Has anyone had an experience of reconnecting with someone they lost touch with years ago (obviously talking romantic connections) and it feels like you could continue exactly where you left off? How did it make you feel "reuniting" with them?

I had this experience last night. An American guy I met 14 years ago (in America, I'm British) under the most unusual circumstances and with whom I had an immediate, heart-stopping attraction, has just reconnected with me via FB. Well actually I was searching his name, not thinking I'd ever find him again, but I found him, so sent him a friendly message saying "hey, blast from the past here!". He added me as a friend and then we had a long FB chat about the circumstances in which we parted, which were completely outside our control (I'll spare the details!) but both of us thought the OTHER had dumped them!. I just felt a huge sense of relief and resolution that the questions and misunderstandings were finally resolved. I'm happy to just be friends with him now but he said he always thought about me and that if I'd stayed he would have loved me forever. Typical Scorpio romancer huh? He said he wanted to come and see me in UK straight away. Obviously I put him off for now but I think I will leave it for a few months and then we might reunite (as friends, in America).

Anyway it feels good that I've reconnected with someone who had such an impact on my life a long time ago.

Anyone else had a similar experience?

I have. With a Scorpio as well. Similar situation, I thought he didn't want me, he thought it was me who had stopped it.
After 6 years he contacted me and expressed a lot of feelings that I had no idea about at the time.
Now we've been seeing each other on and off for two and a half years...
When we take a break from each other, it's isually for the same reasons we had stopped the "relationship" years ago. And I think we keep going back to each other purely out of fear of going another 6 years or more without each other... Crazy...

Ugh I just posted a reply then accidentally deleted it! So here we go again...

That's interesting Dee, with mine the thing that forced us apart was just completely beyond either of our control (like I said I won't go into specifics). I wouldn't say we are destined to be together as a couple, but I felt our friendship definitely had lifelong potential, so to suddenly lose contact with him was a bit gutting, to say the least. I pined for about a year afterwards for him romantically, wrote tons of songs inspired by him (he was musical too) and just felt like no other guy came close in how passionately I felt about him. Even after all these years he remembered small details (as I still do), like what I drank, where we went, ate, etc. He said he'd thought about me ever since and really missed me (might have just been saying that to please me but it feels nice hearing it all the same!). I know it's easy to see it all through rose-coloured glasses now, especially as we are communicating over the internet or text for now, but I do feel a strange sense of contentment that we found each other again, and the confusion and misunderstanding of our separation is now finally resolved.

Soulmates come in all shapes and forms I guess.

Yes, for 14 years usc277.
I was in agony for the first two of those years, for sure! lol

Yes I agree, I like to "get to the bottom" of situations too (Virgo sun/Aqua moon here), in this case I was powerless for years to even attempt that. Being in a different country obviously didn't help. I could tell you more about his particular situation back then but that's not really for here to talk about.

As much as I think FB can be a bit annoying, it does have its useful moments! lol

PS - I think I must have a soft spot for Scorpios. Possibly my Neptune bang in the middle of Scorpio in the 1st house connecting with their sun. I always get spiritual about them! lol

I don't have any regrets about the situation, more like frustration and a feeling of being left completely hanging in the air as to what had happened. Was it me? Was it him? Was it something ELSE? Turns out it was the "something else".

True, but it wasn't meant to be. I'm a strong believer in fate.

I don't think we'd be good as a couple, if I'm perfectly honest (I can never quite handle Scorpio guys despite the strong attraction, I usually get along better with air or fire signs which are more lighthearted for me), but I'm quite happy to be a supportive friend and hope vice versa. Of course the magnetic attraction will still be there, but at the moment I don't really want that kind of intensity in my life, just happy to keep a certain healthy distance.

It's exciting though, I have to admit!

I envy your courage. I couldn't be "just friends" with someone whom I thought I had a magnetic connection with. Its all or nothing..too painful to see them and act like they are just a friend.. I think its a water sign thing...all my x's wanted to remain friends ( Libra, Leo, aqua, capri ) but I couldn't make it happen...

Yes I know what you're saying usc, I'll probably feel the same if and when I see him again. I know the pull originally was just too strong, he'll be a hard one to resist.

My experience with all water sun sign boyfriends has been the same actually (intense uncontrollable attraction), that's why I felt safer in long term relationships with less "deep" signs because quite honestly I don't have the energy to devote to them! haha

I'm sort of playing the field a bit anyway - no sex with anyone, just getting to know certain people and keeping my distance as I need to focus on myself for a bit/work.

haha. I won't argue with that! Well romantically/sexually (for me) at least, the ones I've met anyway.

Mine have mostly been Scorpios, I wanted to marry two that I've met in my life (when I was 18 - first serious boyfriend thing), then this American guy I've just been talking about, and now some French bloke who's young enough to be my son! I'll be dating babies at this rate!

I know they're no good for my health, but I just can't help it!

Had one Pisces boyfriend (INTENSE ATTRACTION, PHEW!), and one Cancer (same thing).

So yes, water signs have a certain something!

I haven't done my composite chart with this guy yet (although I know his birth date), but looking at the synastry charts I suspect we have a composite Sun/Venus/Mars/Mercury conjunction, which trines composite Jupiter in one direction and composite Moon/Saturn in the other. Because he's just a year younger than me we have Neptune conjunction, Pluto conj, and Uranus conj too.

My God, no wonder it was so powerful and compelling.

He's been contacting me daily since and although I'm trying to keep things casual and cool, we've already more or less said we still have feelings after all these years. Emotionally things were strong then and it appears they still are. It's just.... bizarre!

I guess the proof will be when I finally meet him in a few months, we're both older (hopefully wiser) and maybe the attraction will still be there in real life, maybe it won't. It will give me an incentive to get down the gym though!. lol

JoB I find this story kind of heart warming. Maybe because it gives me hope for my long lost love who is also a Scorpio guy btw.

I think this reconnecting thing must be Scorpio related lol. I reconnected with my Scorp guy too through fb and it was YEARS after we had known each other. Our intense fling ended because we live too far apart but contact broke off altogether because we both felt rejected by each other.
When we reconnected the spark feelings were still there too.

Sounds like you two may have a chance of rekindling that old flame

Maybe Heartsong. I wouldn't mind if we don't though, we're in different countries, and he's been in a relationship for a while anyway. When I pointed that out he said: "maybe because you left me" (which wasn't the case btw, it was beyond our control what happened), and of course he did the whole "I'm not happy" thing. I take that with a big pinch of salt when men say that about their current girlfriends. I'm keeping a very low profile in interacting with him on FB in the meantime. We just message and don't comment on eachother's posts or pictures. I think we're both mature enough to know the score. If we remain good friends then I'm happy with that.
