I heard this song yesterday, and it's become a slow addiction.

'Remain Nameless' by Florence + The Machine. Posting some lyrics, too, as it's always a complete experience for me.

--

REMAIN NAMELESS

I was born in a big grey cloud,
Screaming out a love song.
All the broken chords and unnamed cries;
What a place to come from.

I wish to remain nameless.
And live without shame.
’cause what’s in a name?
Oh, I still remain the same.

You can call it what you want.
You can call me anything you want.
You can call us what you want.
You can call me anything you want.

Everybody lets you down.
In this free fall of a town.
Born a different soul rushing out.
Tell me what you’re running from.

I know everybody let’s you down.
I’ll do the same.
But know I’ll always be around.
This can remain the same.

Call me when you need me.
Call me anything you want.
Darling, believe me.
Nothing I haven’t done before.

Call me when you need me.
Darling, believe me.
Call me when you need me.
Darling, believe me.*

--

What does it mean to me? Everything, right now, given my own circumstances. In a sense, anyone who's Running, or has done so and is dealing with the consequences, or what-have-you, are now dealing with a kind of separation period, the fear of losing each other forever.

It's important to remember the truth, whatever we hold that truth to be, whatever it is between us - ourselves, and that one other person. No one else (on earth, at least) really fits into that equation. It's important to take a breath, and calmly trust our intuition. Just knowing the 'message' is being received.

That gives me faith. I hope it does, too.

That being said ... shouldn't we form a support group or something?

Stargazing, Theorising and Keepin' the Faith in Hollyweird,

*The chorus is a lengthy refrain; it's actually tremendously therapeutic (or was) for me to type out each 'call me when you need me' and 'darling, believe me' - but I've kept it to a minimum in the spirit of saving space. I -do- recommend hanging onto each repetition; it's very rhythm, nearly a mantra.

Call me when you need me. Darling, believe me. Call me when you need me. Darling, believe me ...

See?

Good lord, this woman REALLY gets it. Believe it or not, another one from Florence Welch off of her 'Ceremonials' album.

This, to me, was categorically about the Letting Go experience. Do share your thoughts, whether or not it gripped you, too. For me, it was uncontrollable. For someone like me who next to never cries, and is certainly never THAT suddenly overtaken, it just resonated with me on SO deep a level, logic completely fell away, and I was just swept away in it all.

Ohhh, the letting go. Of all the stages, it's got to be among the hardest, without question.

Here's 'NEVER LET ME GO', in its entirety.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7j9Bu1oo6Gw

Looking out from underneath,
Fractured moonlight on the sea,
Reflections still look the same to me,
As before I went under.

And it's peaceful in the deep;
Cathedral where you can not breathe.
No need to pray.
No need to speak.

Now I am under,
And it's breaking over me.
A thousand miles onto the sea bed,
I found the place to rest my head.

( Never let me go, never let me go.
Never let me go, never let me go … )

And the arms of the ocean are carrying me,
And all this devotion was rushing out of me,
And the crushes are heaven, for a sinner like me.
But the arms of the ocean delivered me.

Though the pressure's hard to take,
It's the only way I can escape,
It seems a heavy choice to make,
Now I am under.

And it's breaking over me,
A thousand miles onto the sea bed,
I found the place to rest my head.

( Never let me go, never let me go.
Never let me go, never let me go … )

And the arms of the ocean are carrying me,
And all this devotion was rushing out of me,
And the crashes are heaven, for a sinner like me,
But the arms of the ocean delivered me.

And it's over.

And I'm going under.
But I'm not giving up.
I'm just giving in.

Slipping underneath.
So cold, but so sweet.

In the arms of the ocean;
So sweet and so cold,
And all this devotion …
I never knew went on.

And the crashes are heaven,
For a sinner released,
And the arms of the ocean delivered me.

Never let me go, never let me go.
Never let me go, never let me go.

Delivered me.

Never let me go, never let me go.
Never let me go, never let me go.

Delivered me.

Never let me go, never let me go.
Never let me go, never let me go.
Never let me go, never let me go.
Never let me go, never let me go.

And it's over,
And I'm going under.
But I'm not giving up,
I'm just giving in.

Slipping underneath.
So cold, and so sweet.
