tired men.

Tired of playing a foolish game,

Tired of trying to make a name.

'Tomorrow' I say! 'I will call on Jim

Just to show that I'm thinking of him.'

But tomorrow comes and tomorrow goes,

And distance between us grows and grows.

Around the corner, yet miles away,

'Here's a telegram sir,' 'Jim died today.'

And that's what we get and deserve in the e nd

Around the corner, a vanished friend.

Remember to always say what you mean.

If you
love someone, tell them.

Don't be afraid to express yourself.

Reach out and tell someone what they mean to you.

Because when you decide that it is the right time it might

be too late.

Seize the day. Never have regrets.

And most importantly, stay close to your friends

and family, for they have helped

make you the person that you are today.

Abso-fecking-lutely!
Someone in my life died before I can tell them how much I loved them. It's my only regret.
Always tell people you love them. No matter what.

I agree, my neighbor (ex-neighbor actually) died last night. I was racking my brain trying to remember our last conversation, as it was almost 2 years ago. Finally, I recalled it, she hugged me out of the blue, which was very unlike her, she wasn't the touchy, feely type. And she said, "I love you." and I said, "I love you too." So I feel at peace about that.

I wish I could but I'm too scared. Could this be because I'm an introvert?

Maybe, but what is the worse thing that could happen? Rejection? Is that really worse then never knowing, never having that moment of letting it out and off your chest?

And what if, just what if, it all turned out like in a dream?

There is only one way to find out.

Whenever I am a step away from approaching this person, I feel pulled back somehow. I don't know whether it is insecurity or a sign that I shouldn't tell him.

Well, ABC, maybe you could look to the past for your answer.

Has it been this way before when you wanted to tell someone how you felt? Were you able to do it, or did you stop yourself?

That might help you define between a gut feeling that something "isn't right" or just something within yourself that keeps your feelings inside. (?) just throwing some ideas out there...

Personally, I feel that if I divulge too much too soon, it can act as sort of a wrecking ball to a potential relationship.. some people aren't so open to such an honest approach so soon. Especially if the other party doesn't quite feel the same.
I'm someone who likes to be on the same page with the other person. I like to earn their trust before I go too far. Cause if they trust you, it's far more likely to be less of an awkward situation if you drop the love bomb on them.

But if you feel you have a mutual understanding of each other, if you'd consider them a dear friend and if you feel that you would do anything for this person and they'd do the same for you.. then go ahead, tell them how you feel.

This never really happened before but when I did tell people in the past, I had my feeling thrown back in my face. I guess three times a charm so I'm a bit hesitant to do so now.

Depends ABC - did you regret what you did before? Letting that feeling out? With hindsight, would you have rather not have felt that rejection, or are you glad you knew in the end?

I have only done it once, when it felt safe, and it turned out it wasn't. At the time I was a wreck and swore I would never let someone do that to me again. But I am over it now, and I actually think I would do it again.

As Gypsee says - whats the worst that can happen? If you don't say it, then you'll always be wondering, and that then becomes a regret.......and we don't want to be living with those.....
