Well... I'm a Libra and..

Not to long ago I had to walk away from a relationship with an Aquarius Man. Be still my heart . It was the first dating experience I'd had in 2 years because I had Saturn transiting my 8th house and I was going through a pessimistic phase. Our blossoming love affair came to an end because this incredible Aquarius was too elusive, erratic and chilly for me. Pulling disappearing acts for weeks at a time, rescheduling plans and not being direct. Even now I'm still stumped trying to understand these elusive men and what really happened. When we were together, it was stars and fairy dust and skies filled with white rose peddles. I think he needed time to grow and connect with himself spiritually, he wasn't sure of who he was as a person. It's why I decided to not ask him for things I knew he wouldn't be able to give in relation to a commitment. He wasn't happy with that decision but I knew it's what he needed, and I needed to find an evolved Aquarius .

I have a feeling I'm destined to be with one. They are honestly the hardest case to crack which is intriguing and fascinating however they're so elusive and it's hard to maintain something long term with them. I know they want commitment deep down though, and everyone deserves to feel true love. I can spot one a mile away and gosh I fall like a pile of bricks for them. I'm learning to tame the Venusian in me, because I seem to intimidate the socks off of these beautiful men because of my graceful aura I assume. Who knows. They get very nervous around me and disappear and then act like nothing happened. Which tends to bug me being a talkative Libra who likes to discuss things. I'm trying to learn what I need to do to sustain something with these untouchable men, without having to compromise who I am as a person. That's sort of what it felt like with my most recent Aqua Man.

If anyone has positive experiences with Aquarius Men I'd love to hear them. How did you or how have you in the past managed to deal with their elusiveness and indirectness? They are fixed signs therefore did you have to change yourself to suit their needs or were you able to accept each other as you were? Lovers share your stories, I'm all ears.

I just thought of something else.

It might be worth looking to the moon of your Aquarius. My boyfriend has moon in Pisces (my moon is Virgo), and this may go a long way to softening the Aquarian coolness, although consequently, he has Venus in Capricorn, like I do, so I don't know.

As always, it probably goes beyond sun sign compatibility here, even though the potential will be there with you guys being air signs, it's probably as much to do with the other personal planets too.
I suspect I am preaching to the converted here though, from your posts I suspect you know much more about astrology/synastry than I do, so forgive me if I come across as patronising.

Joan, I have responded to a Venus in Aqua men thread with my experience with such men.
If you care for a 'repeat' let me know.
I find them fascinating too but I need some grounding and so I will look at more than their Sun or Venus for a true match. (That one was a Cap Sun Venus in Aqua; a dangerous combo for me lol)
Anyway, I think you are right about the evolved Aqua's. You sound so mature; only a mature man would make sense to you.

Voix, thanks for being so honest and revealing about your relationship. I do think being mature and evolved are the underlining differences between a commitment ready Aquarius and one still going through a growth stunted insensitive phase.

Being at a certain state in evolution is incredibly important to me when it comes to relationships. I've experienced a lot and spent the greater part of my life consumed with a Leo Man who was beautiful inside and out but too different from me. I'm actually an Aquarius Rising in addition to being a Libra Sun, it's probably why I feel so connected to Aquarians in general. Any who being an Aquarius Rising I have a deep desire to make a difference in the world and have worked with and for community service organizations and non profits. I'm a humanitarian through and through however my Leo Man only cared about himself and not the greater world. I don't want a love just for myself, I want a love I can share with the world. Very few kinds of people are willing to split their time on earth between their love for their loved ones and mankind. That's what I'm looking for and I've found sparks of that in the Aquarius Men that I've known in my life.

You relationship seems very destined Voix. I wish you all the best and don't worry about coming off patronizing, you aren't and I appreciate any insight or advice in regards to this topic. Personal planets are definitely important in synastry and compatibility. I'm Air/Fire dominant and I know it's necessary for me to find the same in a partner or there is always an imbalance which doesn't work for me being the scales, it's to much work trying to balance an inherent imbalance. In the end I'm constantly comprising to appease the balance. Maturity is the conclusion, I prefer to use the world evolved because maturity seems contrived to me. Being an Aquarius Rising I don't tend to put men on a pedestal, but I do strongly believe in them as I do my friends and family. I actually tend to get put on a pedestal being a Libra by many men particularly Leo's and Aries, which I tend to avoid in terms of long term, I need more Air. Thanks again for your insights Voix, feel free to add more if it comes to you.

