Good Evening,
I'm new to this forum. I've been reading posts from other people and I can see some similarities with other Cancer men people talk about here and the Cancer Man I was dating (and I'm using the past tense, because I don't know where we stand right now). But I was hoping to get some guidance here.
We met in early December and our first date went very well. I'm a Capricorn and it's usually really hard for me to feel comfortable around people I don't know/trust but, with him, I felt very comfortable right away, I don't know why. My silly side came out right away and we didn't stop laughing that evening. Before we left, he asked me very shy if I would like to see him again and I said yes, that I would check with a friend whether we would be meeting Saturday or Sunday, and would get back to him.
The dates that followed just got better. Laughing a lot, learning about each other's lives, cultures, families, careers, etc. Just very comfortable and laid back.
At the end of December, he learned I was turning 30 in a few days and he said we should celebrate. That he wanted to take me out. I told him my friends had arranged a birthday party for me and that he was more than welcome to come, or that if he preferred, we could do something after my birthday. He said he would arrange another party for me the week after with his friends.
In between those birthday parties, New Year came and he sent me a text message saying I was making his world amazing. To which I replied with a thank you and saying that he felt like a breeze of fresh air in my life. And it's true, he's unlike any other man I've met. Very polite and a gentleman, yet very funny.
The following Friday came and we had my birthday party. It was nice, got to meet two of his friends, and then stayed at his apartment till 4AM, listening to music, talking… we were not intimate, he was just cuddling and kissing me while asking questions about my home country, my native language, family, etc. He hugged me really tight as I was about to leave and asked to please let him know I made it home safely.
We scheduled another date for the following weekend. And early that morning he asked for a rain check because an unexpected work trip had come and he had to leave. He apologized.
And that's when everything changed. He was never a chatter via text messages. He would just wish me a good day or confirm on the next date.
Since then we haven't seen each other and it's been two months. He has exchanged a few text messages apologizing to me for being busy or saying he was stressed with him having torn his meniscus, getting sick, etc. I just told him to please let me know if he needed something, that I was there. But that's it. I haven't heard from him and I wonder whether he just lost interest.
I have read from other posts here that Cancer men tend to go into their shells when they need to solve their issues or are hurt. I wonder if I hurt him saying something to him or he just doesn't know how to say he's not interested in me anymore.
I just feel confused about how someone who seemed so into me just vanished overnight.
Any guidance on how to proceed with this would be very much appreciated.
I've had men pull away in the past and I would move on rather quickly, but somehow I can't get him out of my mind.

I debated whether I should say anything, but I've been where you've been, and I never managed to get an answer or reconnect.

I've noticed he has sun, moon and mercury on Cancer... I'm guessing those traits commom to Cancer men are probably accentedthen...
Oh well, I'm just going to go on with my life, if it's meant to be great, if not it's fine too.
