Would he be open to going to marriage counseling? Would you?

I would say that perhaps while you are apart, you could use this as an opportunity to work on the issues that you are having. Perhaps you might need to spend some time on your own working through your own individual difficulties before attempting to get back together. Would it be possible for you to talk to him about simply taking some time apart for this and seeing where it leads, rather than getting a divorce? To try a trial separation instead of divorcing, and then to come back after a set period of time to determine whether or not to continue the marriage?

I'm not going to lie to you: I really can't say whether or not things will work out with you guys; I have no idea. However, I do think that they could, if both people are willing to put in the necessary effort and do the work that needs to be done, both individually and as a couple. Nothing in life is ever guaranteed, but if both of you want to be together and are open to that possibility (and does have to be a mutual desire), then it is at least possible.

Whatever happens, whether you stay together or separate, I sincerely hope that you will be well and that you will find peace, and that however this turns out will be for the best for both of you.
