Topic: love, life, and 'twin souls'

i've given this a lot of thought. years of thought-most unwillingly. but it was something i feel kind of like i was forced into, somehow. years ago (in middle school and was obsessed with him beyond high school) i met someone who made me feel something beyond anything 'worldly'. we are not together. to make it short-i think we were both scared of each other.anyhow, i couldn't see anything in anyone else for years, until i chanced to meet someone around age 19-i was attracted to him instantly-but it was strange because no matter how close i got to him i felt like i could never quite reach him-like there was nothing there for me. then i met his friend. and then it was like a whole other world. it was like what i had left behind with the school crush that never went anywhere--like we were in the eye of a storm or something. what happened felt completely beyond my control. and it is scary. i never wanted to feel that way-pleasure was far from what i felt. it was more like we had the same moods-we would frequently say the same exact thing at the same time-our thoughts and feelings were always running on the same wavelength -whatever we felt was magnified-and we could pretty much read each other's thoughts. when he would stay the night at me and my boyfriend's place we would share dreams-something i'd never done with anyone before. anyway-the point is that i believe the first guy and the last guy i talked about have something to do with this twin soul or flame idea. it has always confused me as to who is who though-or why it matters-and for that matter-who am I? another point i feel is made here at least to me is that i really feel that most people are mistaken when they believe they want 'a relationship with their twin'. i think a harmonious relationship is what they want-and for some reason i feel that a relationship with a twin is something that can only really happen beyond this world. it's not something that is guaranteed to be pleasant-in fact i think it's guaranteed to be terrifying IP: Logged |

oh boy-if you only knew! it would be quite a long story-but suffice it to say that i ended up pregnant and he yelled at me for it. i hope to never have anything to do with him again...anyway, like i said-it was mostly scaryIP: Logged |

The twin soul, twin flame and soul mate phenomena is quite complex. I don't discount your experiences, and I understand where your coming from but the theory is when your ready to accept such a relationship it comes to you. In the meantime you have experiences similar to what you've experienced in preparation. It's like for example not realizing you have a fear of heights until you get to the edge of a bridge. One day standing at the edge of the bridge won't be so scary. One day you might even bungee jump off. We as humans find the things we don't understand or don't know to be frightening at first. The unknown scares us because it represents something difficult to accept and understand. I've had an experience like you've mentioned and it was terrifying but only because it made me more aware of myself as a person which was the truly terrifying part. Meaning meeting your mirror is scary because you get to see yourself as you are, the darkness, the beauty, the pain, the torment and it's hard and it's also very intense. Seeing yourself as you truly are is the scary part, not the other person or your connection to them. The truth is there are many people like you in existence, we're not alone in our uniqueness. Once we are able to face the many facets of our own reflections we can do the same with others. In this state all we see is love and truth in each other and the world at large. When your ready to accept the gift, it's sent to you. Remember, the universe puts the heaviest load on those with the strongest shoulders.
