I have a question - would pSun conjunct pMoon DW and progressed DC conjunct nAsc bode well for a relationship in general? We each have some rather challenging transits going on at the mo (tSaturn conjunct nPluto and nSun for me and tUranus conjunct nSun and nJupiter for him, not to mention he also has the tSaturn conjunct nPluto too!) and things are to all intents and purposes over. Just can't shake the feeling (due to a combination of instinct and other more tangible factors) that things aren't quite done and wondered what part if any, progressed synastry plays in a relationship? Do the progressions act like transits of their own in some way, waxing and waning as they play out? Thanks for any input IP: Logged |

According to Robert Hand, the best of the best were unable to definitively stat which of the two (Transits or Progressions) were a superior predictor of a life. So yes, some use Transits, other use Progressions. quote: Just can't shake the feeling (due to a combination of instinct and other more tangible factors) that things aren't quite done and wondered what part if any, progressed synastry plays in a relationship?
Time and again we hear how the natal chart only shows potential. Natal-to-Natal synastry, imo, is static and in a similary way only shows the potential of a relationship. Progressed synastry answers the when and how long questions. So, if natal-to-natal synastry asserts; this would happen if thing One & thing Two were thrown in a room together. Progressed synastry clarifies at what time they are likely to come together and for how long. quote: ...would pSun conjunct pMoon DW and progressed DC conjunct nAsc bode well for a relationship in general?
Yes, the Sun/Moon double whammy would provide excellent atmosphere for entering into a relationship. Emphasis on entering into. Once you get pass this stage, other factors will come into place, because after all this is a dynamic/changing aspect. re: the bold part. Hmmm...I don't remember seeing that in the charts. Ascendant/Venus aspects also contribute favorably to the "atmosphere" surrounding the couple. IP: Logged |

Thanks so much for that Nine - that's a really good explanation. Re the progressed DC conjunct nAsc thing it's his progressed DC which now spans the majority of Cancer and my nAsc falls into it. Assuming I'm ordering the charts right in astro.com! I'm just looking at each progressed chart with today's date and then comparing any aspects??

Perhaps I got it wrong. The DC, as I understand it, is a point or a degree in astrological terms. The 7th house is a 30 degree sphere spanning from the DC. In my notes I have is nASC @ 19 Scorpio and his pASC @ 15 Sagittarius. This would put his pDC @ 15 Gemini & his progressed 7th house between 15 Gemini & 15 Cancer, roughly. IP: Logged |

Sorry you're right - I was saying DC when I meant 7th house! I've just checked the degrees and my nASC is at 23 Cancer so it only just falls into his progressed 7th, just before the beginning of his p8th. I think I read once that if that's the case, you count it in the next house but don't know whether that's correct.Either way, looks like this whole relationship is dead in the water so I suppose it's a moot point. Really felt he and I were the real deal. Trying to learn whatever lessons I can from it all but it's hard to walk away when it was all so perfect one minute and whisked away the next. Onwards I suppose IP: Logged |