Anongrl10, I do remember your post on the Venus in Aqua Men thread, I'll read up on it and feel free to post any new revelations in regards to this topic. I agree that it would take an evolved man to match up with me. I have Venus in the 7th and I've had an ample amount of people and relationship experience, I've come to realize what I'm looking for might not be easy to find. And the catch is that I think my efforts at searching will fail me because what I'm searching for might end up finding me first. It's always better that way though, when things happen cosmically. Again thank you both for your responses, and more are welcome .

I use to put scorpio up on a pedestal and then for a while I put aqua up on a pedestal. Now i don't put any sign up on a pedestal as only one scorpio has had a big transformative impact on me and only one aqua has had a transformative impact on me and I had and still am having a transformative impact on both of them.

with the aqua in composite I have venus conjunct pluto and pluto in the 10th among other pluto aspects.

with the scorpio I have sun conjunct pluto and mars conjunct pluto among other pluto aspects in composite.

I will never forget either of them and they will always be a part of me and guess what they both feel exactly the same way. the aqua guy and I both feel in our hearts that we will always be friends and lovers and the scorpio guy and I are still in eachother's life 9 years later.

I have come to realize that is less about the sun sign and more about the aspects in synastry and especially in composite as synastry is more about the beginning and composite deals more with longterm bonds.

dont make the same mistake I made a while back when I would only date scorpios...that is limiting your experiences and possibly blocking out certain lessons you are here to learn. Is better to remain open. I wish I would have been more open instead of focusing on just one sign. I have sag rising and I have never had a thing for someone with sun in sag. you mention that you have venus in leo that is probably why you like aqua I feel. Ascendent is the personality you show to the world, your social self and venus is what you like in romance and opposites attract. I too have venus in leo and mars in leo as well.

The pedestal thing is something I tasted a lot in my relationship experience as well.
These people do not see me, but what I inspire them to think/fantasize about.
It really means the relationship is short-lived because inevitably you will be you at some point and you will find out that they hardly know you.
It's why I usually avoid strong Neptune involvement in synastry. I have a wide-orb Moon-Neptune opposition in my natal so I know I can't avoid Neptune very easily but at least an 'evolved' person will be familiar with this energy and hopefully try to consciously tame it.

Thanks for your words Amelia. I always value what you have to say. It's no good to limit yourself, I completely agree. I consider myself to be an open vessel. I'll open the door to any opportunity but very few will be given an invitation to return. I continue to spend time with all kinds of people however the strongest grip on my soul was with an Aquarius. It could be all that Leo energy opposing Aqua energy which is potent and powerful. And too boot It's inherent in my nature as well. There's a harmony and peace I've felt with those Aquarians, that has nothing to do with passion. It could just be the Air connection, but natural harmony and an elusive truth.

I guess I'm just looking for peace and harmony in love, whatever shape or form it comes in. We make decisions based on our knowledge and experience, and I guess I'll wait for the universe to show me a spade . I'm definitely open to all possibilities though.

i'm a libra sun and dating an aquarius sun, with his venus and mercury in aquarius too. i have determined that it's really a man's moon sign that you need for attraction. if you know an aqua's moon sign it can really help you reach him. my bf has his moon in leo, and it makes him extremely romantic and passionate; it goes against everything aquarian, especially venus in aquarius. so, while i know he likes his space and time with his friends, i also know the sure way to his heart is with flattery, doting, and lots of affection. next time you attract an aqua guy, get the moon sign and try to work that angle

Sorry Anongrl, I never saw this post until today.

I have looked at our synastry and composite, and I can't see where we have come from tbh, it's a bit of an enigma, but I'm not very versed in astrology. The Uranus action may accoout for the whole thing coming out of the blue and happening so quickly. But I don't see an end in sight, and I have never been able to say this. It feels like we have just picked up where we left off - where we left off, and when we left off is anyone's guess - neither of us put much weight on past lives, soulmates, or the like, until we met eachother. There doesn't seem to be any other explanation for this relationship.

I wouldn't want to post our charts in Nativelyjoan's thread, but if there is another way to show you if you are still interested, feel free to suggest
