Have you ever had unrequited love?

All I know is, unrequited love is different from one-sided love.

One-sided love usually occurs when one side is in love with the other but unreciprocated, and thus it brings immense pain and obsessiveness.

But I read somewhere that unrequited love, while similar to one-sided but different in terms that the end result is more bittersweet, as you actually love the person and you want them to be happy, even if it pains you.

How do you deal with these type loves? Have you ever had it?

I think we've all experienced unrequited love and I think the distinction between one-sided love and unrequited is a bit blurry to be honest.

I would find it more difficult to deal with unrequited love if I was in love with someone and they really LIKED me but was not in love with me. You are sort of compelled together/attracted because of the friendship, which means constant torture really for the person who actually wants more.

At least if someone simply didn't like you you could move on. lol.

One-sided love seems to involve more deception and self-deception, I think. I mean, for example a couple who are apparentlly in a romantic relationship but one is giving/investing more than the other and the other is somehow exploiting that situation to get what they want.
