Read your post a couple of times and I have 1 question:

Did you at any point show HIM signs of not knowing what you wanted or being "aloof" or detached? Because that is what Pisces do sometimes and I have had quite a few relationships with them.

When a Cancer is CERTAIN what he or she wants, they will go for it to 100%. If they in the midst of all their emotions become derailed from contradictory signs from other party, they become insecure and to protect their very vulnerable feelings, they will withdraw at all costs.

The withdrawal process is also painful so whatever excuse they can come up with that won't appear overly suspicious or will hurt their partner's feelings, will be used and then they will slowly fade away. They will be back though!! We hardly ever sever ties with someone we had/have strong feelings for.

And as a Cancer that has used every single excuse in the book to get out of a situation I will advice you to NOT chase or even contact him. Trust that he will come back.
